How You Think, Creates How You Feel

You Can Think Yourself Into Illness

“I’ve been worrying myself sick” an old wives tale that has a great deal of truth in its proverbial message. Sometimes we need to listen to the old wisdom of generations past. They didn’t have the medical achievements we have today and they had to pay a great deal of attention to what they did and said to keep from getting sick. And back then, getting a cold might mean the difference between living through it or dying.

From the Metaphysical perspective there are two potential approaches to understanding illness in the body. The first deals with karma and past life experiences that affect the current incarnation. Viewing an issue from a karmic perspective can sometimes answer the “why” did this have to happen question. But don’t assume that means negative karma is being worked out or that someone is being punished in some karmic fashion. We are all here to learn lessons and sometimes that means allowing someone to sacrifice their existence for the spiritual advancement of others. Continue reading →

Close your eyes and focus on what’s within the crystal ball. You have the ability to align your energy with Divine Creation and create the day or dream you desire. It takes more than magik it happen though. So if you feel blocked or face an issue that you can’t seem to resolve, look within for the answer. You already know what to do, you simply have to tap into that stream of consciousness to see it.

We sometimes forget that we’re both spiritual AND physical beings. Sometimes making things happen requires a little energy from both sides to create what you need and not only what you want.

You don’t have to go it alone. Close your eyes and concentrate on that Divine creative force in your life. Whither it’s The Great Spirits, The Thunderbeings, the Goddess or “God”; that force is in your life, ready and willing to help you energize what you dream.

Make those dreams positive ones. Don’t use them to manipulate others to do something they otherwise might not do. Use them to overcome issues or resolve challenges that present themselves to bring lessons onto your path.

Remember you can, because you are One with the Divine in your life!

Stop the negative talk and focus on what you have going for you. You may think things are turned around trying to hold you down. But look again, you’re floating beneath it all, pushing it upward and letting your own light shine. You’ve got this! Start believing it!!!

Additional Insight:

It’s not a little thing to have love, compassion and self-confidence when approaching your projects and plans. Believing in yourself, even in the face of adversity can create more than a sense of empowerment, it can overcome obstacles and pull positive like minded energy into your ventures.

Negative thoughts, breed negative energy and manifest the same hardships on the ethereal plane. Do this long enough and that energy takes form on the physical level and challenges fall at your feet each time you try to take a step forward.

Look in a mirror and decide what it is you want to see in the reflection. Are you looking for a scowl or a smile? Do you want to see anger and disgust, or joy and love? Do you want to see the reflection of success or another day of hardship and challenge?

YOU are the one who decides what lies in the reflection. Whither you’re reflecting the image of self, your path ahead or the path behind you. You choose which occurs in your life. So stop looking for the bad things, stop expecting the other shoe to drop, stop putting yourself down, and stop being so damn critical of yourself and the things around you.

You have come so far and you have accomplished so much already. You haven’t failed, you’ve survived! And today, that’s a really big thing to have accomplished! Now it’s time for you to take the survival and put it to good use. Empower yourself, believe in yourself and take the next step to achieving your goals and dreams. You really can do this! Because you already have succeeded! Now believe it and take the next step.

The Importance of Secular Government

Secular:
of or pertaining to worldly things or to things that are not regarded as religious, spiritual, or sacred; temporal: secular interests.

There’s a lot of talk in the U.S. today about the founding fathers establishing our constitution based on Christian values and therefore America is a Christian Nation. Unfortunately this propaganda by religious zealots is false and not only breeds intolerance, it misrepresents the intent of the founding fathers or attempts to re-write American History.

I believe it’s important for all people to speak up and correct these misconceptions if our nation or any nation is to remain free. Many have given the ultimate price to ensure those freedoms and if their sacrifice is to remain meaningful, everyone must ensure the attempt to change history does not succeed.

Through some research I happened upon the following article that can explain the historical position of many of the founding fathers and their predecessors. Thanks to the author for allowing me to reprint their ever so well written article here. For more reading, check the resources provided by Mr. Walker at the end of this article.

A few definitions to help up front:

Deism:
belief in the existence of a God on the evidence of reason and nature only, with rejection of supernatural revelation ( distinguished from theism).
Atheism:
the doctrine or belief that there is no God, disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.

They argue that our political system represents a Christian ideal form of government and that Jefferson, Madison, et al, had simply expressed Christian values while framing the Constitution. Watch for the underlying motives of the gifts you receive. They seem wonderful at first, until you’re asked to do a favor you normally wouldn’t do. It may all be innocent, but make sure you consider all the consequences before proceeding or saying yes simply out of guilt or a feeling of being indebted.

Additional Insight:

Sometimes gifts come with strings attached. It’s nice to get the attention, but the wrong attention can be worse than no attention at all. Don’t let your desperation fall into a trap. Not everyone is as kind and compassionate as you and they maybe trying to use you for their own self-centered reasons or cause.

It’s not always easy to say thank you, but you can’t accept this. But it maybe the best thing for you to do this week. Showing that you have the strength, confidence and respect for yourself will go a lot farther in attracting the right sort into your life. It will also put those who think of you as weak and vulnerable on notice to “back off”.

Before others can respect you, you must respect yourself. So give it a go and watch what happens when real positive people recognize what you have hidden beneath the surface.

Caution is required today. Someone is trying to stab you in the back while being your best friend to your face. Don’t take words at face value. Make sure you look beyond the talk and examine the actions behind the communication. Don’t let others zap your strength and take your focus on your goals. They’re really not worth it.

Additional Insight:

Actions speak louder than words. And they’re usually the real expression of how someone feels about you. Trust your instincts and listen to that inner voice telling you things aren’t what they seem to be.

Don’t look at things with rose colored glasses. You maybe trying to live on the positive path of a spiritual person, that doesn’t mean you have to set yourself up to be hurt or harmed out of desperation. You deserve better.

Being spiritual also means learning to use your own instincts and higher perceptions to keep you out of harms way. What you see today is only the surface of things to come. So don’t waste your time on someone who doesn’t deserve your attention. You may regret it in the end.

You can shine brightly in the day or night. Don’t leave your best characteristics for the dark where few see it. Be yourself during the day and you’ll be surprised at the positive reaction you receive. You’re worth knowing and many around you would like to get to know you better. So step out of the shadows and let your light shine.

Additional Insight:

Stop hiding behind the computer monitor, cell phone, text messages, twitter, facebook and every other way you communicate in secret. People want to get to know you and the walls you put up during the day keeps them away. It also keeps you secluded from the real you who is dying to get out and shine.

Trying to hide behind the walls does a disservice to you, your talents, knowledge and wisdom. Trying to be what others think you are or expect you to be, does a disservice to your spirit and your mission in this life.

Don’t come across as stand-offish, or arrogant and uppity. Simply be yourself day or night and let others get to know the real you. You can gain friends and influence more people than you think. That’s good for you, good for your social life, good for you career and ultimately good for your spirit.

Sunday Homily: If You Wrote A Letter To Your 16-Year Old Self

Sharing Wisdom With Your Younger Self

What Would You Say?

All week I’ve heard about this letter that Dale Earnhardt Jr. professional Nascar driver, wrote to his 16 year old self. The letter was part of a CBS News project that aired September 12, 2012.

As reported by the media, other Nascar fans and friends who shared their thoughts on the letter, it’s a very moving insight from one of racing’s premier drivers. It reflects on relationships, worries, his career and it even has some humor tossed in for good measure.

It is indeed a very moving reflection from a man who is not comfortable with being in the limelight each and every time he steps through the door. And it made me wonder, if you wrote a letter to your 16 year old self, what would you say? Continue reading →
