A Perspective On Tarot

The MoonWhat’s Behind The Card

Many people ask me about a particular card in a Tarot spread they laid out the night or week before. What does it mean, what might it be trying to tell them and how should they apply that to their spread? I can’t answer those questions for people. Why? Because they never share the image of the card or the intent behind its placement in the spread.

Many readers today think that the Moon card, for instance, means the same thing in deck A as it will in deck B. It doesn’t. It has a general category, but the meaning of the card is hidden within the images of that card. And since each deck is different, the message in the images will be different.

Additionally, if the card is part of the Major Arcana vs. the Minor Arcana that will also have influence on the meaning and message of the card. In general the Major Arcana deals with the higher consciousness, the spirit, spiritual karma, lessons and the soul’s mission in this lifetime.

Where as the Minor Arcana will be influenced by the physical aspects of day-to-day life. Your thinking process and perspectives and how those attract or repel energy around you. Continue reading

A Healthy Ego Is Important

The Wise Old Wolf : A Healthy Ego Allows You To Be You

Is The Ego Bad?

Today I saw one of those inspirational FB images and it brought up a thought that I face every week during counseling. It was titled “Overcoming Your Ego” and listed several steps to accomplish that. From my perspective, the steps were overcoming arrogance, or egotism, not ego and that’s an important difference.

The word “ego” has been used as a metaphysical term to describe the self for centuries. By definition it is:
the “I” or self of any person; a person as thinking, feeling, willing, and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and from objects of its thought. ~ Dictionary.com

A healthy ego, allows you to be who you are as an individual. It also allows you to be you and let’s you respect others for who and what they are as well. Continue reading

It’s My Day

Wolf MondayMonday

According to the International Standard (ISO 8601) for Calendar systems, Monday is the first day of the week. For us in the English speaking world, the name of Monday is derived from Old English Mōnandæg and Middle English Monenday, which means “Moon day”. The Old English names derived from Germanic languages which also translate to Moon.

Even the ancient Chinese words for Monday mean “Day of the Moon”. Monday can also be derived from Sanskrit Somavāra, where Soma is another day for the Moon. Now shouldn’t Moon Day be a special day for Pagans? I think so. But there’s more.

According to Wikipedia Weekday Names:
The earliest attestation of a seven-day week associated with heavenly luminaries is in the title of a lost work by Plutarch (46-120AD) titled Why are the days named after the planets reckoned in a different order from the actual order? The order of the days was Sun, Moon, Ares, Hermes, Zeus, Aphrodite, and Cronos, named after the heavenly bodies that presided over the first daylight hour of each day, according to Hellenistic astrology. From Greece the planetary week names passed to the Romans, and from Latin to other languages of southern and western Europe, and to other languages later influenced by them. Continue reading

The Mission Within 2014

numerology-shamanisticA Little Numerological Insight for 2014:

I don’t think we’ve taken a look at the Shamanistic Numerology perspective of the year 2014. So let’s do that today. Because I’ve noticed a big theme in all the Daily Tarot Meditation messages so far during this first month of the year.

I think a little more perspective might help everyone with their personal missions. Not to mention give a little more insight into the events and issues you may face moving forward throughout the year. The more knowledge you have about the energy flowing through the coming months, the better able you are to make conscious choices that could make things a little easier for your own journey. The Black Moon

The Black Moon

The 2nd New Moon Of The Month

The Second New Moon Of The Month

The Moon has long been a significant object in Earth’s orbit to many cultures around the world.  Approximately every three years there are two full Moons in one calendar month. These Blue Moons are often reported in the news and highlighted in a years calendar as being something special.

But with every full moon, there’s also a New Moon which can also occur twice in a single month and is also a rare event. But she doesn’t seem to receive the same spectacular acknowledgement as her bigger sister the Blue Moon.

On January 30th, 2014 we’ll see the second occurrence of the New Moon in a single month. And like the second full moon, the second New Moon also has a special name. It’s called a Black Moon. Continue reading

Words For Thought

MeditationThe Power of Prophecy

The whole point of prophecy, is that it gives you the knowledge to understand and contemplate the effected events. And that provides you with the ability to change the events you don’t like or don’t want to go through.

Whither you attain information from sensing energy, through a psychic reading, or even through meditation or prophetic dream, the information you attain contains the “probable” outcome if the energy feeding the events do not change. What’s the point of learning this information before it happens if you do nothing to change the negative or unwanted events?  Or prepare yourself to take full advantage of the wanted and desired opportunities that lay ahead.

