Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Swords

Two of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Put your dreams in a bubble, give them energy to grow and manifest, then set them free. At some point you must let go of the “dream” and start putting action into practice. You’ve planned, you have your ducks in a row. Stop delaying and start doing! It’s not going to manifest by itself! It really is time to start putting your action behind your words.

Additional Insight:

You keep finding excuses not to move forward with your plans. Why? Look around at the support you have. Look at the concrete planning you’ve done. You know what to do and you have the facts and solid steps to back it up.

Stop letting the fear of failure keep you from putting your well formed plans into action. Get your head out of the clouds and 20,000 feet view and come down to reality where action speaks louder than words. Failure is not going to creep up behind you, unless you choose it by sitting back and letting opportunity walk on by.

The longer you wait, the more chance you have of never getting what you dream and experiencing the success you long to achieve. By waiting, you allow others to step forward and claim the whole pie, simply because they took action first. How is that going to benefit your efforts to succeed? Continue reading

We’re 2 Years Old Today

bday2Today Is Our 2nd Anniversary

February 1st, 2012
I can’t believe it’s been two years since we said Welcome To Springwolf Reflections as my official author’s blog. 2 years ago my first book, yes the first of many I hope, was published. And while there has been some delay with the follow up books to the series I planned, I’m not giving up on that dream.

I’ve been a teacher, minister and author for longer than two years of course. Even my 30+ years in Information Technology has aided my progress through these past years. So I wanted to share some of my reflections and insights of the last two years in the six things I’ve learned to achieve growth and success. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Pentacles –

Two of Penacles

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Walking the path alone may mean the burdens are harder to carry. But if you don’t give into their struggle you will grow stronger. Don’t allow the perspectives of others to put you down or demean your confidence. You have endured where many others would have failed. Allow your strength to carry your load and reap the benefits as the bounty expands and grows. It’s your reward, you should be the one who decides what happens with it.

Additional Insight:

Everyone deals with the struggles in life differently. Some have struggles that are greater or more dire than others. Some look down their nose at those going through long lasting struggle versus those of immediate unexpected trauma. Some feel ostracized or cast aside because their struggles aren’t about life and death, but are about survival just the same.

Regardless of the issue, many people feel alone and left burdened with no support of any kind. They feel degraded, demeaned or unworthy of help, friendship or support. It’s the lowest of lows and yet they endure and move on through each day trying to survive. Where “no” becomes a common response in their daily conversation.

Those who face long lasting challenges with hope, no matter how small, and do their best not to allow their struggles to turn into bitterness or anger,  build strength of character both in who they are as a person and in spirit. It’s easy to give into the negative emotions and jaded views that hardship can create. But it’s through this exercise of positive perspectives that they attain the greatest gift of hardship, confidence and self love.

When the struggle comes to an end, it’s through this courage of character that will bring them out of darkness.  Yes they may walk past those who spurned their friendship. They may ignore the new judgements of who they have become by others who have not known their struggle. As they walk with new abundance, they may look the other way from those seeking false reunion. Leaving the pretend friendships in the past.  But they earned the right to make their own choices and to celebrate their success with pride. And more importantly with who they choose to celebrate with. The gift of strength and confidence gives each of us the right to control our own destiny and to celebrate the success of living through it in the way we choose.

Remember how you treat those in your life who are struggling through long lasting issues maybe more important than how much charity you provide to a stranger in another state who may have gone through a natural disaster. Both are worthy of your kindness and support. Both desire respect and dignity. It maybe hard for you to face the long standing challenge. It maybe hard to be reminded of the tragedies in every day life. It maybe depressing and annoying. But sometimes your friendship is all they really want. Someone to talk to, someone to share a moment that takes their mind off their hardships. Maybe even someone they can simply vent to and get it out of their system. They may not want anything more from you, or ask something of you. They simply want someone who can look at them with respect when they see them, instead of pity or foreboding. How many people have you stopped speaking to because they’re no longer in your “class” or “clique” because they fell into hard times? What does that say about you?

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Cups – Inverted

What’s good for the Goose is good for the Gander. Remember, relationships are about give and take. Don’t be the side that only takes and gives nothing back. Words are wonderful things, but they only have meaning when they’re backed up with actions. The key to a long lasting relationship is holding the utmost respect for the one you’re with. Even when they’re not there with you.

Additional Insight:

Love is expressed through action, not just through words. And there are many ways to express the love you have for your partner and family. Cleaning the kitchen, doing the laundry, taking out the trash and changing the oil in the car are all examples of the little things we do for each other because we care and we love our partners.

