Celebrating The Fall Equinox

Mabon (May-bawn) is also known as the Feast of Avalon, the Festival of the Wine and the Festival of the Apple Harvest.

This year the Equinox will fall on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 4:44 PM EDT.

On the equinox, night and day are nearly exactly the same length – 12 hours – all over the world. This is the reason it’s called an “equinox”, derived from Latin, meaning “equal night”.

Today we have better methods and tools to measure astrological events. So we know that this initial accepted idea of equal hours isn’t necessarily true. In reality equinoxes don’t have exactly 12 hours of daylight. But let’s not mess the holiday with that. It’s tradition! Continue reading →

Don’t give up right before the harvest. You’ve worked hard this year! You made it through the winter by being smart. You managed to plant the garden in the spring. The summer wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be. You can’t give up right before the harvest comes in! Stop the doubts and believe in yourself!!

Stop doubting yourself! You’re letting the circumstances talk you into believing you don’t have what it takes or that your not worth the effort to reach for success. You took on the mission even when you knew it would be hard. Those around you know that was a brave thing to do. You did most of the work to get it done already. It would be a shame to throw in the towel and give up now.

You know there’s something left to be done that will carry you through and help you along the way. Others are wondering why you’re fighting so hard to ignore that task. It might be the answer to everything! And it will not have the unintended consequences you think it will have.

Get it done and hand the reigns over to the one person who you trust the most to complete that piece of your business. They’ll take the lead and allow you to work on the other things you love to do most. Together your energy will propel your project forward and you’ll get through this “down” time.

You really can do this! Believe in yourself. Others do. But you must finish what you started to make it a real success! Now stop the self loathing, the self pity and the negative self talk and get to it! Do what you’ve done in the past and align your energy with the Divine in your life. That access to the unlimited energy of creation is what you need right now. You can do this! Really you can.
