Lose The Attitude – Compassion Doesn’t Come From Accusations or Anger

Control Your EmotionsJust because you’re not in tears and falling to your knees under the stress of hardship; doesn’t mean you’re not screaming inside like a raving lunatic!
~ Springwolf

The Hypocrisy Of Spiritual People

NEVER Judge a book by its cover. Some people keep worry, stress and anxiety inside where it destroys every fiber of their being. You may never see the tears, the shaking hands, or the constant worry on their face or the sounds of struggle in their voice. But that doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Are you a spiritual person who “Walks Their Talk”? Or are you a spiritual person in name only who’s actions fall back on old patterns of emotional drama? Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Sun

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Allow your compassion and nurturing to shine through your actions. Success comes when you give of yourself in support of others. Be a team player and work for the greater good of all; not the selfish indulgence of ego and self. Winning at any cost brings only momentary satisfaction. Those who work in harmony with the world around them in peace and with love receive the greatest rewards. Many of which are beyond measure.

Additional Insight:

No one is an island working completely alone. There is always someone there to help and open a door to opportunities. When you remember you’re part of a bigger world, or even just a bigger group you can begin to unite the Divine creative energies of all for the success of the common good.

Coming together brings with it the strength in numbers, the empowerment of inspiration and creation of ideas and solutions. But it also brings a sense of united compassion, caring, tolerance, acceptance and yes, even love. Working together can also bring a sense of confidence in self, a satisfaction of accomplishment and an inner knowledge that success can be acquired again. Let the snowball of success fill your life for today, this week, this month and this year.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Four of Swords

Four of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Allow yourself to be cradled in love and compassion. Rest and release the stress that has overwhelmed you and taken the color of joy out of your life. You are not alone, you will always be held by your inner spirit and the Divine in your life. So while it may seem like everything has come crashing in, you will survive and your kingdom will find brightness again.

Additional Insight:

There are many ways to release stress from your life. Meditation, exercise, even giving yourself permission to have a good cry can help you let go of all that you’ve held inside. The only real constant in the Divine Universe is change. So while things are hard today, and the stress of loss or struggle seems to hang over your head, know it will not last forever.

Don’t allow your fear and anxiety to get the best of you now. Don’t lose faith in your beliefs, or in yourself. Rather now is the time to fall back on what you believe and to remember you are never alone in your fight to survive.

Start your day with a smile, even though it maybe hard and a simply affirmation to remind you that you can and will get through this!

I can because I am one with the Divine Universe
I choose to live with joy in the here and now.
I face each and every day with empowerment and love.
And So It Is.

Sunday’s Homily: When Tragedy Strikes

When Bad Things Happen To Good People

The Alpha's

The Gift of Compassion

In the wake of the Aurora, Colorado “Batman Rises” theater shooting on July 20th, many are asking the question “Why?”. “Why would a supposed benevolent creator allow such a thing to happen?” Good questions that of course are not easily answered.

From the pagan perspective we do not view the Divine as an outside omnipotent being, aka “God”. For us the Divine is a collective. You are not the God, I am not the Goddess, but you and I and all things, seen and unseen, make up the Divine Consciousness. As such, the Divine is not good or bad energy; it’s just energy. Good, bad or indifferent the Divine really is everything. How we (we the incarnated being) express that energy is what’s important and where we find the answer to how can bad things happen to good people. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Lovers – Inverted

The Lovers - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Even when it’s cloudy, you shine as bright as the sun. How your mood goes, so goes the reflection of the world around you. When you hold yourself up with pride, self confidence and joy, your energy can shine through even the toughest of times. That expression is then reflected back to you in the people you meet, the situations that cross your path and opportunities that come your way.  Remember to express the positive today, with a smile and compassion; even if it’s only for yourself.

Additional Insight:

Put a brand on your day with positive energy, compassion and love of self, and it will be reflected in all things you do. Remember you attract what you put out through thought and action. If you’re tired of the negative, bad luck, struggle and strife, then you’re the only one who can change it.

Stop looking in the mirror and seeing a failure or someone who isn’t beautiful or attractive. You are the perfect embodiment of the Divine and with your connection to the greater Divine Consciousness you can create the person and world you desire.

It starts with a smile, a look at the self and a good daily affirmation to remind you of your Divine perfection. Try this one:

I can because I am one with the Divine Universe
I am the embodiment of Divine Creation.
I love and approve of myself, and see others with love and compassion.
And So It Is.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Nine of Pentacles

9 Of Pentacles

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Show compassion, caring and love to the child within. Don’t be so hard on yourself for your knee jerk reactions. They have been formed for years and take time, healing and effort to overturn and change. Don’t judge yourself or others too harshly and make sure you know all the facts, not just the headlines or the talking points.

