An Evolution of Reiki Thought

A Traditional Holistic Healing Art

Reiki is an ancient art of healing. It is often referred to as a Zen art of hands on holistic healing, where the healer is a channel for the Divine Universal Life Force Energy.

I have been a practicing Reiki Healer since 1989. Over the past two decades of practice I have learned a few things and changed my view of some aspects of Reiki. As with everything in life, the more you learn and expand your knowledge, so too should your views and perspectives also change and grow.

In 1999 I wrote a section about Reiki on my original educational website. I outlined the general information about what Reiki is, its practices, the general information about the Reiki I and II levels of training. All from the perspective of a traditionally trained Reiki Master. I even included a page on the controversies surrounding the history, attunements and pricing of Reiki training. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Cups – Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Too little to late doesn’t solve the overall issue. Beneath the gesture of appeasement is a measure of disrespect that got you to this point to begin with. It’s great when someone says they care about you, or they love you; but if the actions aren’t there to back it up is it really what they claim it to be? Be cautious of what you say, if your actions aren’t there to back it up. You may lose more than a few moments of your time or a measure of frustration.

Additional Insight:

If someone has been backing you and supporting you out of love and affection, it’s a physical expression of the respect they have for you. If you don’t return those gifts with actions and only use words to show your gratitude, you may find the respect you once had diminishing.

Your actions to ‘make up for it’ might resolve this event. But over time, the pattern might build into a situation of ‘too little, to late’. Those that support you want to feel supported in return.  Listen and actually hear what’s being said.

In order to conquer the challenges in life, face and fight them together as a united front. That means no one person has all the answers or the right ideas. Work together, listen to each other and share ideas and efforts to resolve the issue. Open communication and truly “listen” and “hear” what’s being shared. United you will stand against all fronts and overcome anything put before you.

The Importance Of Mind/Body/Spirit Thinking

crystalwolfHow To Develop Your Spiritual Consciousness Connection

Every animal on this planet has an inner instinct or insight. We’ve heard stories about Elephants grabbing people and running for high ground as a tsunami approaches all in danger. For centuries, scientists have said to watch animals for predictions of bad weather.

According to the USGS in an article entitled “Animals & Earthquake Prediction“:
The earliest reference we have to unusual animal behavior prior to a significant earthquake is from Greece in 373 BC.  Rats, weasels, snakes, and centipedes reportedly left their homes and headed for safety several days before a destructive earthquake.  Anecdotal evidence abounds of animals, fish, birds, reptiles, and insects exhibiting strange behavior anywhere from weeks to seconds before an earthquake.  However, consistent and reliable behavior prior to seismic events, and a mechanism explaining how it could work, still eludes us.

As human beings we are part of that animal kingdom with an inner ability to sense the unseen subtle changes in energy around us. But many have lost or turned away from these natural instincts. They have degraded those who do believe in these inner instincts, ridiculed those who are in-tune with these abilities and vilify those who try to explain and teach others to connect to and talk to their natural intuition on a daily basis. Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Priestess

The Priestess

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Be in control of your own life. Raise your conscious view into the spiritual super consciousness and discover what lies before you with clarity and foresight. You have the ability to see what’s coming and understand the why behind the event(s). Doing this provides you the insight to alter what needs to be corrected or empower what needs to be strengthened to create a positive outcome.

Additional Insight:

One of my favorite cards to draw. The Priestess reminds us that our spiritual leadership isn’t something we set aside during the week and only bring out on weekends, at ritual or during ceremonies to celebrate our faith. But rather that she’s always needed to bring about the complete balance and cycle of Mind/Body/Spirit.

It seems this week and last, our messages have been a lot about how we think affecting how we live. The Mind directs the physical action of the body. These are our choices, our words and our actions that are put into physical manifestation.

The Priestess reminds us that our Higher Spiritual Consciousness directs the Mind. The hierarchy is not separate, one above the other. But rather a balanced circle that creates a dependence of one to the other and back again. The Spiritual Consciousness helps direct the Mind to positive thought and choice which in turn directs the physical Body into action, which in turn creates the energy the Spiritual Consciousness can see, understand and work with. This is the circle of all things in nature. It can move us forward, backward or it can leave us spinning our wheels and not moving at all.

We need all three aspects of self in place to walk the path of positive empowerment and action to move forward, complete our mission and learn our lessons. This is the nature of Spiritual Enlightenment. Don’t spin your wheels and get stuck in the mud. Don’t spin your wheels and end up moving backward. Instead listen to your higher Spiritual Consciousness and gain insight and direction to get the wheels moving forward in a positive creative flow.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Eight of Cups – Inverted

Eight of Cups - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Fan the blossoms of success and allow healing from the past to continue. Pay attention to the world around you today. Take note that even though things are upside down, your blessings are not falling out of your baskets. Trust in the flow of spirit. Let go and Let the Divine in your life work miracles. By holding on in fear, you are holding back the future you seek. LET GO!

