Earth Day is April 22nd

This article popped up on my news feed and I thought it was worth the read for all Pagan communities.

It’s a well written article, though I’d disagree with Paganism being “earth based”. Most Pagans are nature based and that’s a Universal perspective, not one that’s limited to Earth alone. We care about all planets, stars, moons etc. We are part of the whole Universe; connected and intertwined with all things seen and unseen, not just what’s here on Mother Earth.

Beyond that, there’s some pretty good and I’d add inclusive information here. Along with some very useful and interesting links.

Spring’s Haven is excited to announce our new presence on Reddit at reddit.com/user/SpringsHaven!

If you are unfamiliar with Reddit, it is an online social media community where users vote on content. There are sub-communities, or subreddits, that any user may create that are independent and moderated by a team of volunteers. Subreddits cater to specific topics and allow you to follow those topics on your Reddit home page. Such as reddit.com/r/tarot, reddit.com/r/pagan, and reddit.com/r/paranormal and many more!

Reddit users submit links to online content and vote on which stories and discussions are important. Anyone can join Reddit. Anyone can participate.

President of Spring’s Haven, Rev. Vickie Carey (Spring Wolf) announced today “We are particularly happy to expand our social media presence onto Reddit”. She added, “Reddit has become one of the largest and most active social media sources on the net and we hope we can reach more friends and like-minded people.”

We’ve been monitoring our presence over the past week and we’re already pleased with the results. Our analytics clearly have shown us how popular Reddit has become for users around the world, looking for news, information and stories. We have seen an uptick in traffic here on Spring’s Blog (Springwolf Reflections) and on our business site Spring’s Haven – Spiritual Center.

We look forward to seeing some of you on our new Reddit page and we hope you’ll add your comments to our posts and let us know you stopped by.

Celebrating The Emerald Isle

Today many pagans see March 17th as a day of anger against a Catholic Priest who practiced genocide upon the pagans of Ireland. Much of this angst is over blown and not really based in historical evidence and fact.  But the idea that St. Patrick drove the snakes (pagans) out of Ireland, still exists and brings up passionate displeasure toward the observance of this Priest.

As with all things, this day has evolved and changed in meaning over time. It’s no longer solely celebrating the life of a Catholic Priest who was promoted to Sainthood. It has become much more secular and is celebrated by people in many religions and faiths. Here in the America’s at least, it’s more about Irish Pride than a religious observance.

To learn more, read about Why Pagan’s Don’t Celebrate St. Paddy’s day. And if you’re Pagan and Irish, honor your heritage by donning the green of the Emerald Isle and raising a toast to the ancient Clans of Ireland.

Back on May 15, 2012 I wrote an article about Soul Mates, Twin Souls & Karmic Relationships. It became the most popular post here on Springwolf Reflections. Until, I wrote about my research concerning The Legend Of The Sun and The Moon in June 2014.

“Celebrate the love of your soul mate” and variations of that always pop up around February 14th and Valentines Day. But it’s also a sentiment that people are drawn to when they want to celebrate their love with the one who is most dear to them. The idea however is one that has evolved over time and thanks to the greeting card companies has taken on a different meaning than its spiritual definition.

“Tell me the story about how the Sun loved the Moon so much he died every night to let her breathe.” It’s a beautiful line that pulls at the hearts of many to want to learn more. Storytellers and romantics alike want to know the origins of that line and where it comes from. They want to hear or read the whole story and share it with the ones they love. Continue reading →
