Be watchful of your thoughts this week. Stop letting the negativity get in your head and dismiss the choices that will bring you success. Letting the fear play over and over could feed the concern you have instilled in your mind, even when there’s no reason for it. The other shoe isn’t going to drop. The floor isn’t going to drop out beneath you. You’ve paid your dues and it’s time to accept the flow that’s leading you to a new place. Go where you’re needed and let go of the past.

Additional Insight:

Being Mindful isn’t simply a spiritual practice. It’s a method of controlling your thoughts and talking yourself out of the worry and anxiety that isn’t even present in you life. It reminds you to be careful what you think and how you think about it. It teaches us that we must be balanced in our thoughts and that too much of anything (good or bad) isn’t good for us. The New Moon for July occurs at 7am on the 4th, eastern U.S. time.

My friend Rev. Lyn Williams sends out a reminder every month on FB to Write Your Abundance Check.

I think many of us could use this, so I’d like to share it with you. It’s a great way of putting your hopes, faith, dreams or desire for abundance into physical action.

Prayers For Your Lottery Ticket

Even if the News doesn’t realize it, there are still a lot of people who are suffering and struggling everyday. For some the only hope they have is that 1 lottery ticket. Hope can carry you through one more day, over one more hurdle and help you face the day to come. It doesn’t matter what the reason, but that ticket is all they have.

This was reinforced for me this week when I posted a comment on the Old Farmer’s Almanac about using green grapes around your garden to keep slugs from eating your flowers and veggies. Another person replied “I can’t afford grapes for myself, much less slugs”. A lot of people know how that feels. I do, things were really bad for us after the recession.

When I pick up a ticket, my family and I light a candle together and say a little prayer to my friends the Faeries.

We’ve struggled hard with all our might.
Please pull all our numbers and end this plight.
Take us out of this hardship and fight.

Happy Friday the 13th, 2016!

It’s another occurrence of the 13th falling on a Friday. And to Pagan’s that’s a good day!

Fear of Friday the 13th is known as triskaidekaphobes.

While the mainstream Western World runs in fear from Friday the 13th, many pagans should shed those made up connotations and revel in the day as one to be celebrated with joy and excitement. It’s a time to let go of the old that maybe holding you back and welcome in the new. It’s a day to honor the Divine (whatever that is to you) and connect with spirit for progress, and positive transformation. It’s a good day to create new ritual tools, such as carving a new wand, fashioning a new broom or even simply cleaning off your altar and re-organizing your supply closet.

Whither you’re Pagan or not, everyone here at Springwolf Reflections and Spring’s Haven would like to send out our wish for you to have a Wondrous and Happy Friday the 13th to One and All!

I received an email this past week asking a question. When I replied the response bounced back with an eMail address error. I can’t respond to your questions if you don’t give me a valid email address. In these cases I try to respond here on the blog in hopes the sender will see an answer to their question.

Here’s the question:
My question is it possible to do my own rituals without all of the ingredients required in some spells. The reason why i ask is because i am afraid to follow certain ways because on sites and forums i run into people that want to give advice but expect trust from the beginning and can be disrespectful.

I was also wondering how to be able to tell if a spell will cause harm because i dont want to cause harm in any way and it feels like all of the spells i come across as they will harm. Continue reading →

Decoration Day
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day.

Regardless of the exact date or location of its origins, one thing is clear – Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War and a desire to honor our dead. It was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed.

The date of Decoration Day, as he called it, was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any particular battle.

When Crow, Raven, Rook and Jackdaws Come To Visit

Sometimes when we are in an intuitive state, something will grab our attention to add to the information we seek. This happened to me on August 14th, 2014 while I was doing my morning work. Part of which includes pulling today’s Tarot Meditation card and divining a message.

On that day I typed a line “Why do you insist on focusing on the worst case scenario“, the digital photo album that sits next to my pc popped up the picture of the crow shown below and he grabbed my attention. Letting me know there’s more to this statement than we may realize.

If you’ve been following along with us over the past few months, you know that Crow Magik has been working fairly hard lately in our little part of the world. So much so that you can’t help but notice their presence.

Crows and their cousin the Raven are the messengers of change and transition. But that’s not always bad. Often times transition brings good things that we need and maybe even things we’ve been asking for. Even though we as humans often have a hard time with change, it’s the only constant in the Universe. It cannot be avoided.

Crows and Ravens bring us this message and remind us we are moving and our actions dictate the direction of that movement. They let us know things are in transition and now is the time to be Mindful of our thoughts, communications and actions. What we think, say or do will impact the direction of our movement and if we move forward with positive action, or fall backward and repeat old negative patterns. They signal that change is occurring and only we can create the direction of that change, forward.  Continue reading →
