Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Three of Cups

3 of Cups

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Have some compassion for yourself, your whole self (mind/body/spirit). Being honest with yourself to change negative patterns or thinking doesn’t mean you must be overly critical. Feeling guilty is simply another form of negative thinking. Show some kindness and acceptance, smile, laugh and begin a new perspective to heal old wounds. Fill your cups with love of self.

Additional Insight:

There’s no difference between someone you trust criticizing your actions and you doing the same thing to yourself. Actually you doing it is worse. You can admit you made mistakes, but there’s no reason to drag you down in an attempt to punish yourself for it or them.

What’s done is done. You can apologize, you try to make amends, but you will only make things worse if you keep trying to compensate by degrading your choices and actions. Give yourself a break. Haven’t you been through enough already? Let go means…Let Go! Get over it. Drop it. Stop dwelling on it. Move on! Don’t give it another thought!

Love yourself has been the theme of this weeks messages. That’s not a quaint message that one says when talking about their spiritual path. It’s a tangible action that will make a difference in your life! It overcomes the negative guilt feelings, the self criticisms, the sorrow over what could have been or should have been, or even should have done.

When you love yourself, you hold yourself in respect. You show yourself care and compassion. You build self-esteem and empower your thoughts and actions that can propel you forward to success and achievement. You create a desire to stand tall, align your mind/body/spirit with the Divine in your life and create a sense of “I am worthy”.  This expression of Love of self will open doors and attract more of the same into your being, and into your life.

You’re worthy of being loved. You’re worthy of being appreciated. You’re worthy of achieving your goals. You’re worthy of attaining abundance in mind, body, spirit. And yes that includes financial and material success as well. You are worthy! Start believing it and allow the energy of Divine Creation into your day. You might find the magik of the Triple Goddess..already within you.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Death

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Life is filled with cycles that start and end on a regular basis. Each chapter brings opportunity for growth and a chance to gain a step closer to enlightenment. The future is not something to be feared simply because you’re closing the past. Some of the things behind you, need to be left there for your own good. Shed a tear and move on.

Additional Insight:

There are many chapters in our book of life. Some we write and some we’re merely passing characters in someone else’s play. Those little scene often start quickly, run for a time and end just as quickly. We never, if ever give them a second thought.

But then there are those chapters that we give special meaning to and we hope they run their course and turn out the way we dream. When they do, we enjoy the ride and smile, but we often take them for granted.

When they don’t we set them in a pool of drama hold regrets, sorrows, what if’s, what would have, or what should haves. None of which would have made a difference, but we fool ourselves into thinking they would.

It’s ok to shed a tear or two over what was. No matter what it was, the loss of a family member, a pet, a relationship or a job, it served it’s purpose in your chapter and it was time for those involved to move on. It doesn’t matter what it was, or how important it was in your life. Relationships come and go. Arguments don’t last for ever, unless you allow them to control your life and thoughts.

Each time you say “I won’t let them get away with this”, you are placing that anchor deeper into the ground. You’re making it that much harder to let it go and become free of its control over your success and change for the better. Each time you think of that resentment, that negative phrase or the hateful word, you are giving it more power over you. And no manner of positive thinking will release you into the future until you have freed yourself from that heavy weighty anchor of pain.

It’s time for you to move on. We may not understand the reasons behind the final scene. We may not know “why” until we’re gone and rest in the realm of spirit. But if we dwell on those things now, in this lifetime, at this point the circle, we can cause the wheel to fall backwards and become stuck in the mud.

Cry your tear today. Then pick yourself up, dust yourself off and the mirror and tell yourself “You’re going to be ok”, “You’re strong and you will move forward”, “I AM ready to move into the future and discover the adventure that’s waiting for ME to arrive”, “I can, because I’m one with the Divine Universal Creation”, “I love me and that’s what is most important today”.

Now stop the sorrow, worry and negative talk. Smile and look into the next minute, the next hour and the next day. DO what you need to do to move to the next chapter of your adventure.

