Time To Write Your Abundance Check

wolfmoneyNew Moon Energy Reminder

The Moon reaches it’s New Moon Phase on June 4th at 10:58pm.

My friend Rev. Lyn Williams sends out a reminder every month on FB to Write Your Abundance Check.

I think many of us could use this, so I’d like to share it with you.  It’s a great way of putting your hopes, faith, dreams or desire for abundance into physical action.

I love Rev. Lyn’s ritual, but I did change it a little to implement some Pagan specific perspectives. If you need some abundance in your life, give it a try. You’ll find the full step-by-step ritual here: Sunday Homily: Writing Your Abundance Check.

You can visit Rev. Lyn’s website and learn more about her at The Woman Exec.  And follow her on Facebook where she shares some wonderful insight and suggestions to make positive changes in your life.

Enjoy the ritual!

The Full Moon In The Southern Hemisphere

"Merlin In The Moon" by Springwolf 🐾

“Merlin In The Moon” by Springwolf 🐾

What Is The Name Of The Moon

As with all things in the world, where you are located will dictate how you associate this to that. Meaning and names of objects like the Moon vary around the world. Cultures assign names to each full moon based on their traditions, climate, animals, crops and how they view the world around them. There isn’t one complete list of this to that anywhere or for anything. There are many.

When it comes to Full Moon names, you can’t simply take a set of names from the North, reverse them and apply them to the South. This assumes we all look at things the same way through the same eyes. Imagine a Native American from the Cherokee Nation applying their moon names to the Aboriginal moon phases in Australia. It probably wouldn’t make sense to the folks who live down under.

But because Europeans settled in both the North and South, many of the moon names traveled with them to new lands and continents. In many ways this does a dis-service to the original peoples of the land in question and the names they came to know and associate with the Moon phases. Like the Tribal Nations in America, each group has its own language. The most common reference for the moon is Alkina and it’s associated with female energy. But try to find which Aboriginal Nation uses that word. I didn’t have any luck at all. Many words for the moon in other nations associate the moon with masculine energy. And that’s just Australia.

The Maori are the first people of New Zealand. They brought their Polynesian Mythology and the name of Moon with them to the land of the Kiwis. Here the Moon gets her name from the Goddess Marama, who governs the Moon and Death.

wolfpackA New Moon Ritual

My friend Rev. Lyn Williams sends out a reminder every month on FB to Write Your Abundance Check.

I think many of us could use this, so I’d like to share it with you.  It’s a great way of putting your hopes, faith, dreams or desire for abundance into physical action.

I’m a firm believer that making a wish is great on a spiritual level. Asking for help to make life a little easier can have a great deal of influence in our lives. But only if we put some action behind it.

It reminds me of a story I think I’ve shared here before. But in case I haven’t, let me tell it again. Continue reading

The Black Moon Of March

The Black Moon

The 2nd New Moon Of The Month

The Second New Moon Of The Month

With every full moon, there’s also a New Moon which can also occur twice in a single month and that is also a rare event for Grandmother Moon. But she doesn’t seem to receive the same spectacular acknowledgement as her brighter sister the Blue Moon.

This month, March 2014; we will see two New Moons. The first occurred on March 1st and the second barely squeaks in on the 30th.

What’s her story and can you observe this special time of the year? Learn more about the Black Moon, her history, her energy, purpose and how you can mark the night of her arrival:  The Black Moon.

The 2nd New Moon Of The Month

The Second New Moon Of The Month

The Moon has long been a significant object in Earth’s orbit to many cultures around the world.  Approximately every three years there are two full Moons in one calendar month. These Blue Moons are often reported in the news and highlighted in a years calendar as being something special.

But with every full moon, there’s also a New Moon which can also occur twice in a single month and is also a rare event. But she doesn’t seem to receive the same spectacular acknowledgement as her bigger sister the Blue Moon.

On January 30th, 2014 we’ll see the second occurrence of the New Moon in a single month. And like the second full moon, the second New Moon also has a special name. It’s called a Black Moon. Continue reading

Have A Spooktacular Day!!

Merry Samhain & Happy Halloween

Today is a day to let the child inside come out to play. Nothing wrong with having fun and letting yourself play a little.

Halloween has become a secular holiday for Trick or Treat and nothing else. It’s not a Pagan holiday and it’s no longer a Christian holiday. So let the children play and have some unencumbered fun!

Once the children have had their fill at play, you can focus on the spiritual aspects of the day. For Pagans that means honoring Samhain.

Whither you use the Gaelic pronunciation “Sow-en”, “Sow-ween”, Sah-ween” or the Americanized version “Sam-hain” (yes that is an acceptable pronunciation), it’s still the biggest holiday on the Pagan Calendar. We honor the Celtic New Year with ritual and reverence to honor the spirits of the past and the doorway that has been opened for this one night to communicate with those we’ve lost.

From everyone here at Spring’s Haven, we wish you a very Happy Halloween, a Merry Samhain and a Happy New Year!

I’m On Google+ Today

The Wolf WithinNew Social Media

More and more people are looking for social media outlets outside of Facebook. Many are turning to Google+ as their alternative. We want to provide as many outlets as possible for people to interact with us, enjoy our posts and share our news, thoughts and inspirations.

I’ve been resisting Google+. Mostly because I already have enough to keep up with. But I joined Google+ today and hope to connect with a wider audience and share our daily messages with the new Android media devices in the world. Along with those who love Google and all it has to offer.

We hope you’ll look her up and become part of her circle of friends!

Check out my Google+ page, be part of my circle, hang out..I have no idea what I’m talking about. I only set this up today.  😉
