Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Swords

Two of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Put your dreams in a bubble, give them energy to grow and manifest, then set them free. At some point you must let go of the “dream” and start putting action into practice. You’ve planned, you have your ducks in a row. Stop delaying and start doing! It’s not going to manifest by itself! It really is time to start putting your action behind your words.

Additional Insight:

You keep finding excuses not to move forward with your plans. Why? Look around at the support you have. Look at the concrete planning you’ve done. You know what to do and you have the facts and solid steps to back it up.

Stop letting the fear of failure keep you from putting your well formed plans into action. Get your head out of the clouds and 20,000 feet view and come down to reality where action speaks louder than words. Failure is not going to creep up behind you, unless you choose it by sitting back and letting opportunity walk on by.

The longer you wait, the more chance you have of never getting what you dream and experiencing the success you long to achieve. By waiting, you allow others to step forward and claim the whole pie, simply because they took action first. How is that going to benefit your efforts to succeed? Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Six of Swords

Six of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Be careful you’re not looking at those in your life today with rose-colored glasses. You must decide if the thorns of the past and the negativity that went with it is worth holding onto. If not, then stop repeating the patterns and let go of the old ways. Yes it’s scary to move forward into the unknown. Yes you may do it alone. But in Six months time, you will be able to look back on the shadows of the past and feel blessed that you made the right changes.

Additional Insight:

We stress over the struggles we go through every day and make the comment that we want things to change. Yet we continue to repeat the patterns in our life that keep us going down the same rough road.

Sure it’s easy to look back and see where you passed opportunities for change, but it’s not so easy when you’re in the here and now to see them coming. But that’s because you’re so busy trying to fool yourself and see what you “want” instead of what you “need”.

Another Inspiration Reflection

Self Reflection

What you don’t like about someone else,
Look In A Mirror.

Do You Practice What You Preach?

Today I found a FB Share on my feed that annoyed me. It was an image from an extended family member that attacked people in general who are not Christian and don’t believe in Christ as they do. It made me wonder if some people really understand what it means to Walk the path you Talk. Do you understand how to put into practice what you claim to preach? Or even why do they think they have the corner market on morality, intelligence, being a good person or living a respectable good or positive life?

Now I don’t mean all Christians are like this. I know quite a few who are accepting and loving of all people. They are what I would call true Christians. They practice their faith in every moment of their life without judgement. While others are only “Sunday Christians” or Christian when it suits them. They don’t think about the implications of their actions or words, or FB shares and it doesn’t represent what they would say is a “Good Christian”. They simply push a button and move on.

Reverend Troy Mendez is the Dean of the Episcopal Cathedral in Phoenix Arizona and he said something on Anderson Cooper 360 this week that impressed me:  “we believe we are to seek and serve Christ in all people.” You can watch his interview on AC360:Mendez.  I highly recommend it for everyone. It’s a beautiful example of what I would call a real Christian. In the interview Rev. Mendez was talking about the Bill in Arizona that allows businesses to discriminate based on their Freedom of Religion. But his comments apply to life in general and in every situation we may face, not simply for this controversial bill. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Six of Wands – Inverted

Six of Wands: Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

You don’t have to stand on your own. There are many supports that can help you balance your weight and carry the load. You may need to release some of that “I don’t need help” pride and lean on someone for a few weeks while you heal. But don’t look at this as a weakness on your part. Look at it as an opportunity you’re giving to someone else to learn the lessons of compassion, understanding and friendship.

Additional Insight:

Being hurt, whither it’s emotional or physical, is part of life. We all go through it and we all feel weak in the knees when it happens. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about nor is there anything to feel guilty or ashamed of. It happens.

We are judged more for how we deal with the hurt and heal through the injury. Do you accept the compassion and concern from others? Do you wallow in self-pity? Are you afraid to admit someone else was right and your rose-colored glasses were too dark to see the truth? Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Seven of Pentacles – Inv

7 of Pentacles: Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Work on your skills and practice your art. Even the best experts need to practice and evolve with new ideas and perspectives. Don’t assume you know it all. Arrogance will limit your audience and eventually cause your craft to become obsolete. Make sure you’re reading, learning and educating yourself on the new techniques so you can make sure that you stay relevant and productive.

Additional Insight:

No one knows it all or has the corner market on everything. It would take an awfully big corner to do that. All things in life grow and evolve. Even if you’re considered to be an expert, even your knowledge can be expanded with new ideas or recent discoveries.

