When You Have A Good Heart

A long time ago, someone much wiser than I said:

When you have a good heart:
You help too much. You trust too much. You give too much. You love too much. And it always seems … you hurt the most.

I can relate to this old adage. I think any Mother can without question. But I also know we are responsible for our own feelings. So the question isn’t why do we get hurt, but rather why do we allow ourselves to feel hurt?

That’s an easy one to answer, but it’s not an easy answer to live with. Because it’s our own expectations that cause us to feel hurt. Continue reading

The Ænigma Project – Mondays 9 PM EST

The Ænigma Project is a discussion group focused on the realm of the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in our lives. Through multiple view points and experiences, we seek to enlighten our listeners and elucidate that which has become hidden beneath the many layers of misunderstanding and fear.

07/22 Our Topic: The Oakville Blobs
What was the clear, jelly-like substance that rained down on Oakville, Washington. On August 7, 1994 during a rainstorm, a mysterious translucent gelatinous “blob” like substance fell in and around Oakville. Many towns people fell sick with flu like symptoms and some domestic pets fell ill and died. A local doctor had the substance tested and reported that it contained human cells but strangely they did not have any nuclei, which nearly all human cells have.

For clarification, this goo has a name. It’s called Star Jelly and it has appeared through out history. Reports show events similar to Oakville have occurred as early as the 1400s. And as recent as February 2013. In 1950, four Philadelphia, Pennsylvania policemen reported the discovery of “a domed disk of quivering jelly, 6 feet in diameter, one foot thick at the center and an inch or two near the edge.” When they tried to pick it up, it dissolved into an “odorless, sticky scum.”  This incident inspired the movie The Blob.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Queen of Swords – Inverted

Queen of Swords - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Searching for strength? You’ll find it within. Pay attention to what’s on your plate and keep your nose out of other people’s business. You have enough to take care of and deal with. Clear your energy and put a force-field in place, starting from within the center of your being. The negativity and angst will not serve you well today.

Additional Insight:

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what other people are doing, we forget to take care of ourselves. If you’re feeling drained, that’s because you haven’t taken care of your own needs lately. Sometimes shutting the world out for a day or two can help you refocus and re-energize. You need that today.

This is the perfect time to sit down for 5 minutes and clear out the negative flow of energy that has been hanging over you for the past few weeks. Push out the stress and anxiety, let go of the anger and guilt. None of these things are serving you well and they’re only taking more energy to deal with than is necessary.

The key to clearing away negative feelings is to start within the center of your being and push it out. Many people set a shield of protection without doing this first; but that only traps the negativity inside your bubble. You want to get it out of there!

Take some time for a 5 minute Clearing and Healing meditation. Considering this is a full moon night, you might like to incorporate this healing meditation with a Grand Mother Moon Ritual as well.

It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

It's Raining Cats and Dogs

It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

Where Did It Come From?

Tonight I was doing a little reading and came across something I had to share. What caught my attention on this story was the cat sleeping on top of the computer monitor. The cat could be the twin to my cat Mooshu.

But once I started reading the story, this paragraph said..”you have to share this!”

Some authorities tie the idea to Norse mythology. Odin, the Viking god of storms, was often pictured with dogs and wolves, symbols of wind. Witches, who supposedly rode their brooms during storms, had black cats, which became signs of heavy rain. Therefore, “raining cats and dogs” referred to a storm with wind (dogs) and heavy rain (cats).

Anything that shares the mythology from pagan cultures and it’s symbolism is worth a share I think.

The article is from The Old Farmer’s Almanac, which I absolutely love! And it was posted on their Weather Blog under “Cats and Weather – The Folklore” by Evelyn Browning Garriss.

It’s really worth the read and tells you where this saying really came from.

A Little Inspiration For Your Day

Morning Sunrise

In the early morning hours,
as the sun begins to rise;
you can hear the sounds of nature,
as the world first opens its eyes.
The birds cry out a morning song,
as the warmth begins to spread,
with the squirrels chattering right along,
and that’s all that needs to be said.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Six of Wands – Inverted

Six of Wands: Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t triumph yet, you still have unfinished business to attend to and someone is waiting for you to do it. While you’re celebrating, remember what you promised someone else you’d do. Keep the trust others have put in you intact. And remember, in business your reputation is everything. In life, it’s the only thing.

Additional Insight:

There’s a difference between important and imperative. While your work has been important, it’s not what has needed your attention. Ignoring what’s imperative tells those you’ve promised, they’re not at all important or worse you have no respect for their needs.

Don’t promise if you’re not going to deliver. It destroys the trust others have put in you, along with the respect they have for you.

When others are depending on you, prioritize who’s needs are more dire. The guy down the street might be important to business and bring in that large cash prize. But your promise is important to the one you gave it too. And regardless of what it costs you, the trust it creates will always be the one thing you cannot buy.

Step up and be the one that others know they can depend on. Make sure your reputation is one of good standing and respected above all else. Doing so will create the good karma you need to make your life a success, in business, in friendship and at home with family.