The Spring’s Haven Divination House Journal #3

Planning The Divination House

The Inspiration For Our House

Planning Stages

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything about the portable Divination House. The last post was back in August 2012 actually. But gathering ideas for the design and building have continued.

After talking to a few tiny house builders we have expanded our concepts for the design. How do you transport a ‘tree’ house to a renfare and provide yourself space to stay over the weekend to limit expenses? Doing that meant drastically redesigning the tree house and the more we thought and discussed what could and couldn’t be done; the more it looked like the tree wasn’t going to satisfy both needs. It’s one or the other, but not both.

That brought up the next idea. Using the tree house for business, and a portable tiny house for everything else. Double the expense. Oh boy. Well, that’s what dreams are all about. Having your cake and eating it too! Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Knave of Pentacles – Inverted

Knave of Pentacles - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

It’s ok to hide out a little today and sneak some special healthy treats for yourself. Whither its fruit or a long quiet bubble bath, you deserve the playful time. Do a little dreaming, smile and make up a fanciful tale about faeries and flying. Whatever your happy relaxation is..sneak a little of it into your day.

Additional Insight:

Everyone needs an escape from the stress and anxiety of life. With no TV, no radio blaring in your ear. Simple quiet solitude to relax and dream can help you re-energize your thoughts and help to relax the stress in your body.

Sit by the fire or next to a babbling brook and listen to the sounds of nature fill your ears. Talk to the trees and the birds and see what they have to offer for the day. You might learn something, about them and about you.

Let your inner child come out and play, have some fun and let go of the stress for an hour or two. Or four. Let yourself smile again with the simple joys life can bring to you.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Five of Pentacles – Inverted

5 of Pentacles - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Worry and sadness are emotions that attract negativity. If you continue to see what you don’t have you will stay in a state of lack. Stop the self-pity and start walking your talk! Giving your beliefs lip service will not serve your path or your future. Pull in change for the better by living the principles you preach to others!

Additional Insight:

Walking Your Talk is more important than you may realize. Spouting wisdom and preaching to others does nothing to serve your spirit if you don’t practice what you preach.

Stop criticizing others for their negativity. Doing so expresses negativity of your own. Claiming you have the knowledge of spirit and not living that wisdom sets you up as a hypocrite. It’s not enough to go to church on Sunday, or practice a ritual on Saturday and be done with spirit. You must put those wisdom’s into practice each and every day, during each and every moment.

Don’t claim to be something you’re not, if you’re not willing to walk the talk. Wisdom and titles are earned, not taken. It doesn’t matter if you claim to be a Priest/Priestess/Shaman or a person who walks in the positive light of love and compassion. If you don’t express those principles throughout your day, you’re making claims that you’re not keeping.

Start your mornings with a solemn prayer that aligns your thoughts and actions with your spiritual beliefs. See yourself living by the teachings you hold dear. Express your compassion for others by a touch of the hand on their shoulder, a pat on the back or a comforting caress of their hand. Doing so will help your path and fill your baskets to the brim with abundance of spirit, compassion and more.

Tonight On The Ænigma Project – Skinwalker Ranch

Get Your Tinfoil Hat and Join Us Live!

The Ænigma Project – Mondays 9 PM EST

The Ænigma Project is a discussion group focused on the realm of the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in our lives. Through multiple view points and experiences, we seek to enlighten our listeners and elucidate that which has become hidden beneath the many layers of misunderstanding and fear.

03/05 Our Topic: The Skinwalker Ranch, Utah
A 480 acre piece of isolated property in the Uinta Mountains region of Northeastern Utah. This is a true story. The name Skinwalkers comes from the Navaho’s belief about shape-shifting witches who come from the ‘other side’. Early residents reported their cattle were being mutilated, their dogs were found incinerated, and the family reported seeing strange objects with lights hovering over their property. They were also terrified by the ongoing poltergeist-like activities happening inside their home. Doors often slammed shut, objects would disappear and later reappear, and strange sounds were heard coming from beneath their property that resembled movement of heavy machinery. The family even claimed to have encountered a number of strange creatures on their property on several occasions. Creatures resembling Bigfoot, the alien from the movie Predator, and wolf-like animals were all reported with great detail. Continue reading

How Wolves Trained Humans!