Make sure you haven’t become to arrogant to listen to those new ideas, no matter who they come from. Someone younger than you may not have all your knowledge or experience. But they may have a new perspective of looking at things that inspired a new way of doing something more easily or more effective.

We must challenge each other and push the edges of our box to expand our thoughts and understandings. Whither we agree or disagree, we always have the opportunity to learn and support each other. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Moon

The Moon

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

It’s in your nature to be up all night. It’s where your inspiration, imagination and problem solving is at its peak. Stop being scared of being in your element. Stop feeling lonely and out of synch. Use the night to search within, meditate, write, draw, do something that expresses yourself. You may discover who you are and what you really need at this time in your life.

Additional Insight:

Many people dread being home as the sun sets behind the Earth. Even those who are home all day by themselves feel something different about the night. The world becomes quiet and they feel sad, alone and cut off.

I know people who sleep with the TV on at night because they’re afraid to be in the dark. But it doesn’t have to be this way. You’re not alone and you’ve been given this time to do what you want to do and maybe even need to do.

Even those people who have someone else in the house, but segregate themselves to their own TV room or their own bedroom can feel lost and alone in a sea of people. But remember, being alone is YOUR choice! You can change that decision and change your life. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: King of Swords

King of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

You must be strong and vigilant to keep the peace. No one is going to follow a weak leader. Stop doubting yourself! You will open the door for others to manipulate your actions. Gather information from all sides and make sure you understand the full scope of the issue. Make your judgement with authority and confidence. Make it understood that if new information becomes available, you’re willing to look at the situation again. But your position is clear and final for now.

Additional Insight:

Being strong doesn’t mean always being at war. It means having the authority and control of self to govern fairly and with wisdom. It means not being afraid to find the other side of the story and making sure you see both sides of the argument. But most of all, it means knowing when to dictate terms of peace and when to go to war. And then not being afraid of the battle if it does come.

It also means being able to control your emotions and reactions. A good leader is not manipulated by anger or hurt feelings. They cannot allow even their closest advisers to manipulate their thoughts to implement doubts of any kind. Good or bad. Continue reading

A Perspective On Tarot

The MoonWhat’s Behind The Card

Many people ask me about a particular card in a Tarot spread they laid out the night or week before. What does it mean, what might it be trying to tell them and how should they apply that to their spread? I can’t answer those questions for people. Why? Because they never share the image of the card or the intent behind its placement in the spread.

Many readers today think that the Moon card, for instance, means the same thing in deck A as it will in deck B. It doesn’t. It has a general category, but the meaning of the card is hidden within the images of that card. And since each deck is different, the message in the images will be different.

Additionally, if the card is part of the Major Arcana vs. the Minor Arcana that will also have influence on the meaning and message of the card. In general the Major Arcana deals with the higher consciousness, the spirit, spiritual karma, lessons and the soul’s mission in this lifetime.

Where as the Minor Arcana will be influenced by the physical aspects of day-to-day life. Your thinking process and perspectives and how those attract or repel energy around you. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Sun

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

You are the Sun in your life. You are the source of its light. You decide what will be nurtured and what will be burned. You control what will be seen and what will be in shadow. Don’t let the nagging and negative voices dictate what can be grown or what will be locked away. Believe in yourself and let your light shine with respect, humility and confidence. Do this and success is yours.

Additional Insight:

The rays of the Sun are like ribbons upon the Earth. Each light taking you to a different time in your day. When you view each moment from the ground, you may not see how each is connected and intertwined. But when you move above the physical world and view the moments from the higher self, you can see how you touch each piece of the world around you.

Some of your light shines bright and warms that moment in time and those who share it with you. Some of your light might pierce the ground and burn its nutrients away. Some of your light may hide behind obstacles spreading shadow and doubt upon the path you tread. And some of your light might enhance the road allow you to see more clearly. Continue reading

A Healthy Ego Is Important

Wise Old Wolf

The Wise Old Wolf : A Healthy Ego Allows You To Be You

Is The Ego Bad?

Today I saw one of those inspirational FB images and it brought up a thought that I face every week during counseling. It was titled “Overcoming Your Ego” and listed several steps to accomplish that. From my perspective, the steps were overcoming arrogance, or egotism, not ego and that’s an important difference.

The word “ego” has been used as a metaphysical term to describe the self for centuries. By definition it is:
the “I” or self of any person; a person as thinking, feeling, willing, and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and from objects of its thought. ~ Dictionary.com

A healthy ego, allows you to be who you are as an individual. It also allows you to be you and let’s you respect others for who and what they are as well. Continue reading
