Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Devil

The Devil

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

That little devilish character within is trying to tell you to relax and have some fun. Things have gotten way to serious lately and the perspective is causing you to miss the little fun things or humorous things that happen in everyday life. So stop waiting around for those big moments of celebration, they are few and far between. Instead enjoy all the little things that happen throughout the day that bring a smile or giggle or even a laugh or two. Besides, smiling makes you live longer.

Additional Insight:

One thing about being on a spiritual journey is that you learn to take more responsibility for your choices and actions. That personal accountability isn’t something to take lightly. It’s one reason why some people say “ignorance is bliss”. But for those on a spiritual path, the knowledge you gain should not be a burden or add to the weight you’re carrying on your shoulders. It’s not something that should focus your attention on the serious issues or choices that fall across your path. Rather just the opposite.

Walking a spiritual path of enlightenment should teach you that even though your free will and choices create accountability, they should also teach you that you’re not alone. You are also empowered to create the path of your dreams and that all things are possible. The knowledge you gain toward enlightenment should lift the burdens that weigh you down because you discover not only what’s really important and what has true value in your life.

When you understand this, the burdens in life are lighter and much easier to carry. The seriousness of stress and anxiety weakens and you can enjoy the little exciting and fun moments that pop up during the day.

Smile because you know all things are possible and you have the power to create them. Smile, laugh a little and let that mischievous devil out once in a while.

What’s In A Name? And What Does It Mean?

Wolfwitch by Springwolf 2012How Pagans Define Their Religion

Do we call it Pagan, neo-Pagan, Witchcraft, Wicca or some other label? Is ‘Witchcraft” the religion or is it something else? If we look at the origins of the word and how it was originally used, then yes, Witchcraft is a religion. But it’s important to look at the origins as well as the meaning of the words as they were initially used to begin this discussion. But it’s also important to look at how these words have evolved throughout time and what they have become to mean.

Words like people evolve in their meaning and in their use. When a religion such as modern paganism has evolved so much through the centuries, does it really make sense to hold onto old labels like “Witchcraft”? Some say no. Others say that was never the name for our religion to begin with. It was heaped onto believes by the early Christian Church and demeans our beliefs and practices.

So how do modern practitioners of paganism define the name for their religion? For that we have to start at the beginning and discuss the meaning, origin and evolution of some of the words and labels that are used within our religion. This maybe tedious stuff, but it’s important to know where you came from in order to understand where you’re going. Continue reading

There are many ghostly legends involving haunted, glowing and moving gravestones in America. While these tombstones can certainly be strange, and even a little spooky, there are few that can be as eerie as the Black Aggie. A name given to a statue that once resided on the grave of General Felix Agnus in Druid Ridge Cemetery in Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, D.C.

Join Paul Cagle and his co-hosts Sushi and Springwolf as we share our research, knowledge, insight and humor, play “Truth or Tale” and talk about the news of the day.

You can listen online and join in the chat room to share your perspective or ask questions for the panel to contemplate and address. If you don’t want to join the chat, you can still listen live on your pc or Smartphone on TuneIn radio! I LOVE this app!

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Six of Wands –

Six of Wands

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Start celebrating, you’ll find victory today and through the weekend. Your hard work is paying off and though it hasn’t felt like it, things are turning around. Don’t forget to acknowledge the spiritual energy you put out as well. Take some time to celebrate your balance of mind/body/spirit in both the physical and spiritual aspects. You’ll be holding up the trophy of success sooner than you think.

Additional Insight:

When we remember that we are both physical and spiritual beings, we can work toward our goals with ALL our energy and resources. Consequently when we do achieve success, it’s important to remember both natures in celebration and honoring the unseen energy that helped you get there.

While it maybe a good weekend for celebration, don’t forget to spend some time in quiet and reverent reflection. Perhaps a little ceremony to thank your spirit guides and the loved ones from spirit who helped you get through the struggles.

No one is an island and there are many, both seen and unseen who have been there for you, pulling for you and perhaps even helping you along the way. Don’t forget to say Thanks while you celebrate your own hard work.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Priestess

The Priestess

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Spend time looking into your crystal ball and deciding what you really want. Stop feeling guilty over wanting something more than you have. Dreams keep you reaching up and working to attain that which you desire. Dreams give you hope and aspirations. Dreams are what keep you going when you face the hardships in life. Sometimes dreams are exactly what you need to overcome the struggles of reality and get you to what you need.

Everyone faces varying degrees of stress and challenges. Yours may not be as bad as others, but they can still weigh heavy on your shoulders. Constant worry creates dis-ease within the physical body and can cause even more stress and anxiety.

Dreams can help us escape from those physical pains and mental dilemmas. They can help us find solutions, direct us to lessons we are facing and ways of overcoming them. They can provide a relief and express our inner desire for a better situation or place to be. It’s ok to have dreams, when they help to provide hope and strength.

