Are You Psychic?

How many times have you said to yourself, or someone else “I have a gut feeling”, or “This place or person feels creepy”? We all do it. We all have that inner instinct that tries to warn of danger. Most people ignore those gut feelings. Or dismiss them as imagination or paranoia. But did you ever think, those feelings might be accurate and real?

Psychic: (greek psychiokos – psyche, soul or that which is mental) to sense, to understand and to interpret for practical purposes, a force that enters in and emanates out of the body, mind and/or spiritual or ethereal realms without use of the 5 physical senses.

Being Psychic
Everyone is psychic to some degree, some people are just more in-tune with that side of their mind-body-spirit connection than others. These “gifts” are really just part of your senses. Those gut feelings, they’re really just your natural senses picking up on very subtle energy around you and warning you or sending you a message.

Like all things in life, some of your senses are stronger than others. You might see better than your sister. Or have a better sense of taste than your Mom. But this gives the impression to some people, that a heightened sense is a “gift” rather than a common ability or sense. But we all have those senses. We simply call the one we can’t see or that isn’t commonly accepted, a “Psychic sense”. But let’s be clear up front, we all have the ability and the potential to develop and enhance those abilities with understanding and practice.

As someone becomes aware of their psychic abilities, their often said to be “opening” to their gifts. I really don’t like that word “gift”, because it implies something special and it isn’t special. But the opening up is an accurate description for becoming aware that you have a 6th sense and acknowledging it’s existence. I prefer saying a person is merely walking into a new phase of growth that allows them to become aware of their natural instinct, recognize it and learn to accept it as something tangible.

As you open to these abilities, Divine forces (who or whatever that is to you) participate in your growth to test and teach you certain lessons for discernment and service to your community. When this occurs the positive and negative forces work or fight (take your pick) with us to “shed our vices”, to remove the blocks that will inhibit the progression to develop your senses. When these lessons are taking place, a persons energy shifts and changes. Some friends maybe at odds with the changes they see in you, and their attachments can deteriorate and fall way. Which is what gives a lot of people the idea that this new ability is a negative thing and is to be shunned.

The same is true for work situations, or attitudes that you’ve long held about a particular topic. You’re growing during this time of change, and therefore your perceptions of the world, the world’s perception of you, must also grow and change. Change is never easy. But it’s always present and sometimes necessary.

The most important lessons to learn and achieve is to understand how ego and greed can effect the pure connection to the energy you’re now connecting with. Becoming egotistical or thinking you should use your abilities to improve your financial standing in the world, will bring about a change in energy within yourself. Even the smallest hint of self aggrandizement can bring the level of vibrational energy down and can possibly allow earthbound and/or negative forces to ‘attach’ to your psychic mind. That’s not good. Instead think of your psychic ability as a method of communication for higher purpose, as such, you want to communicate with higher divine forces in your life that can lift you up and those around you as well.

Psychic Abilities
There’s a mired of psychic abilities and terms to describe those senses. Here is a short compiled list to help you understand the different types and levels of psychic abilities.

Clair – Is a French prefix meaning Clear.
In this context, psychic abilities are considered as “Clear” communications to spiritual energy and/or spiritual beings, such as Spirits and Ghosts. Very quickly, Spirits are higher spiritual beings, people you may have known who have now passed and crossed over. Ghosts are earthbound entities who don’t know they have passed, or don’t want to be dead, so they are stuck and bound to the physical plane or Dimension.

Clairaudient-
(Clear Audio/Hearing) To perceive sounds or words from sources broadcasting from a spiritual or ethereal realms.

Clairempathy-
(Clear “emotion”) To sense or “feel” within one’s self, the attitude or emotions of another person.

Clairgustance-
(Clear tasting”) 1. To taste a substance without putting anything in the mouth. 2. To perceive the essence of a substance through taste from the spiritual or ethereal realms.

Clairscent-
(Clear Smelling). To smell a fragrance or odor coming from the spirit or ethereal realms.

Clairsentience-
(Clear sensation or feeling) To perceive information by a ‘feeling within the whole body” without any outer stimulation.

Clairtangency-
(Clear touching) More commonly known as Psychometry. To handle an object or touch an area and perceive through the palms of one’s hands, information about the article or it’s owner or history, that was not previously known by the Clairtangent.

Clairvoyant-
(Clear vision) To see into an ethereal dimension without using physical eyes or stimulation. To reach into another vibrational frequency and visually perceive “within the minds eye” something existing in that realm.

Channel-
A person who allows his/her body and mind to be used as a mechanism for the etheric world intelligence to bring psychic information or healing energy to others.

