Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Seven of Cups

7 of Cups

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

When you sit in the seat of love and compassion, the world around is filled with brightness and abundance. You can clearly see the events of the past, present and future. And understand why the occurred, what they are trying to teach you and how they will manifest with the present patterns in place. If you don’t like those outcomes, now is the time to change them. The dreams you planted in July are already manifesting in the spiritual winds. Take time to think things through, ensure your visions contain what you really need and take time to alter your plans for those details that may not fit your dream. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it.

You cannot change others, all you can do is change yourself. If there’s something in your life you don’t like; it’s up to you to alter how you face that issue. Whither it’s something about yourself, or an issue you face; when you change the pattern of energy, you can change the thing causing stress and strife. In doing this, you change the pattern not only in your life, but in how others react to you as well.

If your dreams rely on how others deal with you, then you must change those patterns you have control over. The ones within yourself. Make sure you have thought things through and created alternative plans in case others do no react the way you hope they will. Rose colored glasses are great when used to change your view of the negativity around you. But they can be dangerous when you refuse to look at the negative patterns you yourself feed energy into.

Be careful what you wish for, be careful how you plan your dreams. Make sure you work out the details and are open to alternatives if things need to be tweaked along the way. Don’t feel as though you must compromise everything, or settle for something less. But don’t be so set in stone that you can not go with the flow of Divine energy as it tries to help you manifest your desires in the best possible pattern of energy for you in this time and space.

History Of Lughnasadh

The Fire Festival Of The Summer Sun

This is the first of the Pagan Harvest Festivals. This is a time where we celebrate the Sun God Lugh, honor the rain and thank the magikal folk of the Tuatha Dé Danann for their help in our own gardens.

As local clans migrated, they took with them their religious and spiritual traditions. Many people believe that during these migrations, names of holidays also changed and Lughnasadh became Lammas. That’s not quite accurate however.

Lammas comes from the Old English word hlafmæsse, which  literally means “loaf mass,”. It was first used in the 15th and 17th centuries by the early Catholic Churches to celebrate the grain provided by the first harvest. In other words, it was another attempt by the early church to co-opt a pagan holiday, make it their own, in order to convert pagans.

Many Anglo-Saxon pagan clans, adopted the name, but still observed the original celebrations of Lugh and the original intent of the holiday. Must pagan purests prefer to ignore the Christianized version of the festival and stick with the early Celtic name of Lughnasadh. As with most things in the world of spirituality, your preferred name should ring true with you. It’s your festival to honor the Sun, the warmth of the summer and their blessings upon the fields. Call it what you feel most connected to, Lughnasadh or Lammas.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Justice – Inverted

Justice - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Injustice resides behind the curtain, but you have the ability to balance the scales and lift it out of its bondage. Going with the flow can sometimes condone the actions of others that harm or become hurtful. Speak out against injustice and condemn those who support its measures. Unverified rumors, slander, bigotry, hate and intolerance grow and survive when others remain silent and allow their energy to infect others. Speak up and condemn the words of hate. Only then can the world begin to change for the better. Even if it’s just your small part of the world.

Additional Insight:

Inappropriate comments will continue and fester injustice when they go unchallenged and ignored. Whither it’s the guys at work making sexist comments, or the relative who discriminates against gays, Muslims or some other group, don’t let their ignorant hate go without challenge.

As long as people think others around them support their negativity they will continue to spread their bigotry, rumor and lies. Silence against those words gives the appearance of agreement and support. And even the littlest comments can take on energy and snowball into something much bigger and more harmful than one can imagine. Speak up, stand up for the “little” guy and stop the propagation of intolerance in your world.

The Spring’s Haven Divination House Journal #2

The Dream Continues

Planning The Divination House

The Inspiration For Our House

So today I started thinking about the practical approach to the house, traveling for Renfaires and other similar gatherings around the country. Or at the very least the east coast.

Now I know about a number of faires here on our side of the U.S. But what I was thinking about were the practical aspects of the house.

What if we need a place to stay. Do we pull the tree house behind an RV or our truck? If we use the truck do we rent a hotel room? Or do we expand the tree house to accommodate some modern facilities, such as a kitchen and bath. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing – The Priest

The Priest

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Your presence brings healing to others. When you allow your spiritual perspective to guide your steps and reactions, you provide inspiration to others in need. Living by example goes along way to getting your message across, in business, in personal affairs and on your spiritual path. Take pride in the positive changes you’ve made in your life, but don’t become prideful. Take a deep breath of confidence as you walk onto a new road, but breath out arrogance. Allow your humility to speak for your actions, and though it maybe hard to do sometimes, it really is ok to take a compliment and say thank you without making a joke out of the praise first.