If you allow the negative to become self-fulfilling, it’s because you decided to do nothing and allowed the energy to play out as it has been seen or prophesied. But if you decide to make new choices that will alter the current pattern, you can also change the outcome of those negative events. Potentially even altering them from happening all together.

The choice is up to you. Don’t simply sit on the knowledge you receive. Think about what it means, how you created and what you might need to change to alter its course, or take more advantage of its outcome. It works both ways, and not only for the negative things you want to change

Thoughts & Prayers for Sochi Russia

Go WithinThe Energy of Prophecy

Last night and after I pulled the card this morning, I had an impression about an event and felt the need or desire to share it.

I posted this on my Facebook page:
I have a really bad feeling that something big, on a big scale big, that something truly terrible is going to happen in Sochi Russia during the Olympics. Something more than a suicide bomber type catastrophe. Sending thoughts and prayers that all our Olympians remain safe and sound.

Update 02/07 – Before the Opening Games Broadcast in U.S.
My husband walked into the kitchen and said “What if our feeling about something bad happening, has nothing to do with terrorists. But rather is related to a great catastrophe of some sort? Like one of their rushed to open hotels falling down, or a natural disaster that is made worse because of poor construction of the rushed to ready venues?” It’s an interesting perspective to think about as well. One of the hard parts with defining a global prophecy is getting to the details that can make a difference. Continue reading

Be Yourself

Yes those tests are fun and some can be rather humorous, but are they really you? Probably not. They were probably created by someone looking to have a little fun, or maybe even to advertise some product they’re trying to sell. Very few of them have any real psychological substance to them.

I can’t tell you how many emails, letters or conversations I’ve had with people who have started a sentence by saying “I took one of those online tests and it said I’m….”. Even if you’ve taken a test for fun, repeating the result more than three times starts making it a real definition of who you are from your own perspective.

Repeating a perspective three times and it becomes recorded in your memory. It turns into a belief of how you see yourself. It’s a thought you replay or if it came with an image, a picture that can pop into your head over and over and over, for years and decades to come. You believe it, so you implement its perspective or sentiment into your personality, your character and how you react and relate to the world around you.

Some people might say, well what’s wrong with that? I like being the Goddess Isis. Or the Angel Gabriel. Or akin to Mae West or the movie the Movie Alien. If it’s the characteristics used to define those characters or titles, then by all means associate yourself with compassion, strength, confidence or whatever attribute you like. It’s the energy of the character you can link yourself to, not the character them self. Who may have more baggage attached to them, than you may realize today.

Be careful when you say “I want to be just like you”, because you don’t know all the hardships and struggles someone may have gone through to become the person they are today. And you could be setting yourself up for similar tragedies without even knowing it.

You are the perfect incarnation of the Divine spirit here on Earth. No one else has your unique qualifications to live your life, learn your lessons, receive payments on karma owed to you, or repay the karma you may owe to others. You are you for a reason. Accept yourself. Approve of yourself. Be the best you, that you can be. Spend your time on being who you are and love who you are.

Reflection Inspiration

You Reflect What You Feel

How you look at yourself will determine how others look at you. If you value your self-worth with respect and pride, then others will see you that way and hold you in greater esteem as well.

If you constantly find fault in your skin, your face, how your hair looks, how your voice sounds, what you look like when you walk, move or even sit still, then others will always find and see that fault in you as well. Mainly because being self-conscious about it, you will be drawing energy to it and that’s like a magnifying glass on everything you don’t like.

Reiki Practice & Perspective

Traditional Reiki Hanko

Traditional Reiki vs non-Traditional

Being a Reiki healer is a great practice of healing, but it’s not the only kind of Divine Holistic healing in the world. Asia doesn’t have the corner market on that kind of healing practice and to my knowledge, they’ve never claimed to be the one true Divine holistic healing method. There are many variations of Divine healing and each one has its own name, process and approach. Some don’t like being called Reiki because they believe it takes away from their own traditions and history. Understandable. When you have a tradition that you feel passionate about maintaining, what you call it has meaning.

By the same token, simply calling something “Reiki”, doesn’t make it Reiki. It is up to you as a student or someone looking for healing services to determine what is appropriate for you. But you should know a little about what you’re asking for so you know what is Reiki and what isn’t.

I’ve taken many forms of holistic, or what can be called Divine Energy, healing methods through my half century of living. So I have a small portfolio of healing modalities to compare each one against. For me, Reiki (traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki) fits best with me and what I feel most connected to within my own soul. Continue reading
