Clearing The Negative and Setting Protection

Everyone has the ability to feel subtle energies around them. I’m sure you can think of a time when you walked into a room where an argument had been happening, feeling the anger or angst. Maybe you’ve even shared a story with a friend saying “You could cut the tension with a knife”.

You don’t have to be psychic or overly sensitive to the energies around you for this type of event to happen. It’s part of our natural instincts as living animals. Human animals maybe, but we still have the ability to sense what’s around us.

In today’s world meditation is viewed from two perspectives, from the spiritual form of enlightenment and becoming one with spirit. Or through the eyes of mainstream medicine as a non-denominational practice that can relieve stress. If a non-denominational practice interests you, try the 5 Minute Meditation for bringing in a little relaxation and escape from the anxieties around you.

Take 5 Minutes To Balance Your Energy

Balancing Your Energies

Meditation in both forms of devotional and non-spiritual exercise has been shown to be beneficial for relieving stress, improving health and increasing productivity. But for many it’s more than an alternative medical approach to dealing with stress and anxiety. You can read more about the Proven Benefits of Meditation, even if you don’t include a spiritual aspect to the practice.

Too much of anything isn’t a good place to be. Living too much “up there” or “out there” can keep you from paying attention to the physical world you’re currently part of. Being flighty can create unwanted circumstances that cause you to drop things, miss things, or keep you from thinking clearly about what’s at hand or needs to get done.

Feeling weighed down, heavy or dragging across the Earth is also an extreme that can cause problems. It can pull you down into despair, sadness and create a lack of desire or energy to do anything that needs to be done. Continue reading

Clearing The Negative & Healing From Within

We all go through times of negative self talk. Most of us are often our own worst critics. When we buy into these destructive self assessments we open a door that attracts more negativity into our world. And often times that begins a the snowball effect, rolling down hill getting larger and more overwhelming.

But it’s not enough to simply stop the negative thinking, or taking in the negativity from others. We often create a void that wants to be filled with something. If we let it be, it more often than not becomes filled with more or returning negativity.

The easiest way to correct this problem is to fill the void with beneficial energy that will help you heal from within and promote a sense of well being through your day, week, month and life.

Had A Good Time At DQ’s Miracle Treat Day!

Supporting Children’s Hospitals

Back from the meet and greet at my local Dairy Queen in Thornburg Virginia.

If you missed the event earlier this morning, you can still support the cause. Buy a Blizzard anytime during the day today and part of the proceeds will go to local area Children’s Hospitals.

Visit Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day website to learn more about today’s event happening all over the country.

It was pretty fun in Thornburg. Met some great people and a few fans too. When I arrived I was met with a sign about the event as I walked into the store. Look, that’s me on there; now isn’t that cool?

Vickie Carey (author)
That’s me! =D

Representatives from our local area Children’s Hospital were there. Along with the DQ store and regional managers. Oh…of course the Blizzard was there too!

Check out the fun from around the country –

If you didn’t make it out this year; I hope we can see you next year for DQs Miracle Day. I’ll be there!!

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

It’s lonely at the top. You can’t shake your responsibilities, not can you express your frustrations without taking them out on others. But you’re really not alone when you remember to rise above the pettiness and look at the lessons the path is trying to teach you. Stop being the punching bag for everyone else and say enough. You’re the boss. So take control, make the tough decisions and solve the problems instead of only talking about them and pushing them farther out in hopes of having them resolved for you. They won’t be.

Additional Insight:

Whither you’re the boss in business, in the household or just your own path, you don’t have to be anyone’s scape goat or punching bag unless you want to be. So if you don’t want to be, you’re the only one who can stop it.

Being the boss means taking responsibility for the direction of your life. Don’t just talk about what changes you’re going to make. Work to make those changes a reality. Yes it takes effort, yes it takes time, yes it will take confrontation and putting your foot down. But you’re the boss. Remember that and you will empower your position and your confidence to make it happen.

You don’t have to be mean (though that might be needed with some). So remember you’ll catch more bees with honey than vinegar. You don’t have to be vindictive. There’s a difference between needing someone’s assistance and ensuring your business runs smooth and efficiently. Don’t fire the one you need. But you don’t have to keep the one costing you business either.

Stay calm, get focused and put your ideas into action. Walk your talk!

Stop day dreaming and pay attention to the work at hand. Your lack of focus will cause you to pull up the plants in your garden instead of the weeds. Don’t let your frustration and impatience get the best of you today. You have work to do and things that need your attention. If you give them your time and attention, you’ll undo a lot of work you’ve already done to put your plans and dreams into place!

Additional Insight:

Even though your energy is depleted, now is not the time to give up and push things to the side. Wait till tomorrow afternoon and this weekend to relax and regain some of your energy. Today it’s important that you remain focused and stay on task. There’s a time and place for play, and a time and place for work. Don’t throw away all your hard work, simply because your tired. Take a 10 minute nap this afternoon and then get back to work.  But stay focused. Mistakes can undo all the hard work you’ve already achieved. You’ll be glad you made the extra effort today.

A simple hug can go a long way to showing someone you care about their struggles. Whither its emotional conflict, or stress and anxiety from work or daily life, we all could use a little hug now and then. Just remember, when you give a hug, you’re getting a hug too. It’s going to be ok. Share the positive and watch how it spreads through the day.

Additional Insight:

Remember there’s always someone who has it worse than you do. Be it more stress and anxiety, or more struggle in their relationships or home life. Be thankful for the blessings you have in your life. At least your cups are facing in the right direction to receive more bounty. So share some of that positive energy with those around you. That hug maybe just what they needed to get through this day and carry them into tomorrow where their own blessings will be turned around.

Six of Swords

Keep your eyes on the future and the plans you’ve already put in place. There will be a great deal of distraction today, but don’t let it get to you. They’re mostly good interruptions reminding you to enjoy life while you’re working along your path to achieve your goals.

Additional Insight:

Taking a few moments to stop and smell the roses isn’t going to derail your plans for the day. Sometimes we have to be reminded of the blessings we have along our path already. Make sure you take notice. Some of these things are the reason you’re working so hard. Don’t get so focused on the end goal and lose them along the way.

You Can Only Change Yourself

But That Will Change How Others Respond To You

Introspection & ChangeEveryone knows the adage “You can’t change others” or “You can’t learn lessons for others” when dealing with negative situations. Those wise old sayings come from centuries of experience passed down from one generation to the next. But it seems in our desire to be helpful and show compassion we have to be reminded of their message constantly. If you continue the same patterns of response, you are allowing others to control your emotions and direct your path. They don’t have to change you, because they have the ability to manipulate you through their own actions and your consistent patterns of response. They already know how you’re going to react, because you’ve done it so many times before. In doing so, you become an enabler and through your own actions, you promote the negative behavior you want changed in the first place.

This can occur in any type of relationship. It’s more often associated with relationships that are impacted by addiction. But it can also occur in work situations with a boss, or co-worker. Continue reading
