Be Yourself

Yes those tests are fun and some can be rather humorous, but are they really you? Probably not. They were probably created by someone looking to have a little fun, or maybe even to advertise some product they’re trying to sell. Very few of them have any real psychological substance to them.

I can’t tell you how many emails, letters or conversations I’ve had with people who have started a sentence by saying “I took one of those online tests and it said I’m….”. Even if you’ve taken a test for fun, repeating the result more than three times starts making it a real definition of who you are from your own perspective.

Repeating a perspective three times and it becomes recorded in your memory. It turns into a belief of how you see yourself. It’s a thought you replay or if it came with an image, a picture that can pop into your head over and over and over, for years and decades to come. You believe it, so you implement its perspective or sentiment into your personality, your character and how you react and relate to the world around you.

Some people might say, well what’s wrong with that? I like being the Goddess Isis. Or the Angel Gabriel. Or akin to Mae West or the movie the Movie Alien. If it’s the characteristics used to define those characters or titles, then by all means associate yourself with compassion, strength, confidence or whatever attribute you like. It’s the energy of the character you can link yourself to, not the character them self. Who may have more baggage attached to them, than you may realize today.

Be careful when you say “I want to be just like you”, because you don’t know all the hardships and struggles someone may have gone through to become the person they are today. And you could be setting yourself up for similar tragedies without even knowing it.

You are the perfect incarnation of the Divine spirit here on Earth. No one else has your unique qualifications to live your life, learn your lessons, receive payments on karma owed to you, or repay the karma you may owe to others. You are you for a reason. Accept yourself. Approve of yourself. Be the best you, that you can be. Spend your time on being who you are and love who you are.

Moon Phase Calendar – Update

"In Harmony" by Collin Bogle

“In Harmony” by Collin Bogle

Following The Phases

I’ve received a lot of emails so far this month about my decision to end the Moon Phase Calendar provided on Pagan’sPath.com. I made the announcement that this is the last year we would be providing the yearly calendar and that seems to have stirred up a little discontent.

I’m thrilled so many of you have found the calendar helpful and useful in planning your rituals and gatherings. But thanks to technology, I can offer a replacement that’s better than the static calendar I offered.

I wrote a review of Android apps I’ve tested out for Sun & Moon Watching On Your Phone. I don’t have an Apple device so I don’t know an equivalent app for your iPhone, iPad or equivalent device. But I’m sure there are many out there who offer the same options as the ones I reviewed. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Four of Pentacles

4 of PentaclesIf you don’t take care of what you have harvested, someone else will come in and take it. Don’t be left with nothing in your pantry. A garden doesn’t grow when not tended to. Nor can it be sustained only by maintenance. The same plants will only provide so much fruit before they dry up. Don’t let fear hold you back from expanding your field and planting your seeds wisely.

Additional Insight:

Whither you’re venture is a project you’re interested in, or a business, don’t be afraid of its success. Everything needs to grow and your fear of getting bigger will not only stop the growth, it will eventually kill what you have already created.

Competitors will see your weakness and come in to take what you have built so far. Leaving you and yours with nothing. Not even the garden you have tended to for so long. Don’t become complacent and feel satisfied with what’s on the table. You will use it up and have nothing left to share with your family or friends.

Use the work of others as inspiration. They became successful because they believed in themselves and took the risks that allowed them to expand. Whither the expansion is financial, people, supplies or equipment, or all of these, it is needed to not only grow your project but to sustain it as well.

Trust in your abilities that you can handle what has already been put on your plate and more. Don’t let fear rule your lack of success. It’s time to grow and expand your dream. Many others are depending on you and it’s time for you to get out from the shadows and start allowing your dream to become what you have hoped it could be. Trust the advice of those who have been there already. They know how to make things work for you, instead of you working for “it”.

Believe in yourself, even if no one else does. But you must trust in yourself as well. Because no one else is going to follow you or stick with you if you don’t take the chance in yourself first. Stop worrying about what can go wrong, and get excited about what can go right! You might discover that what you really wanted all along is still ahead of you and you simply needed someone who cares for you, pushing you along.
