Reiki Practice & Perspective

Traditional Reiki vs non-Traditional

Being a Reiki healer is a great practice of healing, but it’s not the only kind of Divine Holistic healing in the world. Asia doesn’t have the corner market on that kind of healing practice and to my knowledge, they’ve never claimed to be the one true Divine holistic healing method. There are many variations of Divine healing and each one has its own name, process and approach. Some don’t like being called Reiki because they believe it takes away from their own traditions and history. Understandable. When you have a tradition that you feel passionate about maintaining, what you call it has meaning.

By the same token, simply calling something “Reiki”, doesn’t make it Reiki. It is up to you as a student or someone looking for healing services to determine what is appropriate for you. But you should know a little about what you’re asking for so you know what is Reiki and what isn’t.

I’ve taken many forms of holistic, or what can be called Divine Energy, healing methods through my half century of living. So I have a small portfolio of healing modalities to compare each one against. For me, Reiki (traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki) fits best with me and what I feel most connected to within my own soul. Continue reading

A Homily: Guilt By Association?

wolfloveBigotry Cloaked In Religion Is Still Bigotry

When people learn you’re a minister, they make a lot of assumptions about you and what you believe.

Of course here in the U.S. the first assumption is that you’re Christian. Once you over come that and spend several minutes explaining that Christianity is not the only religion that employs a clergy based system, you’re spend the next several minutes explaining what Paganism is. Ok that one often takes much longer, after they’ve looked at you as if you’re speaking a foreign language. But if they’re still talking to you, the next set of assumptions come up. What ever you call it, if you’re religious, you must believe what “I” believe. Continue reading

Setting The Motto For 2014

"Merlin In The Moon" by Springwolf 🐾

“Merlin In The Moon” by Springwolf 🐾

The Yearly Affirmation

If you’ve followed me for any significant time, you know that I don’t set resolutions for the coming year. To me it’s an act of setting yourself up to fail, as I’ve yet to meet anyone in person who says they have kept their New Years Resolution throughout the entire year.

Some years ago I decided to create a Motto for the year. An affirmation that will carry me through the good times and the hardships. A phrase that both empowers and inspires hope. One that I can say when ever needed. That I can pull into daily meditations, or recite each morning as I look in the mirror and get ready for the day with a clear purpose.

In last years 2013 Motto post, I reminded you to remember words have meaning and energy. What you think and say, how you act and react creates energy around you. That energy you establish within will dictate the energy you attract to you each day. Start your day with a positive thought and give it energy to manifest.

My Motto for 2014:

I am at peace and live in the moment,
with all the prosperity and abundance I require!

May you have a wonderful, prosperous and abundant new year!

A Homily: Observing The Holiday

TinyHouseLightsPagans Living Amongst The Christians

“I’m not Christian, I don’t celebrate Christmas”, “I’m pagan, why should I be forced to celebrate Christmas”, “It’s too hard to tell your extended family that you do not observe their bastardized holiday.”

I received several messages like these over the past few days. For those of us who do not celebrate the Christian Holiday, no matter what time of the year it is, there’s another way to look at spending time with your family members who do.

You go to parties that are given for your relatives and their birthdays. Moments to mark another year older, or an event for celebrating a milestone in their life, such as a graduation, a new job, retirement and so on. Why do you observe those days? It’s not your birthday or your achievement. So why do you participate in those events? Isn’t so you can share in the celebration of what’s important to those you care about? So you can be with your family and friends to create happy memories while they are here with you? Continue reading

A Lesson In Tolerance

Strength

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

A Tale of Caution

Today’s 12/17 Tarot Meditation Message received a comment on Facebook that generated a bit of interest. So much so that I received a few emails and FB message about it. I acquired permission from the comment poster to share what she said and to give a little tale that I hope answers some of the messages and emails I received.

Let me first put this in context.

The Facebook Tarot Meditation Promo:
Being a spiritual being isn’t measured by who yells the loudest or who degrades other beliefs the most. It comes from living your life in the every day actions according to what you believe. What you express to others is what you will receive back. If you want respect for your beliefs, you must first give respect to others and their beliefs. ~ Click the link to read all of today’s message.