Additional Insight:

The theme this week seems to be appreciating what you already have in your life, but undervalue its blessings. Material things are “nice to have”. Financial security is “good t have”. But the real blessings in life are not these tangible things. The cups represent all these things through their message of emotions, happiness and abundance.

Abundance however is not secluded to financial or material things. The real blessings are friendships, love and the appreciation of others in your life. No one is an island. No one can get through this life without some kind of interaction with another human being.

We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection.” The Dalai Lama.

When you under appreciate those relationships you have in your life, you are chipping away at the positive energy they bring. Little by little you break down the solid rock and leave nothing but rubble in its place. Take note of the real important things you have around you. Acknowledge their positive influences in your life. Make sure they know you appreciate them and you’re glad to have them with you in times of challenge. Express your positive appreciation and you’ll build on the solid foundation of the rock and begin to reach the stars.

~~~~~
Something for Couples/Families to think about:
In times of stress and anxiety it’s easy to get angry and look for blame. Many couples blame each other for their hardships or financial woes. This blame game is the first sign that a relationship is in trouble and headed to break up.
Instead of pointing fingers, try joining forces and working together to beat back the world that’s closing in.  Me against you weakens both sides. Us against them strengths the forces. Hardships should bring you closer to those who truly mean something in your life. Not tear you apart.
Instead of yelling at her/him for not doing enough, or yelling at her/him for not be responsible enough; try holding each other, cry on each others shoulder, speak your fears and frustrations about how you feel. Choose your words carefully and take responsibility for your own feelings. Don’t say “You make me feel like” – no one makes you feel anything. You make that choice all on your own. You choose your responses, others don’t choose them for you. Don’t start any sentence with “You” and especially not “You did” or “You didn’t”.
“I feel like” – three of the most powerful words between partners. Right next to “I love you”. When was the last time you said that..and really meant it? When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said it to yourself? And really meant it.
Going through hardships is the most important time to expand your communication, not stunt it.  Take sometime to think about how you communicate and perhaps alter your methods as needed.
The Ænigma Project is a discussion group focused on the realm of the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in our lives. Through multiple view points and experiences, we seek to enlighten our listeners and elucidate that which has become hidden beneath the many layers of misunderstanding and fear.
01/28 Our Topic: Psychic Detectives
A psychic detective is defined as a person who investigates crimes by using their claimed paranormal psychic abilities. A number of people claim they have psychic abilities that have allowed them to assist police in solving kidnapping and murder cases, or locating a corpse. Police departments generally state they do not keep records regarding such activity.
Join Paul Cagle and his co-hosts Sushi and Springwolf as we share our research, knowledge, insight and humor, play “Truth or Tale” and talk about the news of the day.
You can listen online and join in the chat room to share your perspective or ask questions for the panel to contemplate and address. If you don’t want to join the chat, you can still listen live on your pc or Smartphone on TuneIn radio! I LOVE this app!
Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Priest – Inverted
The Priest - Inverted
Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft
You can climb the mountain and see nothing but the struggle. Or you can climb the mountain and take time to see the beautiful vistas. Everything happens for a reason, even if we don’t see what the reason is. But your perspective determines how easy or hard the path you tread will be.
Additional Insight:
Often times we find it hard to get over the mountain, or the obstacles in our life, because we’re too busy looking back at where we’ve come from and not where we are. We fear the next step, because we don’t know if the rock we grab hold of will crumble or support our climb.
There is a great deal beneath the mountain. Like a giant iceberg there is much that has gone into holding it up. But the roots that run deep can be sources of happiness that feed our path forward. Or we can allow them to be sources of anger and frustration that hold us back from moving up.
Change your thoughts. Stop and take in the beautiful views. Even in the worst of situations, there’s always something to smile about or appreciate. A delicate flower growing between the barren rocks. A small butterfly that wonders what you’re doing. The sure footedness of the salamander quickly running between the branches on the ground. Even the helping hand you hold out to those around you can bring beauty into your life. What you give out to others in selfless acts will brighten their day, and yours as well.
You can conquer the mountain top and take a little time to appreciate the little things you see. All you need to do…is believe in yourself.
eMail Update
email2Catching Up
As many of you know I had a major computer crash at the end of last year. Consequently I wasn’t able to access my email for several weeks/months.
I’m back up and running but it’s taking a little longer to respond to all your messages. Don’t give up on me yet! I’m up to December now! I’ve been able to get through at least 5 messages a day; but there’s still many left to answer.
Hang in there, I WILL answer each one personally.
