Our Thoughts & Prayers

We have shared our deepest sympathies too many times on days like today where our news is blanketed with terror, sadness, intolerance and hate.  Whatever the reason a young man had for resulting to mass murder, his actions and hate will never be justified and should never be tolerated.

At some point America needs to learn that these hate crimes are terrorism born here at home. An entire community around the U.S. has been threatened and targeted too many times, simply because of who they have chosen to love.

Love is the life force that allows all humans to survive throughout their life. It raises everyone up with compassion, caring and, well love. There is no greater gift we can give to the world around us than to love one another.

Everyone here at Springwolf Reflections and Spring’s Haven extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families and friends. Along with everyone in the LGBT community who are crying and constantly looking over their shoulders. That’s no way someone should have to live. And it is the result of all terrorist acts. Thoughts & Prayers For Our Brethren In Brussels

We have shared our deepest sympathies too many times on days like today where our news is blanketed with terror, sadness and intolerance. This is not the time to demean, insult or threaten a population of people who share a nationality with those who have chosen violence to express their anger and hatred. We hope everyone around the world will show compassion and refrain from directing their fear or anger toward innocent people who themselves are fearful and filled with sadness.

We also hope and pray that the political rhetoric remains calm, that wisdom be placed in the hearts and minds of our world leaders as they and their officials face the challenges brought to us all by these acts of  terror.

Everyone here at Springwolf Reflections and Spring’s Haven extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims, their family and friends in Brussels. Along with all the people of Belgium and Europe who are now in the shadow of sorrow and fear. Continue reading

Find Strength in the compassion and love around you. Allow healing to begin from within. Don’t push others away and try to walk this road alone. It’s too easy to become lost and give up. It’s to easy to fall into the darkness and become consumed by despair. It’s hard to remember that you’re not the only one hurting. But try to share the compassion you receive. Others need it too.

Additional Insight:

I’m surprised by this card today, yet it’s so appropriate on so many levels. There are many who are facing trials both great and small today. It’s easy to become overwhelmed and stressed out by hardships no matter what they are. What you think is a trivial thing could be the very last straw dropped on someone’s back and they can no longer carry all the weight that built up over the last few days, months or even years.

In those times of struggle we need to be there for each other. We need to listen and share in the compassion and love around us. There’s something to be said for sharing the tears of pain and helping each other through the darkness of sorrow.

Yes some struggles are more dire than others. Some run deeper and some hit the very essence of our soul. But all deserve kindness, support and consideration. Whither it be spending an extra moment of your time to help someone in need, giving a hug to lift someone up or reassuring someone close to you that you’re there by their side to lean on, all acts of compassion can ease someone’s spirit. And it can even help ease your own.

Let them cry, let them scream, hold their hand and endure or share the release of emotion. Could be they’ll be there for you one day. Helping you to stand and not runaway into the depths of the darkness and solitude.

Something To Remember About Compassion

CompassionIt’s Hard…Asking For Help

It’s hard to be positive when you’re faced with such negativity.
It’s hard to smile with joy, when anger is sent your way.
It’s hard to stand up to challenge, when so many kick you while you’re down.
It’s hard to shelter those around you, when you’re at the bottom asking for help to get up.
It’s hard to be compassionate, when others compare their inconvenient trials to your desperate struggles.

Is it no wonder that those who are at their wit’s end, pull away, ignore the phone, delete the emails, cry in private and fall out of your life? Sometimes those in struggle can’t take that one more hateful word, one more comment of guilt, one more blame they had no control over.

Remember someone always has it worse than you. And they’re not responsible for the choices you make to help them or not. Don’t assume others don’t know about your sacrifices. Don’t accuse them of being ungrateful, when they’ve said thank you or they appreciate your past help. No one “wants” to ask for help. It takes a lot of strength, courage and humility to turn to others. Don’t smack them down for it. You maybe their last and only option.

The Votes Are In – It’s Time For Compassion and Unity

Thank You For Your Patriotism America

Thank you to everyone who got out yesterday and voted. Who ever you voted for, your action was an expression of freedom that has been paid for by many who have come before us and many who have given life and limb so you could do so.

