We Remember In Respect, Compassion And Love

September 11, 2001

It was 11 years ago today when the unthinkable became reality, forever changing our lives. Known simply as “9/11”, this date should be remembered for the innocent victims in New York City, Washington D.C., and Shanksville, Pa.

Along with the first responders in all three locations, some of whom lost their lives in the service to their communities and to those in dire need of assistance. Not only in the early moments of the tragedies, but in the waning hours and over the months as they themselves fell victim to the unseen weapons in the aftermath that eventually attacked their own bodies and claimed their lives.

And to all those servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the resulting War on Terror in far away lands and even here at home.

We will Never forget.

Our prayers and compassion to all of these people, their family and friends. May the GreatSpirits give strength to endure and love to remember.

So it is.

Sometimes A Smile Can Empower Someone To Survive

“Looking at the face of a friend, let me know I’m going to be Ok”

What Face To Face Communication Can Do

Today many are seeking spiritual comfort as they try to hold onto hope that things will improve in their lives. Or as they face challenges in war and military service. For some, hope is all they have to make it through one more day.

Sometimes a person simply wants someone to listen. Often a simple phone call can get them through to the next week. But for some a face to face moment of communication, where compassion can be seen, can go a long way to helping them make it through yet another day of despair. It’s amazing how much a kind word or simple smile can lift someone out of their fear and hopelessness.

How many times have you heard someone say “I found strength from her smile” or “Looking at the face of a friend, let me know I’m going to be ok”. Visual communication can say so much more than an email, tweet, or instant message. I can provide a greater sense of connection and understanding than a simple voice can. Continue reading

What Books Should I Read?

Time For Reading

Suggested Book Lists

I’m often asked what books I recommend for those getting started on their spiritual journey. You mean other than mine? 😉

I have two recommended reading list, one at Amazon and one at GoodReads. These lists are exactly the same, so don’t think you have to do a comparison here. It’s easier to keep a list of recommended books on these sites, because they change from time to time. This way I can add new books and share them with others who frequent two of the more popular book sites.

GoodReads Listopia

The more you learn about a topic, the more research you’ll want to do. Make sure you read about a subject from different authors to gain insight into the different perspectives and ideas. Pick and choose what feels right to you, when it comes to your beliefs. The more you read, the more you’ll be able to recognize what’s good source material from that which leaves something to be desired.

Have fun reading.

A Story Of Hope

Healing Through Compassion

When Compassion Succeeds

When Spiritual Psychology Goes Right

As a Pagan Minister I receive a lot of requests from people looking for spiritual insight and help during times of trials and challenges. Often times, these requests come from people who are out of state or even overseas. They can be people who live in areas that are highly saturated in a Christian community, or military people who want one of their own to talk to.

Imagine being in crisis and wanting someone to speak with in spiritual terms, but the only available help are Christian Ministers who don’t understand your pagan beliefs. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone say the minister only wanted them to pray for salvation and to convert from their wicked pagan ways. If they would do that, their problems would disappear. For many, this isn’t the help they’re looking for and in fact, it causes some to feel even more helpless than they were prior to the “Spiritual Counseling” session. Continue reading

Once In A Blue Moon

The Blue MoonHistory, Significance and Ritual

The moon in all it’s phases have long been important and significant to Pagans. Many call the Moon GrandMother Moon who shines over Mother Earth and watches over her during the night. Only giving way to Father Sun during the day. He is seen as Mother Earth’s consort and he watches over her during the day.

Of course GrandMother Moon can show up in daylight hours, to keep an eye on her grand children from time to time as well.

Pagans have honored the full moon in ritual, both private and public for eons. We have acknowledged her influence over our lives each month and used her light for varying reasons and in varying ways. Continue reading

Ghost Hunting With Your Phone

Get Your Tinfoil Hat

EVP & EMF SmartPhone Apps

I’m having an absolute blast with my new phone. It’s my first SmartPhone! Anyway..

