Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Seven of Swords – Inverted

The Steampunk Tarot by Aly Fell - Seven of Swords:Inverted

The Steampunk Tarot by Aly Fell

Be prepared and ready your shields, someone wants to pick a fight with you today. Don’t allow them to ruin your day or impact your mood. Remember no one defines who you are, but you. Their words are nothing more than cries for help from a place of sorrow and sadness. Turn the tables and throw some compassion into their dark world and you could be the one making an impact with kindness in someone’s life.

Additional Insight:

Not everyone who’s watching you is on your side. Don’t dwell on those lurking in the shadows, you’ll only feed the energy they’re looking to take from you. Simply set some strong shields of protection and go about your day. You might get through your tasks and chores without conflict of any kind. Stick to your list of things to do and focus on you.

If someone does find the guts to confront you, don’t allow their negativity to alter your energy or mood. Let your shields bounce their anger and jealousy off your shield and back into their darkness. You’re not responsible for their actions and choices.

If you’ve said things to them in the past that you regret, use this opportunity to apologize and take responsibility for your words. What we say, think and do all have energy and consequences. And while we may not be responsible for their negative self talk or thinking, we could have contributed to it from our past actions. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Ace of Swords – Inverted

The Steampunk Tarot by Aly Fell - Ace of Swords Inverted

The Steampunk Tarot by Aly Fell

Keep an eye on your work and your emotions associated with all your important projects. Don’t allow your frustrations to get the best of you and bring about anger. It will cloud your judgement and cause more problems than it will solve. Don’t share too many of your secrets, but discuss enough to nurture the goals and gain insights from those who have something to share. Collaboration is a good way to overcome obstacles. But make sure you know who you can trust with your new insights and ideas.

Additional Insight:

Not everything has to be shared with the world. Be cautious about what you let out of the bag. Once it’s out there, you can never get it back. Information is power in today’s world. The more you have, the more you can control in your life. And sometimes in the lives of others. So be careful what you tweet and post in your moments of great frustration!

That conversation on social media isn’t as secure as you think it might be. Even if you think it’s simply a private message to your “best” friend. That direct message can be copied and sent to others who you do not want to know about your secrets.

Make sure you know who you can trust. And either speak with them in person, or simply keep it to yourself until next week. Be wary of speaking with others on the phone too, it may not be as secure as you hope. You never know if someone else is there, listening in because the one you trust is listening to you on speaker. Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Ten of Cups

The Steampunk Tarot by Aly Fell - 10 of cups

The Steampunk Tarot by Aly Fell

Bells will be ringing in the changes and transitions in this chapter of your life. You can choose to see those changes as struggles with sorrowful emotions. Or you can look forward with faith and welcome in the new. Remember all clouds have a silver lining and you’re the one who selects your perspectives. Make the decision to be happy with the energy coming your way. Get excited about what you’ll discover over the next little hill. You’ll be glad that you did.

Additional Insight:

You maybe saying some good-byes or fare-the-wells. That’s ok. You’ve gotten what you needed from those encounters and it’s time to move on to something better. It was nice while it lasted, but you really do deserve more.

Whither it’s a relationship, friendship or a position at work or in a group, the writing was on the wall. Did you not notice the little signs that trying to tell you it was time to let go and move on? Often times when we don’t listen to our gut instincts and push through the feelings, the struggles become harder. Until the Divine force in your life has to give you a kick in the pants to get off the bench and make changes happen.

You’re always given the chance to see where the path is taking you. But when you constantly refuse to act upon it, you’re only make things harder on yourself. Go with the flow and accept what transpires. Know that this is for the best and for your better interests. There are many decisions and choices involved that have brought you to this point. And some of those you had nothing to do with. As is the case sometimes when we cross paths with other souls. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Queen of Cups

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Nurture your goals and put forth an effort into achieving them. Whither its a little item on your list of things to do, or a dream you’re trying to manifest, spend some time and energy to make it a reality. No one is going to do it for you. Inspire yourself,  focus and Git-R-Done.

Additional Insight:

Be the ruler over your own domain today and do something for you. In between all the work and little things you’re getting done for everyone else, you have time to spend on yourself. Skip the 15-minute gossip session in the hall, it’s not a good use of energy anyway.