Now that the votes are in, it’s time to bury the anger and political rhetoric. We cannot be a United people, when some groups are being restricted, controlled, hated or ignored out of fear and ignorance. Doing so breeds contempt, distrust and hate. Acceptance creates peace, respect and inclusion. A United States born out of a desire to be free for all, not for a controlling few.

We light a candle today and ask the Divine Universe to guide the knowledge and compassion of our leaders, that they may guide their steps with wisdom and inclusion.  We hope our leaders walk a path of compromise for the good of all people, without fear, anger, or hatred. But rather in love and compassion for all. We hope that even though we may have our differences, we can all find common ground to share a smile, common respect and the return of civility once again.

Creative magik is afloat today. You have reached the pentacle of hardship and it’s time to remove the bindings that have held you down. But be cautious. There are still enemies out there who would want to secure those bindings with chains the next time around. They are afraid of where you’re going, and their fear leads them into darkness. Show compassion and light the way. If they refuse to follow, you may have to leave them behind for the good of your own self-interests.

Additional Insight:

How you move forward from this moment on will dictate the progress you make. Take one step in anger, hate, or frustration and you could stumble down the hill and be caught in turmoil again.

Use your freedom wisely and try to help others break the binds that hold them back. There’s no need to argue, no need to get frustrated or yell. Simply hold out your hand reassure those who feel an unrealistic fear about the future.

Take your time and don’t rush through anything over the next three to six months. Consider the consequences of your actions before you take them. Make sure you’re willing to live with the choices you make, not only in how they impact you, but how the effect those around you.

Walk with love and acceptance, compassion and gratitude and you’ll find sure footing on your path forward.

Your creative energy can manifest the strangest things, but often times they are exactly what you need at the moment. Your unique humor can cause others to laugh and help them through troubled times, but it also helps you as well. Allow your compassion and frivolity to light the darkness and help others find their way out of the shadows and from under the mushrooms.

Additional Insight:

Your spiritual beliefs and unique humor can often carry you through times of trials and help you to handle change and transition. Share that ability to assist others who do not have the same perspective. Not everyone has that inner strength and many fall into deep depression when troubles occur or a loss is experienced. It doesn’t matter if that change is the loss of a job, relationship, friend, pet or relative. The end of something tangible has equal emotional sorrow as those things that are intangible.

You can aid them in not falling too far into the depths of despair with your tempered humor and compassionate attention. Sometimes looking at the silver lining is equally as important as feeling sorrow and letting it out.

Too much of anything isn’t good for anyone. Holding sadness in can fester and cause more harm than good. Letting sadness rule your life isn’t a positive expression of emotion either. Ensuring that one expresses a balanced approach to their emotions allows one to grieve over things or people lost; and yet still maintain a sense of emotional stability.

It’s never easy losing someone or something that was important to you. But the only real constant in life is that things change. Fight that change and you’ll lose the battle and miss the chance to find love or fulfillment in the future. Accept that things change for a reason and celebrate what they brought to you in your life and you can focus on the good things in life and be open to new lessons and experiences it has to offer you.

I have two recommended reading list, one at Amazon and one at GoodReads. These lists are exactly the same, so don’t think you have to do a comparison here. It’s easier to keep a list of recommended books on these sites, because they change from time to time. This way I can add new books and share them with others who frequent two of the more popular book sites.

The more you learn about a topic, the more research you’ll want to do. Make sure you read about a subject from different authors to gain insight into the different perspectives and ideas. Pick and choose what feels right to you, when it comes to your beliefs. The more you read, the more you’ll be able to recognize what’s good source material from that which leaves something to be desired.

When Compassion Succeeds

When Spiritual Psychology Goes Right

As a Pagan Minister I receive a lot of requests from people looking for spiritual insight and help during times of trials and challenges. Often times, these requests come from people who are out of state or even overseas. They can be people who live in areas that are highly saturated in a Christian community, or military people who want one of their own to talk to.

Imagine being in crisis and wanting someone to speak with in spiritual terms, but the only available help are Christian Ministers who don’t understand your pagan beliefs. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone say the minister only wanted them to pray for salvation and to convert from their wicked pagan ways. If they would do that, their problems would disappear. For many, this isn’t the help they’re looking for and in fact, it causes some to feel even more helpless than they were prior to the “Spiritual Counseling” session. Continue reading
