Looking With Better Eyes

How We See, Creates What We See

Last evening I received a comment on the Once In A Blue Moon post here on my blog.

Comment:
You have a nice picture of a wooden chalice BUT it has a picture of a trap[ped] demon on the outside of the chalice. If you don’t believe me then look at the chalice close up!

It’s been a year since that post was published and this is the first time someone has mentioned anything like this. I’d like to share some insight about this perspective and how we see the world through the lenses we create with the energy we establish around us.

I looked at the cup in question (posted below). I asked my husband and son to look at the cup without telling them about the comments posted on the article. Continue reading

Family Caregiving For The Elderly Or Sick

Divine Holistic Healing

Compassion and Healing

Living With Chronic Complainers

Getting old or being sick isn’t easy. Living with those who are feeling the aches and pains of age and illness isn’t easy either. They often seem angry all the time, never have a nice thing to say about anything or anyone and their negativity can easily bring down the entire house in an instant. You want to be compassionate, you want to be there for your family when they’re in need. But even the best of people can only take so much before they go crazy themselves.

From the perspective of the older or ill relative, they already feel as though they’ve become a burden to you. If it’s a parent you’re taking care of, remind them that they took care of you when you were young and now it’s your turn to take care of them. Tell them that the U.S. is the only country that doesn’t treat it’s elderly with the utmost respect and dignity. In most other countries, the elderly are revered and honored. In many countries of Asia, it’s an honor to be selected as the one who is responsible for caring for their elderly parents. Continue reading

Learning From Hardship – Sing your own song!

Carole Bourdo - "Wolf Song"

Carole Bourdo – “Wolf Song”

Yesterday I allowed my 9 year old to play on my computer. That turns out to have been a mistake. About an hour into his foray of watching some lego video, he receives a message over the browser window. Instead of reading it and asking his dad or me about it, he clicked a button and went on with his video. Something he has been told NOT to do. And he discovered the reason…he infected my computer with a pretty nasty virus!

Thankfully both Daddy and I are IT geeks. But my IT skills are more related to mainframes and corporate servers, than desk top computers. Thankfully Daddy is the desktop King. It took the entire day from about 10am to midnight to fully correct the infection and ensure everything was ok, running right and safe again. With a few extra checks and tweaks this morning, my laptop is virus free and more tightly secured. Which includes not allowing our little Prince to touch my laptop again!

So..what’s the point to this story…While the King was fixing my machine I let go of that nervous irritated energy by doing some spring cleaning. Which involved turning the cushions over on the couches and the chair I like to sit in with my laptop. When you have a 9 year old, it’s a good idea to vacuum under the cushions once a month. In my chair I found enough miniature legos to build a robot. Along with two pencils, a pen and Oh My Stars! 3 cards from Faery Tarot Deck! I didn’t even know they were missing! Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Temperance – Inverted

Temperance: Inverted

Don’t lose your temper today over things you have no control over. You can’t ‘make’ others do what you want or need. They must want to do it for themselves. Winning friends and influencing people doesn’t happen when you’re getting mad, yelling or quietly seething with anger. All this does is create more of the same negative destructive energy. Keep calm today and stay focused on the bigger picture of success and abundance. Don’t give up hope and it won’t give up on you!!

Additional Insight:

This week may seem as though everything is going against you. You can choose to feel as though you’re being kicked while you’re already down. Or you can get up and stand up against the oppressive energy that’s being created around you.

You don’t have to see the world as win or lose, for you or against you. It’s not going to happen on its own. You must take physical steps to bringing your dream and needs into reality. You can do this! Don’t give up and fall on your knees where others kick you while you’re down.

You can view the world in the manner you want it to be, as if it’s already here. Put your positive visions into action and help the Divine Creative energy work for you, instead of against you.

If you’re looking for that special person in your life, clear out half of your closet and make room for them in your world. If you’re looking for work, get up in the morning and get ready to go out the door to work, even if that work is in your kitchen (for now). If you’re looking for help, do a search for organizations that can provide the help you need. Put your positive thoughts into action and feed the good energy to manifest what you need!

Daily Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Hermit – Inverted

The Hermit : Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t let the whirlwind sweep you up into the darkness and drama. Choose your companions well today and avoid the negative drama queens/kings. Keep your thoughts in the positive light and allow the glow of inspiration to fill your day. Remember you have free will and choice. Use them well.

Additional Insight:

You don’t have to hang around with the people who pull you down and zap your energy. You have the choice to say “No”, or “I can’t right now”. You don’t need to make excuses or justify your choices. If they can’t accept that, then try to explain in a loving way that you understand they’re going through tough times, but so are you. And you have chosen to rise above the negativity and have a good day despite the issues. Then walk away. If they’re in your office, simply you have to take a break and go to the bathroom, you’ll talk to them later. Nice easy way to get them out of your office and defuse any potential clash.

Have a great day and Blessings Be To Thee!

Living In Balance

The Balance Of Life and Spirit

Black and WhiteMany people these days are taking a good look at themselves and their lives, trying to find a balance for achieving happiness. Or at the very least contentment. They look at how they interact with their family unit, how they conduct themselves within business matters and how much time they spend on making the all mighty dollar and that illusive career or achievement of success. And many realize they’re living a life out of balance and wondering how to find the solution.

A lot of people shy away from looking within as part of the recipe for change. They think of looking within and an exercise to become critical of the self and that introspection seems like it only makes things worse.  They being playing the blame game of what has been, or what choices have made that contributed to the imbalance. Guilt for what they did or didn’t do, isn’t going to go back in time and change those things. Continue reading
