How Wolves Trained Humans!

The Gift of Compassion

An Alternative Look At Domestication

This morning my husband shared an article with me that I had to share with you. In some ways because it fits today’s Tarot Meditation message.

As humans we often take credit for things we may not really have control over. We pat ourselves on the back and say aren’t we great and we forget that our success sometimes comes from the opportunities other provide. Even when those “others” are from the kingdom of Nature.

Opinion: We Didn’t Domesticate Dogs. They Domesticated Us.
Scientists argue that friendly wolves sought out humans.

Protecting Your Intelectual Property

Protecting The Rights Of Others Too

Friday the 13thIf you have a website or a blog, do you wonder if your words and artwork are safe from thieves? Sadly there are many who steal bits and pieces of the work of others and claim it as their own. I’ve even found complete articles of mine posted on someone else’s website with “By their name” at the top of the page. It amazes me that people think they won’t be found out.

Every now and then you should spend a day doing a Google search for your name, recent article titles, or graphic images. My attorney recommends you do this every quarter. When you find someone has stolen your work, email them and call them on it. Most will respond with ok I’m sorry. Some will simply take down the work. Others will change their open forum to a members only forum and you won’t be able to tell if they’re still stealing your work or not. And some will be down right belligerent and ignore you or write you a nasty letter in response. At that point you will need to decide how irritated and angry you are about the theft.

There are some tips to putting the law on your side. I’ve added some information and helpful ideas on my own Terms & Conditions pages, specifically a new page entitled Image Credits.

The new page also covers how to help others work from being stolen without credit. From copyright language to image searches, I hope this information is helpful to others who are concerned with the proliferation of stolen work. Whither it’s yours, or someone elses.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Devil – Inverted

The Devil - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Look at things from a different angle, they’re not as bad as you think they are. Others maybe trying to grasp at straws from out of the flames. But you have risen above the fray and are in a position of healing. Don’t judge your day by the complaints and hardships of others. They are still continuing the same old patterns and refuse to change their ways. You have learned many lessons, accept the healing needed from those old negative patterns and are walking toward a positive future! Come on, give yourself come credit already!

Additional Insight:

It’s easy to get pulled into the energy of others and warp your own view of your path. But don’t let those who are always complaining, always looking for a reason to be down and always finding reasons to be angry control your day. If you can’t segregate yourself from these negative people, then focus on setting some good energy shields to bounce their negativity off your environment and back into theirs where it belongs. Close your ears to their voices and walk away when their anger boils over and tries to impact you!

Try to remember that you are the one who has worked hard to change. You have put in the effort, the time and learned the hard lessons in order to break the old patterns and change. You have the strength, courage and energy to face a brighter day. You’ve already done it…so seriously stop being so blasted hard on yourself!
