It’s 07/14/14 – So What Does That Mean?

Number 4 by Springwolf © 2014The Numerological Message for July 14th, 2014

Mathematics is the only language shared by all humans regardless of culture, religion, or gender. Today stood out for me, because of a pattern I saw when I posted today’s Tarot Meditation Insight. In my strange brain, I saw a 7 and it clicked that two 7s, are 14 and there’s two 14s in today’s date. Well that seemed interesting to me for some reason. Maybe because 4 is my favorite number. So I decided to look into the number from a Shamanistic Numerology standpoint.

A quick review
Prime numbers are those numbers that are specific to you, your birthday, social security or other numbers that will stick with you throughout your lifetime.

Sub-Prime numbers are numbers associated with you that change over time. Your phone number, an employee number, drivers license number and other things like that.  A date falls into the category of Sub-Prime, because it only comes around once and quickly changes to the next day in the scheme of your lifetime. Many Paths, Many Perspectives

Everyone else says A. Why do you say Z?

The Diversity of Spiritual Knowledge

It’s that day again. The day when I receive an email that claims not to want to offend, but then tries to explain that “You’re wrong” and you should update your information. Oh how I “love” these.

Of course this isn’t the first time I’ve received a letter like this. So I learned how not to take them personally and see them for what they are. People generally mean well, and think they are sharing knowledge that someone else is lacking. But sometimes that can fall in the category of “Unsolicited Advice is Always Self-Serving“.

Other times, like this case, I believe the person meant well and there’s no other end game behind the note. But, what the sender failed to do before making an assumption about my information is….to conduct some research to discover why my information might be different. But let’s start at the beginning, here’s the note I’d like to discuss.

Hi, every other website listed for elements and their corresponding compass points say:
Air=east, Water=west, Fire=south, Earth=North
which contradicts your website. You may want to revise your site. I hope you don’t get offended by this message, my intention is simply to promote accuracy.Continue reading

What Happens When We Die

Blessings Of The GreenThe Process of Life and Death

While we were on our summer break I received a lot of great emails. Quite a few of them caught my attention and in particular I found myself writing a novel to answer a few of them. I decided; a few of these might be better answered on the blog. Surely this isn’t the only time someone has asked this question. Perhaps we can help others who are seeking to find answers and understand these concepts too.

I’m not going to post the entire emails and their contents, our friends deserves privacy. In this particular email / answer,  I do want to share the question and put it in context so we’re all on the same page as I share my view and understanding from my perspective. Continue reading

Resources for Spiritual Religions, Paths, Movements

readingResources For Learning

I’ve recently gotten into some conversations about learning and researching other belief systems. How can we build tolerance for each other, when we don’t even understand the perspectives others hold? We must start with reading, research and learning.

That doesn’t mean you’re going to be converted to another belief. If that does happen, then maybe you weren’t as anchored in your proclaimed belief in the first place. There’s nothing to be afraid of, unless you don’t think your views and beliefs can stand up to comparison or scrutiny. In which case, why would you want to follow a system of belief that isn’t valid within your own standards?

Learning about others can actually strengthen your own beliefs by expanding your views. When you remove the limitations from your mind, you can see a much larger view of the world around you. That might give you something to think about and lead you to research within your own beliefs to discover how this relates to that, or how does this explain that, and so on. Continue reading

The Summer Solstice – Time For Faeries

Celebrating Faeries, Wishes and The Good Ole Summertime
By Springwolf, D.D., Ph.D.  🐾

The Summer Solstice rings in the waning year and begins the slow good-bye of the sun as the days become shorter and the darkness returns to the land. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we celebrate the Summer Solstice on June 21st or 22nd in the Southern Hemisphere it falls on December 21st or 22nd.

As the story goes, the Oak King has ruled over the Earth, bringing the Sun to warm the ground so fields could be planted for wheat, barley and gardens can grow. When the solstice arrives, the Holly King wakes from his slumber and challenges the Oak for supremacy in the sky.

Their battles rage through the summer as the Oak King fights to hold on to his love, Mother Earth. The clashes between these Kings are heard through the Thunder drums of summer storms as lightning crackles  from the striking of their swords in bright explosions.

To watch over the land, the Faeries come out at night to protect the children of Mother Earth and their forest homes from the battles that rage on beyond the clouds above. The rabbits, squirrels, birds, trees and flowers are all cared for by the magikal Fae and even you are protected beneath their wings.

If you honor the work of the Fae on the special Summer Solstice night, they may return your kindness by helping to manifest a wish you asked during the Solstice festival. For this is the night the Fae dance by the bonfires and spread their magik across the land beneath the light of Grandmother Moon.