Remember that what you think, say and do brings back the same energy to you that you’re putting out. Watch your words and thoughts. You don’t know everything that’s going on in someone elses life. They maybe at a breaking point and simply covering it up very well.

So forget about what other people are doing. Show some compassion. And if you can’t do that, than simply ignore the outside world and focus on your own task list. What do you have to get done on your list of resolutions or steps toward a goal or your big dream? That’s a much better use of your time today. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Priestess

The Priestess

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

A day of balance, change and introspection.  Going with the flow, doesn’t mean riding the rapids haphazardly. Look within and discover where your own strengths are. Tap into that spiritual energy and allow your abilities to guide your journey through the rocks. Quench the negative self talk with your own perfected skills and you’ll even out the scales of imbalance in your favor.

Additional Insight:

In honor of Friday the 13th, I counted from the top of my tarot deck and selected the 13th card. I think she’s a fitting messenger for this day of transition and change.

The Priestess reminds us that we always have a say in where we’re going, how we get there and why. Sometimes that means we must take time to sit quietly and look within ourselves to discover the answers that will help us guide our journey.

We don’t have to sit in the raft and ride out the rapids holding on for dear life. Doing that allows fear to guide your direction and leaves angst, anxiety and worry to rule over your path. Trust your instincts and have faith in yourself and your abilities to choose the right course of action. Allow those talents to steer your craft through the treacherous waters and you’ll be able to avoid the hidden dangers.

The Priestess is a leader, even more so than the Queens of the suits, because she is the one who provides wisdom and understanding over events. The Priest and Priestess use their connection to the Divine in their lives to rise above the pettiness of the physical world and look beyond the emotions that cloud our judgement. By doing this they are able to see the events that brought us here, understand the lessons and can see the karma in play. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Ten of Cups – Inverted

Ten of Cups - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Focus on the successes you’ve achieved, not on the failures you’ve endured. No one gets it right all the time and you’re not perfect! Learn from the situations that didn’t work out your way. Do the research to understand what happened and discover better solutions. Heal the wounds, show compassion to yourself and apply the knowledge you gained to the next attempt to achieve your dreams. Never give up and always “try” again!

Additional Insight:

Stop being so hard on yourself! You’re holding yourself up to a standard that no one can achieve and then beating yourself up because you didn’t get as far as you intended. No one is going to be perfect and get right every time. Not even you.

Those who have succeeded and reached the pinnacle have endured more failures than successes. But they didn’t dwell on what didn’t work. They learned from them. The recognized where their mistakes were and what they could fix. But they didn’t focus on the issues they couldn’t control and blame themselves for not seeing it coming, or not being aware, or not controlling the issue. They let it go and quickly moved on to the next plan.

Instead of looking at how short you fell from the goal line, look at how far you came across the entire field. Let the effort to getting this far give you the energy to continue and give you the courage to make another try at reaching your goal. You can’t grab the brass ring if you don’t make a few small adjustments and make the reach again.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Priest – Inverted

The Priest - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t tie yourself up in knots. There’s still quite a bit of healing going on under the surface, mental, emotional and maybe even some physical. The mountain isn’t the gloomy place you’ve imagined either. Stop looking for the hidden shadows and give yourself a chance to see the beauty in the things around you. You’ve reached the emerald pinnacle, take in a deep breath and know the walk down will be easy and fun.

Additional Insight:

You’ve succeeded in the uphill climb and you’ve crested the top of the mountain. Take a moment to look back at how far you’ve come and allow yourself to feel a sense of pride at your accomplishments. But also, please stop worrying about continuing the climb. You’re not only at the top of the mountain, you’ve crossed over the crest and can see the meadows and fields below.

Yes the memories of hardship still sting and may weigh heavily within. But the are only past memories that can’t take hold today, unless you allow them to. So stop focusing on your tired legs and take a seat for an hour or two to rest. Take time to look up and see what’s before you. The greenery, the beauty of nature, the world is laid out before you; ready for you to explore and discover.

Get your nose out of the digital device. It only holds fake satisfaction. The intangible things that you can’t reach in and touch, smell or taste. Give yourself permission to live in the real world today. Take a walk outside, stand by the window and watch the movement of nature as the wind blows by. You can learn a lot from nature, but first you have to take notice and allow yourself to see.
