Many people ask me about a particular card in a Tarot spread they laid out the night or week before. What does it mean, what might it be trying to tell them and how should they apply that to their spread? I can’t answer those questions for people. Why? Because they never share the image of the card or the intent behind its placement in the spread.
Many readers today think that the Moon card, for instance, means the same thing in deck A as it will in deck B. It doesn’t. It has a general category, but the meaning of the card is hidden within the images of that card. And since each deck is different, the message in the images will be different.
Additionally, if the card is part of the Major Arcana vs. the Minor Arcana that will also have influence on the meaning and message of the card. In general the Major Arcana deals with the higher consciousness, the spirit, spiritual karma, lessons and the soul’s mission in this lifetime.
Where as the Minor Arcana will be influenced by the physical aspects of day-to-day life. Your thinking process and perspectives and how those attract or repel energy around you. Continue reading →
You are the Sun in your life. You are the source of its light. You decide what will be nurtured and what will be burned. You control what will be seen and what will be in shadow. Don’t let the nagging and negative voices dictate what can be grown or what will be locked away. Believe in yourself and let your light shine with respect, humility and confidence. Do this and success is yours.
The rays of the Sun are like ribbons upon the Earth. Each light taking you to a different time in your day. When you view each moment from the ground, you may not see how each is connected and intertwined. But when you move above the physical world and view the moments from the higher self, you can see how you touch each piece of the world around you.
Some of your light shines bright and warms that moment in time and those who share it with you. Some of your light might pierce the ground and burn its nutrients away. Some of your light may hide behind obstacles spreading shadow and doubt upon the path you tread. And some of your light might enhance the road allow you to see more clearly. Continue reading →
The Wise Old Wolf : A Healthy Ego Allows You To Be You
Is The Ego Bad?
Today I saw one of those inspirational FB images and it brought up a thought that I face every week during counseling. It was titled “Overcoming Your Ego” and listed several steps to accomplish that. From my perspective, the steps were overcoming arrogance, or egotism, not ego and that’s an important difference.
The word “ego” has been used as a metaphysical term to describe the self for centuries. By definition it is: the “I” or self of any person; a person as thinking, feeling, willing, and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and from objects of its thought. ~Dictionary.com
A healthy ego, allows you to be who you are as an individual. It also allows you to be you and let’s you respect others for who and what they are as well. Continue reading →
Stop focusing on the lack and start working on solutions to turn it around. Yes it would be nice to win the lottery, but you can’t sit around waiting for that to happen. So stop putting everything you have emotionally in that ticket and start finding ways to get back on your feet. Start with defining your budget and stop wasting what you have on things you don’t need!
Now is not the time to splurge on anything. You can’t complain that you don’t have enough to survive and the go out and buy that new outfit, or that fancy new phone. Sure you can justify a wide range of things and why you must have it, but you’re only fooling yourself. And you know it.
The guilt you’re creating is from your own making. If you want things to turn around you’re going to have to stop wishing them away and start working to fix them in practical ways. It’s time to change the attitude and start focusing on what needs to be done.
If you’ve been working on the plan, great. At some point you’re going to have to start implementing it. You can plan from now until the end of time and convenience yourself you’re working on it. But a plan is nothing but a piece of paper until you start putting it into place and making it a reality. Continue reading →
Keep your eye on the prize, but don’t ignore what you have. Being too focused can cause you to miss the important things in life that you can’t get back. A photo or video cannot replace being there. Set your priorities, do what you must, but make sure the ones you love are not the cost of your success. It will be a hollow victory otherwise.
Setting goals are important for everyone. But working toward them with blinders on will defeat your purpose from the very beginning. Everyone wants to stand up proud and scream “I did it”, but if there’s no one there to hear it, or to share it with, then your triumph will have no value.
Everything in life needs balance. Too much of anything, even if it’s something good for you, can be toxic and detrimental to your life. Nothing is worth the cost of those you love. Don’t lose them over your blind ambition.
Remember to take time during the day to enjoy those close to you. Remember it’s not the amount of time, but the quality of time which is important. An hour for dinner in front of the TV is not quality time. An hour at the dinner table, sharing stories and talking about the day will improve your life in more ways than one. Continue reading →
As humans we know that Apex predators, such as ourselves, can adversely affect the world in which we live in. Over hunting, over fishing and destruction of our natural resources have put humankind on a stopwatch that counts down to our own extinction. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Have a look at this amazing video on The National Geographic website, showing how one species can have a massive cascading effect on the entire ecosystem in which it lives… and even alter the geography of the area. All for the betterment of the area and those in it.

Gifts can come in many forms. An exchange of ideas, feelings or actions can some of the greatest gifts of all. Don’t turn your back on those who try to give something back. No matter how small the gesture seems to be, it maybe all they have to offer. Accept it with grace and gratitude.
You may not be expecting anything in return, but don’t get upset when someone tries to give something back and it’s not what you think it should be. Or not what you wanted. It maybe it’s everything to them and all they have to give.
Homemade bread, pies, or an exchange of services maybe the most important thing to some people. Holding more value to them than anything that could be bought.
Give others a sense of self pride and allow them to return you kindness. Even if you don’t think it’s necessary. Don’t take their moment away from and make it seem like what they have to give has value. Allow them to stand up straight and feel they have paid the debt even if you don’t think it needed to be repaid. Continue reading →
Make sure your cups are upright and ready to receive. Your increase in prosperity is already coming in and you should have a few new things to share. Count your blessings and concentrate on what you already have. But remember prosperity isn’t only about financial gain; so don’t take those around you for granted.
Prosperity and abundance come in many forms. From financial, physical, mental and emotional you have some good things coming your way. Make sure you’re open to receive your blessings, no matter what they might be.
You may think something new is going to be a burden, but don’t focus on the short term. There’s more available to you than meets the eye.
Share the joy of something new to come into your world and bring with it laughter, smiles and a sense of well being. Miracles happen everyday and sometimes you only need to stop and notice their magikal occurrences.
Show your appreciation for those who add positive energy to your life. Acknowledge those who give you strength. Thank those who walk their talk and live their lives by example to give you inspiration to stand up in your day and welcome even the tiniest of blessings that come your way.
We all go through our days taking little things for granted. It’s not unusual, it’s not selfish, it’s not necessarily a bad thing either.
Most people don’t notice how fortunate they are until something breaks or needs to be replaced. If you’re blessed, you simply add an errand to your week and go pick up whatever it was that broke. But not everyone has that luxury. And it’s when you take that for granted, that you may need to be reminded of how blessed you really are.
For some people the toaster that broke yesterday can’t be replaced. There’s no such thing as having an extra $20 to pick up a new cheap toaster at the local discount store. Even that $5 toaster at the local Good Will store is out of reach. That $5 maybe all they have in the world right now, and it’s needed for milk and bread to feed their child. There is no such thing as an “extra” anything to waste on something they don’t absolutely need.
It’s amazing how many times I hear about conversations like this text message on the right. It seems when someone is struggling through every day life, even those around them don’t truly understand what they’re going through. Until they talk about little things that they take for granted.
