Reflections Hits 444 Posts
The number 4 has always been significant in my life and over time it has come to be my lucky number, as well as, my favorite number. So today when I posted the Daily Tarot Meditation message and noticed the next post would be the 444th here on Springwolf Reflections, I took notice.
This post..this one right here..is the 444th Post I’ve made on my new blog since it began February 1st, 2012. Yeah!! That deserved some type of celebration! And it’s a good time to show how we can use numerology in our every day lives.
Numbers like this don’t have to represent something to the world. Such as the date 12/12/12; December 12, 2012. They can be any number, or series of numbers that gain your attention or hold special meaning to you. In my case, that special number is 4. Which has corresponded to things like the time I was born, 4:48am. The birth of my son on the 4th at 6:45pm.
The vin number on my car; that I bought for myself on my 40th birthday, has a unique set of 4s. The salesman at the dealership told me that your Vin number isn’t a random number, it’s a code for when the car was made, where it was made, what color it is and other industry tidbits. Having a vin number with four 4s is somewhat unique; especially when those 4s are consecutive. Which mine are. And to top it off, I signed the papers to pick up that car on a 4th.
Even my favorite Nascar driver’s car number has a four in it. It belongs to 3-time champion Tony Stewart, who drives the #14 Chevrolet for Stewart-Haas Racing. (If you’re new to my blog, you may not know how big we are into racing! It’s a fairly big deal in our house). And I’m looking forward to his 4th Championship; which I know will happen!
What’s In A Number?
To others interested in numbers, these kinds of coincidences aren’t random occurrences at all. They have meaning and bring messages or insights in your life. So when they happen, it’s a good idea to take notice and try to decipher what the message is for that day or that event.
In Shamanistic Numerology, the number 4 represents:
Progression, the circle of life and/or the change of seasons, movement and cycles, the ability to endure, having stability.
- This number is associated with Mercury.
- This number is associated with the Mountain Ash Tree.
- This number is associated with the Otter.
- It represents the flow of spirit and nature.
- Positive Direction: 4 is the number of nature. It embodies the talent of instinct and the ability to change and fit in with its surroundings. It is a mailable number that feels comfortable in the spirit world as equally as it does in the physical world.
- Negative Direction: In reverse 4 can indicate instability, being flighty and having a need to get back to your roots. Feeling confused and not being able to make decisions, or choices on your own.
Change is in the world for my family and I right now. And we certainly have endured during this Great Recession. Like many people we’re working hard to move forward to stability in our lives. As a Gemini, Mercury is my ruling planet and I’m glad it’s showing up today. It helps to see that the circle of change isn’t as great as it’s perceived. As Mercury has the smallest orbit around the Sun (the physical light of our world).
In Shamanistic Numerology we add numbers together to calculate their single digit representation. In the case of this Reflection we’d create the equation 4+4+4=12; 1+2=3
The number 3 is the number of spirit, the whole (mind/body,spirit), wisdom and enlightenment, bringing empowerment.
- This number is associated with Mars.
- This number is associated with the Birch Tree.
- This number is associated with the Snow Goose.
- It represents the energy world or physical magik. It is a number of balance for feminine and masculine energy.
- Positive Direction: 3 can denote intelligence and a unique ability to understand all sides. Because of this it’s a number of justice or fairness; being able to balance out all sides of an argument and working out the best for all sides. It’s a great number to have for those in the spiritual or legal professions.
- Negative Direction: In reverse 3 can be overbearing, intrusive and disregarding fairness. It becomes a number of judgement based on self serving outcomes or a sense of righteousness.
Considering Springwolf Reflections is a blog of spiritual insight and understanding, it’s a good number to represent such a milestone post for me personally. Over half a century these coincidences between wonderful events; big and small; and the number 4 have occurred in my life. At least once a year and sometimes more, 4 comes up to teach me something or to get my attention for insight when I need it the most. Today is one of those occasions and it’s a much needed personal message.
Take some time to think about the numbers in your life. And consider the variations of your number. For instance, since the number 4 has such significance in my life, its variations also hold mean. Variations can be any number that includes your number, like 4:48 or 14. But it can also be its duplicate or double, such as 8. Some will also say that any multiple of your number will have significance. For my number 4 that would be 12, 16, 20 and so on.
As an example of these unplanned occurrences, my husband and I are not legally married. If our state still had common law marriage, we would be; but it doesn’t. A decade ago we decided we wanted to hold a handfasting ceremony and exchange commitment rings. We picked out our rings and had them sized. A few days later we picked them up from the jeweler and that evening we held our own private handfasting ritual.
Many years later we were seemingly inundated with family and friends getting married or celebrating milestone anniversaries. We didn’t make note of the date we exchanged our rings. Oddly the event was more important to us than the “when”. Now we both felt the need to mark our own anniversary, but neither of us could remember the date. Thankfully, the jeweler did! I just love those people! And our date: December 8th. To us it was the perfect date. Double 4s to my husband represented our partnership. And the month 12; 1+2=3 represented our family. The only people at our handfasting were myself, my husband and our 6month old son.
Mathematics is the only language shared by all humans regardless of culture, religion, or gender. We all use the same constructs to add up a basket of groceries regardless of country fund be it dollars, yen, rubles or pounds. It’s also the language of the Universe through astrophysics that may expand our communication to the stars and other civilizations we don’t even know about yet.
In the world of Metaphysics, the study of the Universe beyond physics, numbers still have a key role to play in our communication with self, spirit and the Divine Universe around us. To some these examples may seem to be a stretch or an exercise in reaching for meaning where there is none. But to others they are a spiritual pattern of events that confirm our perspective and view the numerological language.
What number holds significance to you. It might be good to find out how your number crosses your path. Do you know what it represents? Does it pop up in your life to shine upon events and bring messages and insights into your life?
Even if the message is simply one of encouragement or holds a message of confirmation, it can be useful. In this case, it can tell me I’m heading in the right direction. It can provide insight into how to proceed and it may include a for warning of what to be cautious of and what to avoid doing. It can also provide encouragement that you’re doing the right things to fulfill your passion, achieve your dreams and complete your mission in this physical embodiment.
Take time to acknowledge the little achievements in your life. The big ones don’t happen very often. But when you pay attention to the little ones, you’ll often find something to acknowledge and celebrate!
Little side note..when I went looking for an animated fireworks image; I found this one. On their site it’s labeled as animatedfirework-14.gif. An appropriate number for a post about the number 4.