The Alpha's

The Gift of Compassion

An Alternative Look At Domestication

This morning my husband shared an article with me that I had to share with you. In some ways because it fits today’s Tarot Meditation message.

As humans we often take credit for things we may not really have control over. We pat ourselves on the back and say aren’t we great and we forget that our success sometimes comes from the opportunities other provide. Even when those “others” are from the kingdom of Nature.

Opinion: We Didn’t Domesticate Dogs. They Domesticated Us.
Scientists argue that friendly wolves sought out humans.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Judgement – Inverted

Judgement - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Toot your own horn with confidence. Don’t let the nay-sayer’s get you down and disrupt the good feelings. You know who you are when you look in the mirror. You know how far you’ve come. Be cautious of boasting, of too much ego; but allow yourself to be different and proud of yourself.

Additional Insight:

There’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance. What someone else sees will depend on what glasses they wear. If they don’t have pride in themselves, they’ll see you as arrogant. If they hold confidence within their own being, they’ll see you as confident.

It’s ok to celebrate your successes and stand with pride over your accomplishments! But how you show the world your excitement and self-confidence will make a difference as well. Be careful not to boast to loudly. It’s ok to say I’m happy I was able to do this or that. But it’s also important to remember that others helped you get there.

Being different isn’t a bad thing. You may approach things from a different angle than others, but it’s that alternative perspective that can help you succeed where others fail. So celebrate your uniqueness with humble gratitude and appreciation. But with pride in your accomplishment and in yourself. You deserve it.

The Blue Bottle Trees

bluebottletree2Warding Off Evil Spirits

Oral traditions are very important, especially in society today. We are over run and inundated with TV, computers, smart phones and tablets that provide us with an inconceivable number of videos, movies and other types of entertainment. Because of this modern technology, our old stories are being lost and forgotten.

Author/Storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham and storytellers like her, have became concerned over the loss of our old stories. Thankfully they are setting these stories down on paper in a series of books that are worth reading. (You can find the Jeffery series by Kathryn Tucker Windham on Amazon).

One of my favorite stories comes from old Appalachian folklore tale called, The Blue Bottle Tree and The Witch’s Heart.

The legend goes like this:
If you place blue bottles in a crape myrtle tree they will help you ward off evil. Evil spirits are very curious. The blue bottles are so attractive that the evil spirits are drawn into them. Once inside they become confused and get trapped. Some variations of this wives tale, continue by adding the destruction of the evil within the bottle. Much like a Native American dream catcher; when the sun rises in the morning it’s warmth and bright light destroys the evil that was trapped inside (or within the web of the catcher) so that it can never do harm to anyone again. An Oral Tradition From The South

Here in the southern United States, we have a great many stories and legends relating to ghosts and spirits. I’ve read many account from story tellers suggesting the south has more ghost stories than any other place in the U.S. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it certainly makes one take a second thought about the claim. After all, some of the first big conflicts in this country began in the south. From the invasion of the first white Europeans with Native Americans, to the Civil War and on into modern times with the fight for Civil Rights.

Southern Appalachia is widely known for its oral traditions and story telling. In fact the International Storytelling Center is located in the small historical town of Jonesborough Tennessee (my home town). If you have an opportunity for a visit to the oldest town in Tennessee, I suggest going during the first full weekend in October when the Center holds the National Storytelling Festival. It’s a big and wonderful event that draws storytellers and people from around the globe.  One of my favorite stories comes from this festival. The Blue Bottle Tree.

There are many stories about blue bottle trees. Perhaps because this is the first one I ever heard makes this one my favorite. Or possibly because the main character in the story share’s my last name. This isn’t an exact version of the story I heard. But it’s the one I tell today. I hope you like it. Continue reading
