Be a little goofy today. You’re letting the stress weighing you down too much and that’s not good for your body, mind or your spirit. Allow yourself to bring in some healing. Dance in the rain or go toss some snowballs around to let off some steam. Surround yourself with positive energy and let the fun run free.
Additional Insight:
Everything in life needs balance. Even paying attention and being focused on the negative actions around you, need to be balanced with positive exercises to re-energize you psyche.
It’s ok to be a little goofy and fun during the day. There’s a place and time for everything. A little laughter before a meeting can alter the flow of a stressful discussion. A bit of silliness afterward can put everyone at ease and allow them to focus on the task at hand, instead of what’s happening to their personal career or employment situation.
Holding in all that angst is part of the problem. The more anxiety, anger, fear or stress you hold within, only draws more of that same energy to you. Finding a way to release it and let it out is the best way to change out the negative and bring in the positive.
Whatever that thing is for you to let off steam and relax, plan some time for that today. Whither you sit down and have a cleansing cry, or punch a bag at the gym. Maybe you like writing, so pour your emotions into a letter to yourself. Remember to end the moment with a smile and self pep talk to bring you back to even keel. If you don’t do it, who else is going to do it for you?
Even if you’re at home, you can find something to make you smile and feel a little lighter. Talk to yourself out loud, heckle the tv program you’re watching, or watch a funny movie. You can even find some funny video’s on YouTube to change your attitude.
Here’s one of my favorite that I use for this very thing! We watch videos of Late Night CBS Talk Show Host Craig Ferguson. .
If you like laughing, here are some of my favorites: We start with “Geoff Makes Craig Cry” in a good way. My son loves “Craig Cracks Himself Up“. And then there’s “The Chuck Norris Apology“. And a million more.
We truly love Craig and Geoff. He’s gotten us through many tough times, down times and sad times. Nothing seems so bad after you’ve had a good laugh.
