Defining What You Believe

What Do I Believe?
A Student’s 1st Assignment

Before you can begin your spiritual journey; what ever that journey is, you have to know where you’re starting from. What do you believe and how does it relate to your spiritual path? Are you looking for a spiritual path, but don’t know which one fits your current beliefs? How are you going to assess where you are today with where you want to be, or where you’ve come from, if you don’t know what you believe today.

It’s easy to sit down and answer questions off the top of your head when talking with someone about what you believe. You jump from topic to topic and you may not even realize how the subjects are interconnected. You can give one description today and two weeks from now, you’ll have a slightly different description. And you won’t even realize you’ve altered your view or perception.

If you take on this assignment, you’ll see how much that ‘easy to answer’ scenario changes. When you’re writing those answers down, putting thought to paper you are forcing yourself to really think about what you believe. You’ll begin writing an answer to a question you were sure you knew, only to discover that you may not be so sure about it after all. It also forces you to connect the dots. You’ll find that as you’re writing an answer to one question, that might contradict your response to another previous question. And suddenly you have to re-think an entire subject. Continue reading

Evolving The Spirit

Karma isn’t the only thing that can set up thought patterns and actions in your life. How you think affects the way you feel. Our own thought patterns effect the health of our body, mind and spirit.

When you’re creating an uneasiness or “dis-ease” in your body, by the way you think, feel and approach each situation in your life, you create energy that will manifest in your physical body. So each emotional thought pattern is really an underlying “cause” of a physical illness, or emotional situation in your life.

We all set up recurring thought patterns in our subconscious that affect how we live our life. These patterns could be self doubt, a lack of confidence, or emotional perspectives based on how you interact with others. These thoughts can come from societies preconceived notions about the kind of person you are, from family and friends, and from your own views about situations you have experienced in your life.

If you are a person who has been through many failed relationships, you could develop a thought pattern that causes you to expect failure in any new relationship that comes your way. Which is a way to set up a self fulfilling prophecy, even when your own “expected perception” is wrong. Continue reading

Spirit, Soul, Body – Living As One

Part of living and walking your talk, is learning to live as One with the Divine I think it’s hard for us to put it into a box of this life as Spirit in you life. Whatever that is to you, walking your path means bringing your spirit into your daily life and expressing the love and compassion in all things. Sometimes that can get confusing and people struggle with the concept of becoming one with spirit. How do we do this, what aspects of self are we uniting and connecting. How do we live the talk and belief of our spiritual path?

It can be a daunting perspective to grasp for some. And that’s understandable. Many spiritual teachers talk about “Becoming One”, and explain why it’s important. But how many break it down and explain the details of what that means and how it can be accomplished? Today, we’ll look at how Pagan Metaphysics looks at this concept and how we can become one with the self. Along with the Divine in your life.

To start we need to break down the aspects of self. Who are we? How are we connected and intertwined with the Divine in the first place? Living life actually starts with understanding the processes of physical Life and Death. You can read more about the Pagan Metaphysical view from “What Happens When We Die – The Process of Life and Death”  here on Springwolf Reflections. Understanding who we are as Spiritual beings and how we choose our past lifetimes to create a new embodiment helps to visualize the components of self that we’re bringing together. Continue reading

Decoration Day
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day.

Regardless of the exact date or location of its origins, one thing is clear – Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War and a desire to honor our dead. It was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed.

The date of Decoration Day, as he called it, was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any particular battle.

Tis The Time Of Beltain & Samhain

Arctic Wolf Fire

The Festival of Bel’s Fire

May You Have A Wonderful Holiday Celebration!

Region has a great deal of influence over early religious and/or spiritual celebrations. Especially in ancient times. While the Celts are generally seen as an individual group of people today, they were diverse and individual regional clans in their time.

They shared mythological stories, or perspectives, but they weren’t exactly the same. Different regions may hold a different set of deities on a higher level than others, or not include them at all.

Because of this, Bel has many names and many stories are attributed to him through out the old Celtic countries of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Even Gaul was included in that region of Celtic culture (Gaul (Latin: Gallia) was a region of Western Europe during the Iron Age and Roman era, encompassing present day France, Luxembourg and Belgium, most of Switzerland, Northern Italy, as well as the parts of the Netherlands and Germany on the west bank of the Rhine. ~ Wikipedia:Gaul). It’s 04.14.14 – Does It Mean Anything?

Number 4 by Springwolf © 2014 Today Is April 14th, 2014 (04.14.14)

If you’ve been to Reflections before, you may know that 4 is my most favorite number. It has always been present when important events have occurred in my life. So of course I was going to take a look at what the number means within a Numerological perspective.

So does the date have meaning? If you believe in numerology of course it means something. But which numerological method you follow, will impact the analysis of the number.

Many people think there is only one pattern of number analysis. In actuality there are several. Mathematics is the only language shared by all humans regardless of culture, religion, or gender.

Many of the ancient cultures: Babylon, China, Egypt, India, and Japan were using forms of numerology long before the Greeks and Romans. Over the centuries each culture has created its own method of analyzing numbers, or they’ve put their own spin on existing methods.

Numerology is the study of the divine or mystical relationship between a count or measurement and life. It has many systems, traditions and beliefs. To learn more about Numerology, you can read The Bare Minimum Basics of Numerology and begin your own research.

For now, it’s 4.14.14; sure is a lot of 4s. So what significance is in today’s date? Continue reading