Additional Insight:

By rising above the drama/traumas of the mundane, you can view the world around you through spiritual perspectives. Doing this allows you to see the reasons behind events, why things have occurred the way they have and what lessons are being shared. There’s no reason to respond with knee jerk reactions and add to the drama that is only meant to manipulate you and those around you.

Responding with calmness keeps the power of battle on your side. It allows you to think things through with intelligence, instead of the expected emotion and planned response your adversaries are looking for. It also provides inspiration to those around you who are looking for direction, a leader or someone to emulate in hopes of making their lives better. When you practice what you preach, you are that inspiration. But don’t let the admiration go to your head. There’s a fine line between humility and ego.

It’s Nice To Have Dreams – Dreams Inspire, Empower and Create Hope –
Give Yourself Permission To Dream!
~ Springwolf

Our Humble Dream

On Sunday July 29th I posted a Sunday Homily “It’s Nice To Have Dreams“, concerning the power of having dreams to reach for and aspire to. In the Homily I mentioned “One of  my newest dreams was inspired by a picture I saw on Facebook. I would like to build this on our utility trailer, haul it to the Renfaire and use it as a divination house. Now wouldn’t that be absolutely awesome?!”

We keep talking about our dream in our family and everyone keeps coming up with great ideas. Including our 9 year old son. Who suggested we make a post on our blog to track the ideas and share them with our family and friends. He said “If we think about it and dream about it and that adds energy to making it real, then wouldn’t more people thinking about it add even more energy?” Well, ok; out of the mouths of babes!

So we’re putting his suggestion into practice. We’ll be updating this post from time to time adding our new ideas and progress to making this dream a reality.

Spring’s Haven Divination House
It’s Good To Have Dreams

When I first had this idea, I shared the vision with my husband who immediately started designing it in his head. When you share your dream with others and they support your vision, the exchange and sharing of ideas can add to the creation and manifestation of that dream. Not to mention, you can come up with some great additions to add details to your vision! Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Eight of Pentacles

Eight of Pentacles

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Work on your designs and creative endeavors. Play around with ideas and see how they fit into your plans for creating what you want and desire. Put your energy toward manifesting not only what you need, but toward your dreams as well. It doesn’t cost money to plan, design and put forth some mental and visual energy toward your dreams. But that energy can keep your hope alive and help the ethereal work with you to manifest their reality.

Additional Insight:

Not only can you resolve issues or problems that you face in your life right now, but you can also inspire you creative thought process to work out the details behind your dreams. Don’t be afraid to think and contemplate about what you want to achieve. Be they long term goals or short term desires, putting energy toward their design is the first step to bringing them into reality.

While too much daydreaming can be bad, not visualizing your dreams can be limiting as well. So give yourself permission to spend 15 or 30 minutes each day contemplating, visualizing, putting pen to paper to make a list, or draw a design and define the details for your dream. You might even add what you need to make it happen or the steps you need to do to get it started.

Today’s card maybe inspired by yesterday’s Homily on Springwolf Reflections: It’s Nice To Have Dreams

Protecting Your Intelectual Property

Protecting The Rights Of Others Too

Friday the 13thIf you have a website or a blog, do you wonder if your words and artwork are safe from thieves? Sadly there are many who steal bits and pieces of the work of others and claim it as their own. I’ve even found complete articles of mine posted on someone else’s website with “By their name” at the top of the page. It amazes me that people think they won’t be found out.

Every now and then you should spend a day doing a Google search for your name, recent article titles, or graphic images. My attorney recommends you do this every quarter. When you find someone has stolen your work, email them and call them on it. Most will respond with ok I’m sorry. Some will simply take down the work. Others will change their open forum to a members only forum and you won’t be able to tell if they’re still stealing your work or not. And some will be down right belligerent and ignore you or write you a nasty letter in response. At that point you will need to decide how irritated and angry you are about the theft.

There are some tips to putting the law on your side. I’ve added some information and helpful ideas on my own Terms & Conditions pages, specifically a new page entitled Image Credits.

The new page also covers how to help others work from being stolen without credit. From copyright language to image searches, I hope this information is helpful to others who are concerned with the proliferation of stolen work. Whither it’s yours, or someone elses.