I Was Told I’m A Born…

Wolfwitch by Springwolf 2012

Am I A Born Witch, Wiccan, Healer, Shaman?

Witch, Wiccan, Shaman, etc…

The popularity of the Full Moon Friday the 13th brought in a huge number of people to my blog and my websites. Along with those visits came a huge amount of eMail too. And I thought it was interested out of all the eMails, there was a recurring theme in about 20% of the bunch.

People have been told by someone, the someone varies from person to person, but someone has told them they are a Born Witch. A naturally born Wiccan or Shaman. A naturally born Healer or  Psychic. And few other things I’d rather not define here.  ;-o

I’ve answered each of those eMails on a personal level, but with the large pattern of recurrences to that question I thought I’d share some information here on the blog about that topic.

The simple answer is.. No, you’re not.
I’m sorry, you’re not a natural born witch, Wiccan, healer, shaman, or anything else like that.

Being a witch, Wiccan, shaman etc.  is a choice, not a birth right or predestined path. There is no witch DNA strand, or Wiccan chromosome in the human body. No magikal cell that can identify you as exceptionally different from any other non-witch, Wiccan, Shaman, Healer or anything else in the context of this question. Those are spiritual paths that one selects to follow, learn about, understand through practice and exercise. Continue reading

The Numerology Of Friday June 13, 2014

"Merlin In The Moon" by Springwolf 🐾

“Merlin In The Moon” by Springwolf 🐾

The Science Of Numbers

Tomorrow is a special Friday the 13th as it also coincides with June’s Full Moon. That’s a rare occurrence and it does have meaning to Pagans. (Friday the 13th and the Full Moon – June 13th, 2014). But so do the numbers within the date itself.

Mathematics is the only language shared by all humans regardless of culture, religion, or gender. We all use the same constructs to add up a basket of groceries regardless of country fund, be it dollars, yen, rubles or pounds. This type of literacy is called numeracy, which has been the shared language of people throughout history and across continents. It links together people from ancient times, old scholars and medieval merchants to artists, modern astronauts, presidents and every day people like you and me.

Consequently many people believe that numbers share insight and meaning to events and people associated with those events. Of course that also applies to Friday the 13th days. And since this one falls on a full moon, the more information and insight you have about the day, the better you can plan your observances for that moment in time. Continue reading

The Popularity of Friday the 13th

for my Friday the 13th Message.

What The Numbers Say

One day closer to Friday the 13th’s Full Moon and another post to make note of this special event. This time it’s a little more personal.

I’ve been writing about Friday the 13th since starting my blog in 2012. It’s come around 4 times so far. Each time I try to share something new about the day and how we Pagans think of the day. “The History of Friday The 13th – A Good Day For Pagans” is by far the most popular topic for a one day event here on Springwolf Reflections.

The most popular topic on average each year has been, and continues to be “Soul Mates, Twin Souls & Karmic Relationships“.

On September 13th, 2013 Reflections had it’s most popular single day. 788 views! And the number one reason? Yep Friday the 13th.

On December 13th, 2013 our visits were near that number, 732. Again, Friday the 13th.

This Friday the 13th coincides with June’s Full Moon. And traffic to Reflections has already started picking up. And again, for Friday the 13th. It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how this week progresses. Yesterday alone brought 327 visitors. Almost half the number of our most popular day. And we were still 3 days away from Friday! Continue reading

Friday, the 13th and The Full Moon

Thirteen On Springwolf ReflectionsWhat’s In A Day?

Thirteen. The number of transition and change. The Witch’s Number. The number of a Perfect Coven and Black Cats.

We’re coming up on another Friday the 13th this week and as usual I wanted to take note of it. It’s typically seen as a day of Good Luck for Pagans. A time to celebrate and take note of transition and change in our lives. To welcome and honor that change as part of the circle of life and the flow of Nature’s energy.

The one constant in Nature is that nothing stays the same. All things change. But in general humans fear change. They’re scared of what’s coming around the corner and what they don’t know. Better the Devil you know, than the one you don’t. But wouldn’t it be better to welcome change and be excited about what’s to come?!

This Friday the 13th is also marked by a Full Moon. In my clan we call this month’s full moon the Strawberry Moon, but it has other Moon Names too. For the Celts it’s the Moon of Horses. For the early Colonials it’s the Rose Moon. For the Cherokee it’s the Green Corn Moon. And of course there are many more.

So is there something special about a full moon falling on Friday the 13th? Of course there is! Continue reading
