Vote – It’s A Right You Should Honor

I'm Pagan & I Voted

I’m Pagan & I Voted

I’m Pagan And I Voted

Are you tired of the attack ads, political spin, false accusations and fear-mongering? Me too. All the money it took this election cycle to buy your vote is obscene. And that has made many Americans disenfranchised.

Many wonder if their votes mean anything when they’re up against Billionaires like the Koch brothers, Donald Trump and others who have their own agenda.

The only way your vote can be bought is if you don’t vote at all. By not voting you’re allowing those Big Super Packs to court the votes of those who fall into their manipulative clutches.

If you want to change things, if you want the economy to turn around, then stop allowing the corporations to vote for you and stop them from electing representatives that are going to vote for the Corporations and not for you.

The 2014 September Equinox

The Apple Feast

The Apple Feast

Celebrating Mabon and Ostara

There are two equinoxes every year – in September and March – when the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal. These equinox events vary in date and time by a few hours to a day. Generally they occur on or around September 21st or 22nd. And of course it depends on where you are on the planet for the exact time of the event.

Seasons are opposite on either side of the equator, so the equinox in September is known as the “autumnal (fall) equinox” in the northern hemisphere, and in the southern hemisphere, it’s known as the “spring (vernal) equinox”.

The September equinox occurs the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from north to south.

This year, the September Equinox in Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A. is on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:29 PM EDT. In Adelaide Australia the event occurs on Tuesday 11:59 AM. You can visit TimeandDate.com to find the exact time for the equinox in your area. Continue reading

We Will Always Remember

9-11 Never Forget by Springwolf 🐾 ©2012

9-11 Never Forget by Springwolf 🐾 ©2012

We Will Always Remember and Never Forget

Never Forget those we lost, their family and friends.
Never Forget those first responders and their heroic efforts.
Never Forget those who sacrificed their lives in the aftermath.
Never Forget those who volunteered to serve in response.
Never Forget those who didn’t come home from far and near.
We will always remember, with tears, thoughts and prayers.

Arctic Wolf Fire

The Festivals of Fire and Light
Celebrations of August 1st or 2nd

These Sabbats (Pagan Holidays) are observed on August 1st or 2nd, depending on one’s personal Tradition (spiritual denomination). The early pagans were not blessed with NASA or the Naval Observatory, so their celebrations varied slightly from places to place and Tradition to Tradition. Over time these holidays began to find stability as official calendars become more commonplace throughout Indo-European countries.

Even though many parts of the world transitioned to Solar calendars, Pagans still celebrated their rituals on a Lunar cycle. Thus our holiday observances actually begin  at sunset on the evening before the scheduled day of the Sabbat. And that too can depend on where you are in the world.

May Your Season Be Blessed with Abundance and Happiness

Here in the Northern Hemisphere we are still enjoying the warmth of the summer months. Our days are long and Sun is with us into the later hours of the evening. The sun begins to set near 8:00pm; for instance sunset here on the east coast of the U.S., sunset is officially 8:14pm.  Where as in the Southern Hemisphere of Winter sunset is officially at 5:32pm. I don’t know about you; but I’ve always enjoyed the fall and winter holidays the most. They start earlier and there’s more time to sing, dance and be merry!

Words of Wisdom, Thought and Inspiration

DotingTea2A Few Gems To Share

Recently we have discovered a lot of search requests here on the blog for quotes and sayings. We really don’t have a place to list all the little gems of wisdom that Spring has shared throughout the years. And the increase in this search request got us thinking. Maybe we should have a place for the ones we like the most.

Everyone here at Spring’s Haven and Spring herself, want to say thank you for the inspiration to build this section of the blog. We’re ever so humbled and thankful that some of you have wanted to find more sparkles of wisdom to inspire or share with your family or friends.

So we’ve added a page to the About section of Springwolf Reflections. Come check out what we’ve found lying around here and there. We’ll be adding to the list from time to time as we find a new gems and old.

A Correction – In Full Disclosure

OMG! Face Plant!!

OMG, Face Plant!!

Numerological Updates

If you’ve read my blog you know that I often say “no one is perfect” and “we all make mistakes”. Well I made a doosey!  And thanks to a visitor who pointed it out; I can correct it!

Geez! It is embarrassing when you make dumb mistakes. It’s worse when you have proof readers who miss it too; and it goes unnoticed or unreported for well, coming up on 2 years now! OMG!

That means wherever I’ve made a post about the Alphanumeric perspective of a number…it’s wrong! Wrong I tell you! Dayum! So now we’re going through the site for the last 2 years and correcting our stupidity! At least I can say “our”…and I don’t feel so alone! 😉

We’ll be adding a link to all the articles that have to be updated here on this post, in case anyone was relying on the information from that particular article. We want you to know it has been updated and corrected. It may take a day or two to find and fix everything, but we will be open, honest and transparent about it.

Admitting your mistakes isn’t always an easy thing. But it is the right thing to do. We could delete the comment from the person who found the error and go about changing things without anyone knowing. But if we did that someone out there might be holding onto erroneous information that directly affects their view or perspective of themselves or their world. And I can’t have that! It’s not the right thing to do and I value both my integrity, reputation and mostly those of you who read our sites and rely on our information too much to do that. So we will be open and honest about our mistake, screw up, stupidity….oh the words we could use! Continue reading

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July

Happy Birthday America

Happy Independence Day to all Americans everywhere!
Especially to our service men and women serving here and abroad!
To all those who support our military, in the past and in the present!
To all those who fight for our freedoms and our rights, in everyday life.
Thank you all for your service and all you do to keep our country great!

Many Blessings,
~  Springwolf 🐾

While you celebrate this weekend, remember all those who came before us and sacrificed so much. The men and women of our armed forces of course! But don’t forget those who put all they had on the line for you. The founding fathers, the families and the patriots who stand tall, who fight with their voice or their pen. It takes more than brute force to make freedom remain free. It takes a nation of people from sea to sea.

So make sure you exercise your freedoms each day. Not only on the 4th, but each time of the year when your voice can be heard. Many have died for your right to sing out. So show your respect, not in hollow words of thanks or waves of recognition. But where it counts most, in the town hall meetings, the city square and the voting booth. But do it with dignity, civility and respect. For those who came before you didn’t die to promote hate. They gave of themselves, their family and fate, so all could be free in the land of the brave!

Summer Break

A Little Vacation

Everyone needs a break now and then. And we’re taking our summer break now that all the kids are out of school around here. So we’ll be floating in the water, sitting by the shore around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and telling stories.