Myranda’s Comment to the Promo Post:
Perfect for me. A “Christian” in my office overheard me talking to one of my friends who is a new pagan about Yule. The Christian felt the need to interrupt us and tell my friend she’s too young to listen to a devil worshiper and she needed to come with her “right now” and pray to God for protection. Some people are amazingly ignorant. Continue reading

Sunday Homily: Mindfulness

mindfulbellBeing Aware

Mindfulness, which, among other things, is an attentive awareness of the reality of things (especially of the present moment). Living in the now and being cognizant of the events you are engaged in at this moment in time.

It’s important to take a moment throughout the day to be Mindful of what you’re thing, how you’re allowing those thoughts to impact what you’re doing and how it resonates with your soul, spiritual mission and mental outlook. Both for a state of being and for a sense of living your beliefs and putting them into practice.

The thoughts you wake up with in the morning create your day. How you think through out the day, create your week. The patterns you develop throughout the month, create your year.

How you think, creates your reality, your health and your life.

It is a state of being where balance and peace within the moment, within the self and being are the center of all things. It’s not just looking at your thoughts, but your present state of attitude and how that translates into the manifestation of actions and reactions.

If you are stressed, anxious or angry, those emotions will translate through you and into your actions. If you’re at peace and mindful of your thoughts, then the energy you create and express will be calm and enlightened. Do you want to yell at the person driving next to you on the highway? Or at the store clerk who’s taking to long to ring up your items? Or is there a way you can translate your spiritual awareness into calm peace and discover why you’re being held up in the first place? Continue reading

Picking Up On Global Events

packhowlImpacting Universal Consciousness

Last week on my facebook page, I asked a question;
“Have you experienced any unusual psychic feelings about something global in the past 2 months? If so, explain.”

Thank you to everyone who answered. We discussed the question and the answers on Monday night’s Ænigma Project, which you can listen to in the recorded podcast.

Because we humans can be easily influenced I wanted to ask a question, without giving too much information.  And I asked those who responded to refrain from reading the other replies until after they’ve posted their own answer, so as not to be influenced by someone else. The responses were all similar in nature with a feeling of foreboding, changes and sadness. Continue reading

A Sunday Homily – Believe In Yourself

Believe In Yourself!

Believe In Yourself!

Learn To Handle The Pressure

It’s not just something ministers try to teach for spiritual enlightenment. It’s also a big part of any competitive sport or business management course. Believing in yourself is a practice that crosses all avenues of life and can provide strength, endurance and success over nearly every challenge we face.

Bob Rotella is a sports psychologist. I learned about him through a Nascar segment that looks at the inner workings of drivers and teams. Yeah, of all places? Yep..even Nascar teams face pressure and challenges to be successful. Bob helps people find their true potential in life, said many of these auto-sports professionals. Many people are “normal” and good at what they do. But many want to take it to the next level. Especially professional athletes. But they’re not the only people who are looking for the keys to success or to help them deal with the pressures of life and attaining the success of their dreams and goals. Continue reading

The Shield of Success

Carpe Diem Wolf Shield by Springwolf

Seize The Day

Visualizing and Creating A Shield of Success

Everyone has a dream, a desire or a goal for their life. Those that succeed and attain their goals work hard for them. Sometimes it may appear as if they’ve had everything handed to them. If their road has been made easier and their path  paved the way to their achievements, they may have earned that golden ticket. Karma is an interesting thing, but sometimes good karma does come back and reward you for your actions.

Simply because someone else had it easy, doesn’t mean their success diminishes or impacts your ability to achieve the same thing. There maybe underlying spiritual reasons that they’ve had it easy and you need to work a little harder. But your lessons are more important to you and your life, than what they have done or did to earn the golden ticket. It’s up to you to take some time and learn what you need to in order to keep the ball moving.

One thing I’ve learned about people who have achieved success is that they never give up. No matter what wall is set before them, they look for a way to climb it, break it down or even find another way around it. But they never let the wall stop them and say “Oh well, I guess this is as far as I go.”

Sometimes that means looking for solutions outside the norm, or thinking outside the box. When I started Spring’s Haven I took a few business classes to get a good understanding about what it takes to start a small business. Continue reading