You don’t have to bring home flowers, or go out to a fancy dinner to show your partner you love them. A simple touch on the shoulder, a hug at night before bed, even a phone call during the day simply to say “I needed to hear your voice” can go a long way to making your relationship filled with passion.

How you talk to and about your partner, whether in person or behind their back to others defines your relationship. If you put them down to your friends, they will develop opinions about your partner and treat them accordingly when they meet. They can either look down upon them, or they can hold them up with regard and kindness. But remember how you speak of them, will set up how they speak of you. Sometimes even if the “talk” is only in your head.

It goes a long way to showing your kids you care too. A note in their lunch box to let them know you’re proud of them will fill their day with pride. Having dinner at the kitchen table and not in front of the TV can make a big difference too.

It’s not the big things we do that say “I love you”. It’s the things you do for them when they’re not standing next to you. The right choices you make for your partnership. The words you say to others about them, behind their back.  It’s all the little daily things that show it’s from the heart that matter.

Be cautious about the choices you make for nourishment. Whither it be food or food for thought, you need to make healthy choices today. You instinctively know what you need, so listen to that inner voice and avoid the things (or people) who are bad for you. Tomorrow, you’ll be glad you did.

Additional Insight:

We nourish our body and spirit in many ways. Through food yes, but also through the company we keep. You know what and who isn’t good for you. Stop giving in to the ‘easy’ choices and take a stand for your future and govern your own domain.

It might be easy to drop by the fast food joint, but you won’t get value for your dollar in their version of a healthy choice. And that friend that wants you to skip class, or a meeting doesn’t have your best interest to heart. They’re in self destruct mode and you need no part of that right now.

The choices you make today will set up the consequences of tomorrow; and perhaps the events for the rest of your life. So if you don’t want to be a teen parent, an unemployed statistic or patient in the ER; then you need to step back and take a moment to think about the invitations you receive today.

You are the one who will make a difference in your life. It’s your responsibility to feed and nourish your body and spirit for the betterment of your mission. If you need a break, take a walk. Walk around a building, or walk ALL the halls inside the building. Walk to the deli at the grocery store for a healthy salad. You know the options you have to make it work out in your favor today. Make them work “for” you, not against you.

Making Plans

Today I came across a beautiful quote:
“A goal without a plan is just a wish”. Antoine de Saint-Exupery French writer.

How many Tarot drawings have we pulled in the past few years that emphasize making a plan for your dreams? As much as resisted joining Pinterest it has become a big part of my week. I don’t know how others like using it, but one thing I’ve discovered it allows me to do is plan!

When I was a kid my grandmother told me about a book she kept with clippings from magazines. Things she’d like to have, places she’d like to go and so on. She didn’t have that book anymore and didn’t remember where she lost it. But it seemed sad that she no longer had it to look at.

She inspired me to create my own book of dreams and I’ve made several of them over the years. Today they’re packed somewhere in some box some place here in the house or attic. When I started using Pinterest, I realized it’s a digital dream book. A place to gather ideas and make plans.

Sometime in the future when I can get the center into a physical space again, I plan on having various types of gatherings. Some formal, some educational and some simply for fun.

One of those fun ideas is Tuesday Tea Time at Two. A simple gathering for conversation and elegance. High Tea where we can dress up and feel pretty. Low Tea for those days when we want to relax. So here in this board on Pinterest are my inspirations… Tea, Coffee & Cakes

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Cups –

Two of Cups

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

You control your emotions. It’s not up to someone else to make you happy. You can accept the gift of friendship and peace, or you can continue to be angry and lonely. It takes effort and courage to make an offering of friendship. But it takes a little effort to remain stubborn and filled with egotistical anger. Make your choice carefully. It will set actions into motion that you may not want on your path.

Additional Insight:

The littlest decision can touch a hundred relationships, not only today or tomorrow, but throughout your life and even in your future incarnations. Is it worth it to hold onto your stubborn ego and stay angry?

You are not an island and while you may think you are in the right, withholding compassion and love only takes those things away from you in the end. Others will give up trying to be your friend and walk away to find love and compassion somewhere else.

It’s time to grow up and let it go. Your pride and ego are still intact. But they won’t remain so if you continue to build a wall around you that keeps others out or at bay. Tear down the wall of anger and hurt, learn from the conflict at hand and change what you can about yourself that assisted in creating the situation in the first place.

Remember, there is enough blame on both sides to go around. There isn’t a structured line between right and wrong. You’re both right and you’re both wrong. So get over it and move on with peace, love and compassion.