Additional Insight:

Make sure you understand all sides of the issue before you start placing blame or judging others. This is especially true when reviewing your own actions and responses to daily situations and encounters. Sometimes things seem as though they’re an attack, when in reality they were simple issues that were made bigger because of your past experiences with others.

Don’t apply the actions of the past onto the relationships you have today. You’re not the same person within, and they may not even be the same person you’re dealing with today. So just because someone in your past hurt you deeply; doesn’t mean the person you’re with now is trying to do the same thing.

Sharing understanding, compassion and especially caring communication with yourself and those around you are the key to understanding. Take some time to calm down, and then talk it out. You’ll be better for it and so will they.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Devil

The Devil

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Keep your temper under control today. Don’t allow the foul mood of others to push your buttons. You’re not part of their drama, so don’t get involved simply because they want to take it out on you. Show compassion, let them know it’s going to be ok and then quickly walk away!

Additional Insight:

You may not know what’s going on with someone else, but you can be assured you’re not the cause. So don’t get involved; overlook their emotional lashing out at everyone around them. Try to be calm and let them know you’re sorry they’re having a bad day. Give them a little kindness and compassion. Tell them you know things will be better tomorrow.

If they’re a work or school associate avoid them like the plague for the rest of the day! If they’re a close friend or family member, give them a hug and let them know you care. Don’t force them to talk about what has them upset. But let them know if they need a shoulder, you’re there. And if they do confide in you, remember; keeping a confidence is extremely important in relationships. If they ask for your help to intervene, then perhaps you can share some information. Otherwise…keep your mouth shut!

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Ace of Cups – Inverted

Ace of Cups - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Sometimes we can protect ourselves from the rain, by showing others love and compassion. When you walk the path of kindness, tolerance and acceptance you heal the world around you. In doing so, you’ll find that even if someone tries to turn your world upside down, your cup will still remain full and overflowing with blessings.

Additional Insight:

The real test of the day is walking the path of spirit in the real world. Putting your beliefs and perspectives into practice can be challenging at times. And you will face those challenges today. Take a moment to reflect on what you believe and how you want to live your life. When you’re confronted with a challenge today, consciously make the choice to Walk Your Talk©! A simple pat on the back, rub of a shoulder or kind word to someone who is filled with anxiety and anger can show your compassion and kindness. Even when their anger is directed squarely at you.

The Seven Point Guide to Self Fulfillment

Wisdom From The Dalai Lama

14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso

Last night (4/25/2012) on Piers Morgan Tonight, Piers interviewed the Dalai Lama. Just because I’m pagan doesn’t mean I can’t learn from and appreciate teachings and wisdom from those of other faiths. And everyone can learn much from the Dalai Lama. It was an excellent and fascinating interview, perhaps the best interview of the Dalai Lama I’ve ever seen.

His honesty is so refreshing in this time of “spin” and out right lies from political leaders, celebrities, and yes even from the spiritual community itself. His optimism is inspiring and by itself can give one hope for a better world. What struck me the most was that he isn’t so optimistic as to be delusional about what can be attainable. He’s much more of a realist than I had ever thought someone in his position could be. And that impressed the heck out of me!

At the end of the show, Piers tells his viewers that here in America we spend $11 billion on the self help and self improvement industry. We spend so much time looking outside ourselves to find happiness, that we forget to look within our own selves, in our actions and our practices. But the Dalai Lama has a cheaper way of finding happiness.

Here are the Dalai Lama’s words of wisdom in his 7 Point Guide to Self Fulfillment:  Continue reading

Living In Balance

The Balance Of Life and Spirit

Black and WhiteMany people these days are taking a good look at themselves and their lives, trying to find a balance for achieving happiness. Or at the very least contentment. They look at how they interact with their family unit, how they conduct themselves within business matters and how much time they spend on making the all mighty dollar and that illusive career or achievement of success. And many realize they’re living a life out of balance and wondering how to find the solution.

A lot of people shy away from looking within as part of the recipe for change. They think of looking within and an exercise to become critical of the self and that introspection seems like it only makes things worse.  They being playing the blame game of what has been, or what choices have made that contributed to the imbalance. Guilt for what they did or didn’t do, isn’t going to go back in time and change those things. Continue reading