If you don’t already know, I’m a co-host of a paranormal radio show called The Ænigma Project. Last night the Show’s creator Paul and I were talking about smart phones and the many useless Ghost Hunting apps.

So anyway…after the show we talked a little more, Paul gave me some great advice for what to look for and I did some research online while we talked. Paul has been professionally ghost hunting for over a decade so he has a lot of more experience and exposure to these things than I do. He also has an iPhone so trying to find something that was compatible with my new Nexus was going to take a little longer.

After doing some research and comparing reviews, I settled on Ghost Radar. If nothing else, it’s been very entertaining. I should probably say that I’m an old school psychic and have tended to refrain from technology when it comes to “proving” the existence of spirit and ghosts. I do read academic research and studies on a variety of esoteric topics, such as the effects of meditation on the brain and physical being. So I tend to shy away things like this.

You can also learn more about Ghost Hunting Tools and Alternative Equipment from one of our past Ænigma shows.

Lose The Attitude – Compassion Doesn’t Come From Accusations or Anger

Control Your EmotionsJust because you’re not in tears and falling to your knees under the stress of hardship; doesn’t mean you’re not screaming inside like a raving lunatic!

The Hypocrisy Of Spiritual People

NEVER Judge a book by its cover. Some people keep worry, stress and anxiety inside where it destroys every fiber of their being. You may never see the tears, the shaking hands, or the constant worry on their face or the sounds of struggle in their voice. But that doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Are you a spiritual person who “Walks Their Talk”? Or are you a spiritual person in name only who’s actions fall back on old patterns of emotional drama? Continue reading

What Is Remote Viewing?

MeditationIs It Really Something You Can Learn?

This is the ability for a psychic to gather information about an item hidden from their physical view, often at a long distance. The term was introduced by Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff in 1974.  A large market for lessons and services popped up around this term, especially since it’s been incorporated into modern day entertainment mediums. There have been books, businesses and claims made by “teachers” about gifts and abilities to accurate view remotely and provide information about objects and items.

The problem with this is…Remote Viewing isn’t new or special or something that has just been discovered in the waning years of the last century. It’s a phrase used for marketing and selling services and goods.

The Concept
In actuality this is a very common ability practiced by everyone on the planet. Yes I mean everyone. Being psychic isn’t unique or a power that only some possess. Everyone is psychic to some degree. Some of us are more aware of this 6th sense than others and we’ve learned about it, learned to develop it and use it on a daily basis. Many people say they have a gut feeling about this or that, or they have an intuition about certain things. These phrases are simply another way of saying you’re tapping into your psychic or 6th sense ability.

Have you ever lost your keys and tried to stand in your living room to “see” where they are? That’s what this is all about. Nothing more, nothing less. The more connected you are to your psychic senses, the easier it is for you to connect to an item and see what it is, or where it is, or gather information about it. Continue reading

The Correspondence Of This and That

The Meaning Behind Correspondence Lists

Think For Yourself

People have been making associations between all sorts of things in life, in spirit, and in nature, for thousands of years. Partly because of the belief that all things are connected and interconnected. Partly because humans want to believe that there’s meaning behind everything that happens.  Therefore it makes sense that some things work together, in a similar manner, in a supportive direction, or for a common purpose. But why are there so many contradictory lists?

Why do some people say a black cat is bad luck and others say it’s a good omen? Why do some people say red is anger and others see it as passion? Why do some insist that the cardinal direction for North represents Divine Energy and others insist that the Divine is located in the East?

The answer is pretty easy actually and we can thank Einstein for putting it in scientific terms. Everything is relative to location.

Your location in the world, the evolution of the culture you live in, the history of your society, even the spiritual beliefs practiced in your region can all play a part in defining a list of correspondences that may come across your path. Simply put, how you relate to the world around you and how you feel connected to the “this or that” in your life, all depends on where you are and the beliefs you choose to follow. Continue reading
