If you feel as though you’re carrying baggage around on your shoulders, your half way to letting go. In order to resolve issues or problems in your life, you must go through the process of Acknowledgment, Acceptance, Forgiveness, Action and Letting Go. Acknowledgment and acceptance is often the easy steps to getting rid of unwanted emotional baggage.
The forgiveness, action and letting go are the hard parts. But through inner reflection, counseling and meditation, you can learn to forgive and let go. Sometimes forgiving and letting go on a spiritual level can help you release the pain and emotional hurt you feel on a physical level as well. Keep in mind that “Forgiveness isn’t for the other person or situation, it’s for YOU and it’s about healing yourself.” Continue reading →
The New Moon this month occurs on Friday, October 16th, 2020 at 3:31pm ET.
My friend Rev. Lyn Williams sends out a reminder every month on FB to Write Your Abundance Check.
I think many of us could use this, so I’d like to share it with you. It’s a great way of putting your hopes, faith, dreams or desire for abundance into physical action.
I love Rev. Lyn’s ritual, but I did change it a little to implement some Pagan specific perspectives. If you need some abundance in your life, give it a try. You’ll find the full step-by-step ritual here: Sunday Homily: Writing Your Abundance Check.
What is Meditation?
Prayer allows you to talk to the Divine and petition for assistance. Meditation allows you to become one with the Divine and discover the divine within your inner being.
Meditation has been practiced around the world in every known religion, from Buddhism to Christianity. Many people have meditated for spiritual communication, personal fulfillment, as a form of worship or just to relax and relieve stress. During this century western societies have begun to recognize the benefits of meditation.
There are numerous forms of meditation techniques around the world. If one doesn’t work for you, don’t get discouraged. Try another method. This is one of those things where you simply need to keep going until you find the method that works for you. The method I teach is usually called Free-Form, there’s no mantra, no drumming or specific stance or posture. There’s just you, your mind and learning to relax and go within yourself. If you’d like a step by step process for Free-Form Meditation, you can find my Learning To Meditate here on Reflections. Continue reading →
Note: Spiritual Psychology and Dealing With Grief This article is a shorter complied synopsis of Rev. Carey’s Ph.D. Doctoral Dissertation. (vcarey-phd-dissertation.pdf)
Trials, Trauma & Grief Going through trials and trauma are not easy for anyone. The key is to not allow the past and actions of others to control you now or your future. We can’t go back and change the things we went through. But we can learn from them and heal ourselves in the process. My motto is: “You cannot change the past. You can only change the way you allow the past to affect your present and your future.”
What ever the situation, making change to deal with the trials of life, or letting go of the past is not easy for anyone. No matter what the situation or what the loss, be it the death of a loved one, the loss of a friendship or love relationship, the loss of innocence, allowing drugs or alcohol to control your path or a hurt that has been felt and carried for a long time; our psyche goes through a period of mourning.
