Be Cautious Of Social Media Connections

Be The Alpha LeaderGuilt By Association

A couple of years ago I read an article about being careful who you “Like” on social media sites if you’re a small business. It’s unfortunate that “guilt by association” is something we must be cautious of in a spiritual community, but sometimes it’s even more important in our world.

We make our way in our spiritual practice or business based on our reputation and through word of mouth. Here our reputation is everything! Few things can damage your reputation as quickly as a link to an unsavory person or their business.

Because of this article, I am very cautious about accepting invitations online. Unless I have time to do some research or already know and trust the person, I don’t accept the connection. Whether it’s on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or any other social media source. It’s not something I do out of arrogance or disdain. But it is done for purely selfish reason; to ensure my reputation is always within my control.

Today a friend who has a small spiritual candle business in the north-west contacted me asking for prayers because of this very issue. She makes the most amazing scented candles with an emphasis on aroma therapy. She uses her own energy to connect with the Divine in her life as she creates the wax and pours the candles. She includes an incantation as she pours the wax to infuse each candle with a specific energy. It’s truly a special gift and talent. (At this time I’m going to keep her name and her candle business out of this article as she wants this story to be shared, but wants to be anonymous).  Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Tower

The Tower

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Lightening doesn’t strike the same place twice, so make sure you’re ready for an opportunity when it arises. It’s not luck that will get you in the door. It’s being prepared when the moment presents itself. You know what needs to be done. Get to it today and over the weekend.

Additional Insight:

You’ve been allowing your negative talk to divert you from your plan. The Faeries told you to stop the self doubt and today they’re telling you to get back to basics! You already know what you need to do. Do it.

If you haven’t written out your plan, that’s what you need to spend the weekend doing. If you’ve written out your plan, you need to get back to it and finish or start the next step on the list. Or at the very least go over it and update it as needs be.

Plans are only set in stone if you drop them on the desk and never look at them again. Don’t file it away and give up on your goals. Doing so may cause you to miss the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Or worse, fail to live up to expectations because you didn’t complete your mission to be prepared for it when it arrived.

You have things you must do in order to get to the things you want to do. Some of those steps may not seem like items that will help you advance your cause. But they are things that need to be completed if you’re going to get to the steps you’re sure you need to do. Stop putting items on your list off until another day. Others are waiting for you to get them done and they won’t be there to help you when you need them to meet the opportunities of the future when you need them most.

Get back to the basics of building the foundation. Only then will your tower be strong enough to survive the chaos around you. And only then will you be ready when that all important moment of “luck” arrives.

Merry Lughnasadh or Imbolg!

Arctic Wolf Fire

“Arctic Wolf Fire”
By Tom-in-Silence

The Summer Fire Festival

Whether its Lughnasadh for Celtic paths or Lammas for Wiccan paths, the summer fire festival is always a fun event to honor the changing seasons!

As with most things on the pagan calendar, different traditions celebrate and recognize seasonal festivals at different times of the year. Here in the northern Hemisphere, Lughnasadh is recognized on August 1st or 2nd.  It’s the time to recognize and honor Gratitude, Abundance, and bring things to Fruition (Getting it done!)

In the Southern Hemisphere this is the time for Imbolg, the Festival of Lights, when honoring the goddess Brigid and Purification, Initiation, and Dedication to one’s path is recognized.

There are many ways to give thanks and honor during this 1st harvest festival. It celebrates the warmth of the sun, the rain and the faery folk who help tend to the gardens, flocks and fields. As a Celtic festival of the harvest, what better way to give thanks than to prepare a meal with the harvest of your own garden.

Which ever holiday you observe, may it be a wonderful and blessed celebration!

From all of us here to all of you;
Merry Lughnasadh & Imbolg!!

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Ace of Wands – Inverted

Ace of Wands - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t allow the low hanging fruit to limit your reach for something bigger. While those little things might provide instant gratification, they’re blocking your view from the bigger picture. Don’t let fear hold you back. Take the chance and go for the bigger opportunities. You deserve them!

Additional Insight:

The Ace of Wands represent the essence of Enterprise, Inspiration, Distinction from an individual perspective. When inverted it’s letting you know that your self doubt is holding you back from your potential and opportunities. Stop the negative self talk!

What more do you need to prove to yourself that you have the knowledge, ability and experience to reach for the brass ring? You’re doing the research, continually learning and make strides forward and you’re putting into practice what knowledge you’ve gained. All this should be building your confidence, not breaking it.

The fear from others, the fear of the past, the fear of mistakes, the fear of getting what you want are all creating the negative thoughts within. Come to the realization that you will make mistakes. You’re not perfect, but neither are all those other people who have ambition and have achieved their goals. Each one of them made mistakes, many create some really big ones. But each one believed in them self and made the stride over the hump and got through it. If they can do it, so can you.

You do deserve the big prize. You have paid your dues and lived through the struggle. You made your plan and put it into motion, knocking each step off as you built mini-successes. The instant gratifications are nice, while they last. But if you really want the bigger prize, it might be time to start ignoring the little things you can conquer and up your status for the big game!

Now stop the damn pity party and spouting stupid excuses for why you can’t. Get off your butt and get to it! Believe in yourself; especially when no one else does. You can and you will do this!