Channeling –
To allow an etheric world intelligence to enter one’s mind and impress thoughts upon the consciousness to be spoken aloud, using one’s voice, or body to deliver the information or healing energy.

Psychic vs. Channeling
A channel is different than a psychic, in that when one channels they do not interpret the information or energy being received from spirit. It is given to the client just as it is received. Not all psychic’s are channels, but all channels are psychic.

As with most things, there are different levels of channeling, each depending on the mission or purpose of the individual in this incarnation. For instance, someone may be in this existence to perform the service of Divine or Spiritual healing. Therefore they are a healing channel. In their own way, they do channel the energy from the divine directly into the body of their client. But unlike a clairaudent channel, they may not “hear” messages.

The 1st level of channeling is the ability to tap into the higher consciousness of the individual channel. Nearly everyone can do this. It simply takes time, training and practice. This ability allows you to tap into your own personal higher spiritual self.
The 2nd level is the ability to communicate with the Spirit guides or teacher(s) of a client, or the channel them self. Depending on your ability, you might see or hear your personal Spiritual guides or teachers. You feel their energy, and your talent determines how you receive the information they may provide you. At this level, most channels can potentially be able to connect with the teachers and guides of others. And share information that’s specific to those clients.
The 3rd level is the ability to tap into the Soul Group of the Channel or others. When you incarnate from life time to life time, you do so in a group with other spirits. You share connections, karma, lessons and so on. This group can be huge in the way we think of groups on the physical level.
The 4th level is the ability to tap into, or better put, allows a channel to connect with the Divine Conscious Mind of an individual. This is the highest level of communication and not everyone can do this.

Not every channel can reach all these levels, but those that can reach the 3rd level for instance, can also reach the 1st and 2nd levels. These levels of channeling bring with it a great responsibility for service to spirit. That service covers things like learning discernment, unconditional love, sharing knowledge, and helping people achieve their own empowerment and enlightenment. You can’t just “want” to be a channel and bam you’re a channel. The Spiritual Laws of the Universe don’t work that way. Channeling is a reverent ability and must be treated with great personal respect and accountability. Providing information at this level can alter another persons life and mission. That ability comes with a great deal of Karma. Allow your ego to interject in the process, and the negative karma for the channel can become over whelming. I cannot emphasize this enough.

The 4th level channel brings with it some special energies or lessons for a channel to achieve before this higher connection is allowed. And not just anyone will be given the opportunity to achieve that level of channeling. 4th Level Channels are also called Multi-Dimensional Channels, because they can reach into multiple dimensions of the Divine Conscious mind. By that I mean the Divine consciousness within each individual person. They reach this 4th level, only through trance or semi-trance and with guidance from the Divine energies they work with. The energy that is sent through the connection is too great for a conscious channel to handle, no matter how powerful or strong they think they are. Thus the trance and semi-trance state is a key tool utilized by the Divine to make these types of connections.

The universe is a hierarchy, with laws of balance and order. If these requirements did not exist, then anyone could be a channel just by raising their hand. No spiritual enlightenment, no karmic connections and no wisdom needed. Now would you want to get information about your job, loves, or future from someone who hasn’t been prepared by the divine to be a messenger? I doubt it. Let’s face it, that is exactly what a channel is, a messenger of spirit, with access to your inner most secrets, fears, desires and inspirations. That kind of access isn’t taken lightly and it’s why Channels are often referred to as Shamans or Priests/Priestess. Through many previous lifetimes they have worked on karma, lessons (both spiritual and physical) and attained wisdom of service and reverence. And they have chosen to make sacrifices in this embodiment to serve their community and to become a teacher or guide in the physical world, for others seeking help and enlightenment.

Remote Viewing
The ability for a psychic to gather information about an item hidden from their physical view, often at a long distance. The term was introduced by Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff in 1974. The problem with this term is that it’s new and is reportedly something that has been recently developed. A large market for lessons and services popped up around this term, especially since its been incorporated into modern day entertainment mediums.

In actuality this is a very common ability practiced by everyone on the planet. Ever lost your keys and tried to stand in your living room to “see” where they are in your mind’s eye? That’s what this is all about. Nothing more, nothing less. The more connected you are to your psychic senses, the easier it is for you to connect to an item and see what it is, or where it is, or gather information about it.

There are of course a ton of books on developing psychic senses and learning to develop, train and practice your own abilities. The key to beginning any practice is to develop a strong bridge between your own physical brain, and your higher levels of consciousness. Many cultures around the world teach that the best way to do this is through Meditation.