What Is A Spiritual Expert – Series

Eyes of the Hunter

Eyes of the Hunter by Charles Alexander

A Six Part Series of Leadership and Inspiration

One of the first set of articles I created for my new blog in February 2012, dealt with what it takes to be a Spiritual Expert. I wrote these at the behest of my students entering into teaching themselves. Asking me to give some guidance for success and warning for the pitfalls.

I finally decided to put the idea into action when I started receiving a large number of questions from others about how to get started on their path of Shaman, Priest or Priestess. So it maybe time to talk about this series again.

It’s important to note that this path of spiritual expert is not an easy one. Ask any Minister, Priest, Shaman or whatever title one has taken and they’ll probably agree. The moment you put this idea of Spiritual Leader out there into the Divine Universe, you set energy in motion to mold you and your life.

If you are committed and sincere, the lessons brought to you will be designed to fulfill your goal. Some will be interesting, others will be difficult and some will even knock you on your backside. Be careful what you ask for; you might get it. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Ace of Swords – Inverted

Ace Of Swords - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

You cannot triumph over adversity if you’re stabbing someone in the heart to do it. Your actions speak louder than words today. Focusing on the “green” monster at the cost of what’s really important in your life is not success. Be careful about what you sacrifice. You may not be able to get it back.

Additional Insight:

If you are ignoring those who care about you and have supported you all this time, they may feel you’ve turned your back on them. Even though the hard work you’re putting in is for them, they may think what’s more important is the time they get to spend with you.  Here in the U.S., the money monster is “green”, it maybe a different color where you are. But what ever color it is, it isn’t the most valuable thing in your life.

Swords deal with strength and success when upright. But stress and strife are prominent when inverted. Every deals with stress in their own way. Some shut down and block out the world. Some sit in the darkness, or sleep through the day, others cry, and then there are those who yell and scream about anything that doesn’t work their way. Don’t adversely judge those for doing what they do, when your response is to throw yourself into a project that ignores all others around you.

Balance in life means saving time for those you love as much as it does for working when it’s time to do so. If you reach the top and have the financial abundance you seek, but have no one to share it with; what value does that success really have?

No expects you not to care about lost hope, or the struggles to feed and care for your family. But at least twice a week, you should be putting their presence in your life up front and at the top of the list. The abundance of love is equally important in your life. It gives you strength to endure, courage to fight and holds you up to face one more day. There really is something to the old adage “Love conquers all”.

Lost Hope

Howl And Let It Go

What Do You Do?

What do you do when you’ve reached the point of despair, no hope and all pride is lost? The news media prefers to cover sensationalized stories instead of actual news. So they don’t realize how many people around the world are still struggling and sliding backward without employment.

But whether or not the news covers the economy or not, doesn’t make it any less painful for families who are suffering and trying to make ends meet. And most, don’t even come close. They are losing hope, if they have any left at all. The pride they once had in themselves was given up a long time ago when they had to start asking for help. It dwindled away even more when they started asking for hand-outs.

Here in the States, it evaporated completely when they were told they don’t qualify for welfare or food stamps because of this reason or that. You might be surprised how many middle-class families who lost their jobs and are still struggling to find work don’t qualify for social assistance. It’s staggering. Here in Virginia, if you own a home, you will not qualify for aid. No matter how bad your situation, it seems many simply aren’t bad off enough and they’re punished for it.

I receive emails from families, single moms or dads and each one is heart wrenching. Each one has their own tale of struggle, looking for work and not finding any. Either they’re over qualified, or they’ve been out of work for so long their skill set is out dated. Or so they’re told. I can relate. Add to that people who have worked their entire lives who have crossed that 50 mark, and their age plays into the mix as well. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Chariot

The Chariot

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Searching for balance may lead you in an unexpected direction. It’s time to decide if what you want is really what you need. Perhaps it’s time to let go of the things that have let you down and move forward to the things that will fulfill your own mission.

Additional Insight:

Nothing in life is merely black or white. Look at your path with balance, not ego. Real life is filled with a lot of gray areas that impact the road before you. It’s not as simple as taking this road in order to build that road.

The path you take has many projects that need your attention along the way. Each one will build upon the other and pave the road before you. If you skip activities along the way your path will be fraught with an uneven surface, pot holes and crossed lines. And you may even lose some of the precious cargo you’re carrying with you.

Tunnel vision is never a good thing in life. Not only will you lose those you care about most, you’ll also miss out on the beauty of the world that exists all around you. Stop ignoring everything else and bring balance back into your life.

If you’re in a partnership, remember it takes both of you to make things work. Putting on blinders undermines your partners contribution and shows you don’t respect their opinion or ideas. If your ideas are faltering, then perhaps it’s time to listen to the one person who has your best interest at heart. The balance of energy from both of you will rebuild broken ties that have held you together and balance not only your energy, but it will empower and strengthen the path you tread together for success.
