The Popularity of Friday the 13th

What The Numbers Say

One day closer to Friday the 13th’s Full Moon and another post to make note of this special event. This time it’s a little more personal.

I’ve been writing about Friday the 13th since starting my blog in 2012. It’s come around 4 times so far. Each time I try to share something new about the day and how we Pagans think of the day. “The History of Friday The 13th – A Good Day For Pagans” is by far the most popular topic for a one day event here on Springwolf Reflections.

The most popular topic on average each year has been, and continues to be “Soul Mates, Twin Souls & Karmic Relationships“.

On September 13th, 2013 Reflections had it’s most popular single day. 788 views! And the number one reason? Yep Friday the 13th.

On December 13th, 2013 our visits were near that number, 732. Again, Friday the 13th.

This Friday the 13th coincides with June’s Full Moon. And traffic to Reflections has already started picking up. And again, for Friday the 13th. It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how this week progresses. Yesterday alone brought 327 visitors. Almost half the number of our most popular day. And we were still 3 days away from Friday!

I’m seriously intrigued by the world-wide phenomenon of this. The U.S. and U.K. are by far the biggest visitors. But close behind in 3rd is Canada. Then Ireland, Australia, the Netherlands, India, South Africa, Israel, Germany, Egypt and Lebanon. There are 22 countries total who show up on the viewing map. All for Friday the 13th.

Sometimes tracking the numbers makes you realize, the world isn’t as different as it pretends to be. We are all connected and intertwined by little events every day.

Admittedly, I’ve posted the heck out of this month’s special event. Well, it’s special. I have a math wiz looking at the numbers for me. How often does a full moon fall on Friday? How often does a full moon fall on the 13th? How often does a full moon fall on Friday the 13th. You can imagine how rare this event really is. So when I received notification this afternoon (06/12/2014) that my stats are skyrocketing, I had to take a look. The day isn’t over yet.

And the day’s final tally.. 1,992. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped create our Best Day Ever. So far anyway. I’ll warn you, today – 06.13.2014 surpassed this number at 10am eastern. We’re rather excited about where this day will come to a rest.
