Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Swords

Two of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Working together you can save the world and recover what’s been lost. Approaching challenges with love and compassion for each other will make your magik stronger and you can achieve anything, even amongst the thorns. Strength, endurance and respect will win the day!

Additional Insight:

Swords bring us messages of Strength & Weakness, Endurance & Struggle, Respect & Animosity.

When you work together with those around you, especially those who are close to you, the strength to endure is emphasized. If you feel alone with no one to turn to, that partner is your inner higher spirit. Because you’re never truly alone.

When you align your energies with this perspective you each see the challenges before you from a different angle that allows all hidden issues to be exposed. Don’t work on problems as if you’re the one who has the only right answer. The endurance is promoted by the respect you have for each view that’s present.

All ideas are valid and should be considered. Take the best of all suggestions, merge them together and you’ll create a plan to overcome the struggles and diminish the weaknesses that may appear to be holding you back. Continue reading

When Alternative Information Goes Wrong – Losing Our Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom from the Past

I read something today that annoyed me a little and felt the need to point it out.

I was looking for information to answer a question I was asked about the concept of how our thoughts create how we feel. The questioner found the work of Louise Hay and wanted more information concerning this approach for healing. Additional authors and places to look to broaden the understanding.

While I had a few resources, I wanted to find some additional and more academic sources to share. If you don’t know, this concept of healing from a science perspective is called: Psychoneuroimmunology. Say what? Yeah, it’s a big word but it’s not new. Not by a long shot.

The academic concept Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is:
the study of the interaction between psychological processes and the nervous and immune systems of the human body. PNI takes an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating psychology, neuroscience, immunology, physiology, genetics, pharmacology, molecular biology, psychiatry, behavioral medicine, infectious diseases, endocrinology, and rheumatology. Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Ten of Swords

Ten of Swords Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Stop punishing yourself at every turn and for every thought, move or action you make. It’s not worth it to hold yourself up to a standard that you know no one else can meet. Time to practice some self-love and forgiveness! Only you can stop the bleeding!

Additional Insight:

All that anger you’re turning inward isn’t doing you any good at all. You’re only putting more pressure on yourself to be perfect. It makes no sense for you to be open and welcoming of others and their faults, but not of your own. Stop it! Seriously. Just Stop It!

You can not go back and change what has happened or what you’ve gone through. The only thing the past has to give you today are lessons and knowledge to help you avoid the same mistakes now and in the future.

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. ~ George Santayana

Santayana’s entire quote gives that famous line much more meaning:
Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Tis The Time Of Beltain & Samhain

Arctic Wolf Fire

“Arctic Wolf Fire”
By Tom-in-Silence

The Festival of Bel’s Fire

May You Have A Wonderful Holiday Celebration!

Region has a great deal of influence over early religious and/or spiritual celebrations. Especially in ancient times. While the Celts are generally seen as an individual group of people today, they were diverse and individual regional clans in their time.

They shared mythological stories, or perspectives, but they weren’t exactly the same. Different regions may hold a different set of deities on a higher level than others, or not include them at all.

Because of this, Bel has many names and many stories are attributed to him through out the old Celtic countries of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Even Gaul was included in that region of Celtic culture (Gaul (Latin: Gallia) was a region of Western Europe during the Iron Age and Roman era, encompassing present day France, Luxembourg and Belgium, most of Switzerland, Northern Italy, as well as the parts of the Netherlands and Germany on the west bank of the Rhine. ~ Wikipedia:Gaul). Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Knave of Cups – Inverted

Knave of Cups - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

There are plenty of fish in the water to choose from. Stop worrying about the one that got away. Focus on you and what you’re doing to sustain yourself in these waters. You don’t need to change your spots to please each person who crosses your path. Just be yourself.

Additional Insight:

It’s hard to remember which face you’re showing to each person who crosses your path. Trying to be something others like and changing to be something else for a different person takes a lot of energy. It also takes a big toll on your emotions and well-being.

You’re not going to be able to please everyone in your life at all times. And you don’t have to either. Those who don’t like this aspect of you or that perspective you hold about that topic aren’t the people you need to worry about. The only person who counts, is you! And if you can’t live with yourself, no one else is going to stay by your side either.

