Join Paul Cagle, Sushi and Spring as we provide information from our differing points of view. Paul the Paranormal Investigator, Sushi our investigator and resident skeptic and Spring the Metaphysical/Spiritual teacher.

Our PodCasts are available for download, for Free, on iTunes, Stitcher, Spreaker or listen to our current episode directly from our website at aenigmaproject.com.

This week we’ll be talking about:
Samhain and Halloween
Pagan holidays are divided into Quarter and Cross-Quarter observances. Samhain (pronounced Sow-en) is the first Quarter festival on the Celtic Wheel. It marks the end of summer and the beginning of the Celtic New Year. Halloween is a Christian Holiday created by the early Church to convert Pagans into Christianity. While both events have similar themes, they are decidedly different. Especially in today’s Commercial world. Join us for a little history and personal observances. 🎃

Samhain and All Hallows Eve

Samhain
~ by Annie Finch
In the season leaves should love,
since it gives them leave to move through the wind, towards the ground they were watching while they hung, legend says there is a seam stitching darkness like a name.

Now when dying grasses veil earth from the sky in one last pale wave, as autumn dies to bring winter back, and then the spring, we who die ourselves can peel back another kind of veil that hangs among us like thick smoke.

Tonight at last I feel it shake. I feel the nights stretching away thousands long behind the days till they reach the darkness where all of me is ancestor.

I move my hand and feel a touch move with me, and when I brush my own mind across another,
I am with my mother’s mother. Sure as footsteps in my waiting self, I find her, and she brings arms that carry answers for me, intimate, a waiting bounty.

“Carry me.” She leaves this trail through a shudder of the veil, and leaves, like amber where she stays, a gift for her perpetual gaze.
~

It’s that time of year again. The End of Summer and final Harvest Festival of Fall. For those on a Celtic Path, it’s the Celtic New Year. And for those follow Christian Wicca (yes, that’s a thing), it’s the celebration of the Dead.  Here on Reflections we’ve shared information and news about our spiritual observations within Pagan Metaphysics. Take some time and look back over the years.

Hoping you have a fantastic evening of Trick-or-Treating,
with lots of fun, frights and genuine laughter!

and
May you and yours have a wonderfully blessed and exciting Samhain!

Many Blessings,
Spring

Updates To Reflections

Undergoing Some Renovations

We’re Making Updates To Springwolf’s Reflections

It’s been a long time since we’ve updated our articles here on Reflections. Primarily because of the health issues Spring went through in 2016 and early 2017. During that time, Spring and her family moved from Virginia to the Foothills of North Carolina. She officially retired. And has spent the past two-three years recovering from those crisis events.

One of the things that happened during that time, was closing the spiritual center Spring’s Haven. Which also meant shutting down the center’s website. We’re in the process of moving most of the articles from the Center’s website to the Reflections blog here. That means updating articles, our contents list and more. We hope to have the full transition completed by the end of this year. But it’s a work in process.

We’ve also decided to publish these articles with somewhat random dates spread out over the last two years. Primarily because we’ve lost the original publication dates from the Haven website. And we also thought spreading the articles out might make it easier for those new to Reflections to scan through the blog’s past articles as they scroll down and down. Ok, we don’t have a good reason, we just think it’s a good idea, so we’re going with it. 😉

Oh and we’ve upgraded our WordPress plan to remove some of the annoying ads on our site. What’s left are the ones we get money for displaying, ie: the WordAds. The money they generate help us cover the costs of our blog, so we hope you can over look those as your travel through Reflections.

If you are following our blog and have requested email updates about our new articles, you’ll probably feel over run with notifications. We apologize to anyone who feels overwhelmed by that. There’s not much we can do to temporarily suspend notifications.

We’ll be posting a weekly status of the updates we’re making. So if you’re not receiving notifications, you’ll know what we’ve been doing. This week, we’re starting with the Meditation guides from the Haven. Stay tuned.

Sunset Rituals

Why Pagan Rituals Begin at Sunset

Why are Pagan holidays observed at Sunset on the night before the dates listed in most Pagan calendars? The early calendars used by ancient Pagans were based on lunar cycles, not solar cycles. A day did not begin at midnight or with the sunrise, but rather with the night and moon rise.

To the ancient pagans, night fall was the beginning of the new day and rituals would be celebrated as the Goddess Grand Mother Moon rose in the sky to greet her children.

In ancient times, calendars served as a link between the Divine universe and humankind. Thus calendars were often held as sacred tools or sources of information. These early calendars provided instructions for when to plant, hunt or migrate between cold and warm climates. They were used for divination and prognostication, as well as, for tracking religious cycles to honor the Gods or worship the Divine universe. Continue reading

Time To Write Your Abundance Check 10/2019

wolfmoneyNew Moon Energy Reminder

The New Moon this month occurs on
Sunday, October 27th, 2019 at 11:38pm EST.

My friend Rev. Lyn Williams sends out a reminder every month on FB to Write Your Abundance Check.

I think many of us could use this, so I’d like to share it with you. It’s a great way of putting your hopes, faith, dreams or desire for abundance into physical action.

I love Rev. Lyn’s ritual, but I did change it a little to implement some Pagan specific perspectives. If you need some abundance in your life, give it a try. You’ll find the full step-by-step ritual here: Sunday Homily: Writing Your Abundance Check.

Enjoy the ritual!