You already know that it’s not up to someone else to make you happy. Why are you trying to make others happy by being who they expect or want you to be? You have to be accountable for your emotions, but they don’t? Say what?! Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Judgement

Major Arcana Judgement

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Make sure you are judging situations before you with fairness and balance. Gather all the FACTs, from all sides first. Don’t rely on others to give you third-party or second-hand information. Go to the source and find out for yourself or confirm what you’ve been told is true. The road ahead is your path to tread. Make sure you’re walking it with both responsibility and accountability, instead of foolishness. Don’t get scammed!

Additional Insight:

Don’t fall back on old baggage and make assumptions. Don’t put your own reflections into the actions playing out before you. Don’t take the word of someone else for what’s going on, if they’re not the ones directly involved.

You must become actively involved in your own life and the path you tread. Stop letting others fool you or take advantage of you with misinformation, half truths or out and out lies. You are responsible for your life and where it leads. That means you must take hold of events you’re accountable for and be responsible for knowing exactly what’s going on.

If that means calling a creditor to make sure a bill was paid, then pick up the phone. It’s your good name and credit that will be affected, not someone elses. If there’s a he said, she said rumor going around about someone you care for, then go to the source and get the story face to face. And maybe from all parties involved. You can tell a lot about the truth when you “see” it first hand. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Eight of Swords

Eight of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Stop throwing daggers at others. Your mood is not their fault. Calm down and talk yourself into being at peace with your emotions. It’s ok to have feelings. You’re human after all. But don’t let them get the best of you and cause you to do or say things you may regret later. Acknowledge that you have them, good, bad or indifferent. But don’t allow them to run your life today. You need to be in balance and in control to make sure you’re getting things done that need your attention.

Additional Insight:

Being overly excited or emotionally angry, is part of life. But how you feel is under your control. Don’t blame others for how you choose to be in this moment. No one “Makes” you feel this way or that. You make those choices all on your own.

But don’t be so hard on yourself for having emotions either. You’re  an incarnated spirit who is here to experience life and having emotions are part of that experience. No one can be joyfully happy all the time. It’s not realistic and it’s not something anyone can do. So stop be angry at yourself and taking it out on others.

Instead, accept your emotions and acknowledge your feelings. Focus on balancing your reactions so you don’t make bad choices in a moment of extremes, no matter which side they’re on. You can even make the wrong move when you’re overwhelmed by glee, passion or excitement. So be cautious. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Star – Inverted

The Star - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

A star isn’t anything special or extraordinary. Its made of rock and generates its own power from within to shine. What you nurture within yourself will be what glows for the outer world to see. Be mindful today and make sure your light illuminates courage, strength and wisdom so you can claim this day as yours. Anything is possible, if you believe it to be.

Additional Insight:

Stop looking at others and thinking you can’t have what they have in their life. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, but you don’t always know what’s going on behind their closed doors. Could be what they have in the material world is all they have. Yet you have more abundance in emotional support, health or a variety of other areas in your life that they don’t have.

Jealousy isn’t going to get you the brass ring. It’s only going to deplete your resources and take energy away from your ability to shine. It’s hard to light the sky when you’re constantly putting out your glow and choosing to stand in the shadows and darkness. Pay attention to your thoughts today!

Mindfulness is being aware and cognoscente of what you’re doing and how it resonates with your soul, spiritual mission and mental outlook. Both for a state of being and for a sense of living your beliefs and putting them into practice. It is about how you think creating how you view things, how you see what’s around you and how you react to situations and others in any given moment. Continue reading

Sunday Homily: The Strength In The Negative

Knave of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

The Balance of Positive & Negative

What happens when the only things you see in your life are “negative”. Fighting, struggle, animosity and every other bad emotion or perspective seem to be prevalent and always present. Do you ask yourself what am I doing wrong? Why am I being persecuted? Why Me?

How Do You See?
As with all situations in your life,  there are two ways to see the messages present before you. Every event has a positive and negative flow. But that doesn’t necessarily mean all are good and bad at the same time.

Sometimes we forget the negative flow of energy isn’t a “bad” thing. In the pursuit of balance you must have positive and negative energies to make things work. A battery has a positive and negative side, without both you can’t power your electronics. Does that make the negative side a bad side of the battery? Should we be mean to it, or judge it harshly? No, of course not. And that’s true for the situations in our life too.

The Knave Of Swords
The tarot can be a good tool to use in the explanation of this concept. When I picked a card to share this message, the Knave of Swords came forth, so let’s take a look at what she has to share.

The first message starts with the energy of the suit. In this case the Swords. Swords represent Strength & Weakness, Endurance & Struggle, Respect & Animosity. Continue reading