Let yourself dream. You can become all you dream and aspire to be. Let your dreams give you the inspiration to go back to school, apply for that new management position, plan and budget for that overseas trip or find the happiness you desire in your life. You never know what you can achieve until you try.

~~~ A little disclaimer:
Dreams can be a very wonderful tool to help overcome challenges. As long as they’re kept in check, as long as they don’t create an unreal reality that you work on in your physical world; (stalking a movie star isn’t going to help simply because your dreams says you belong together). But the feelings of love and inner beauty, can fill your being and shine through all that negative self talk you do during the day. If you believe in you, then others will too.
Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Magician –
The Magician
Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft
Magik is aloft and floating around the spiritual & physical world. Be part of it! Success surrounds you today. Use your intuitive inspiration to resolve issues, conquer challenges and overcome burdens. Pull the magik into your heart and soul as the day progresses. By this evening you’ll be filled with a light that shines through your smile and lights your way toward a brighter future tomorrow. ~ Merry Samhain To One And All! ~
Additional Insight:
What a great card for Samhain and the spiritual New Year! The day is filled with magik and bright energy for a better tomorrow. It’s a day to Walk Your Talk and express your own inner peace and vibrance. Many around you question your character because of your beliefs. Others may actually avoid any contact with you. Today is your chance to pull the Divine Magikal energy into your spirit and allow it to work through you as a positive force of love, compassion and uplifting force.
Take time today to reflect on where you’ve been. Review your magikal journal and read the first pages you had written. How far have you come on your quest toward enlightenment and better understanding? How far have you come to change your life toward a positive future? You have made good and decent strides in your life. Celebrate those accomplishments, no matter how small or how large! YOU DID IT!
Take confidence from those achievements and make plans for the coming year. This evening when the world has grown quiet to sit in meditation. Take time to dance around a bonfire in your spiritual mind and connect with the spirits of the Divine realm. Communicate with relatives you lost this past year, or loved ones who can visit you in spirit on this special night. Make the evening as much about a spiritual celebration as it is a reverent time for reflection.
This weekend, use the magik you feel though today to set new goals and make new plans for the coming year. Spend time then to reflect on what you’ve learned and how you can apply those positive lessons to your path for the spiritual lessons you still want to work on and the achievements you still want to make. All year we’ve talked about “you can do it!”; now that you have done it, celebrate it! Because YOU DESERVE IT!
Thank You For Helping Us Help Others
Help Us Help Others
Our Indiegogo Campaign Has Ended
Yesterday was the final day of our campaign to Help us keep hope alive for shut-ins and the military asking for help. We’re calling it a satisfactory success!
We began our campaign on August 3, 2012.
Our goal was $1,700 and 18 people helped us raise $347 of that. But nearly 380 people helped us to get the word out and share our campaign across social media.
I can’t begin to express what these gifts mean to us here at Spring’s Haven. We may not have meet our ultimate goal, but thanks to Apple’s new iPad Mini we should still be able to meet the need! We’ll know in the next few weeks as we dot the i’s and cross the t’s. So stay tuned for our announcements and new face to face services!!
More than the monetary value, we truly appreciate the thought behind the support and the compassion everyone shared with those in need.  Knowing we have the support of people like those who contributed, shared, tweeted and helped to get the word out, inspires our day and encourages our mission.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and from everyone at Spring’s Haven.
Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Cups –
Two of Cups
Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft
You control your emotions. It’s not up to someone else to make you happy. You can accept the gift of friendship and peace, or you can continue to be angry and lonely. It takes effort and courage to make an offering of friendship. But it takes a little effort to remain stubborn and filled with egotistical anger. Make your choice carefully. It will set actions into motion that you may not want on your path.
Additional Insight:
The littlest decision can touch a hundred relationships, not only today or tomorrow, but throughout your life and even in your future incarnations. Is it worth it to hold onto your stubborn ego and stay angry?
You are not an island and while you may think you are in the right, withholding compassion and love only takes those things away from you in the end. Others will give up trying to be your friend and walk away to find love and compassion somewhere else.
It’s time to grow up and let it go. Your pride and ego are still intact. But they won’t remain so if you continue to build a wall around you that keeps others out or at bay. Tear down the wall of anger and hurt, learn from the conflict at hand and change what you can about yourself that assisted in creating the situation in the first place.
Remember, there is enough blame on both sides to go around. There isn’t a structured line between right and wrong. You’re both right and you’re both wrong. So get over it and move on with peace, love and compassion.
The History Of Samhain And Evolution of Halloween
Samhain – The Celtic New Year
Whether you use the Gaelic pronunciation “Sow-en”, “Sow-ween”, “Sah-ween” or the Americanized version “Sam-hain” (yes that is an acceptable pronunciation), it’s still the biggest holiday on the Pagan Calendar.
It’s the start of the Celtic New Year and honors the year that has passed. It is the time when the veil of forgetfulness is lifted between the physical world and the spiritual world. Where the dead are honored and communication with spirit can take place more than any other time of the year.
For pagans it’s a time of celebration, but it’s also a time of reverence and deep spiritual reflection for the past and the future year to come.
An article by the Library of Congress states: Pagans divided the year by four major holidays. According to their calendar, the year began on a day corresponding to November 1st on our present calendar. The date marked the beginning of winter. Since they were pastoral people, it was a time when cattle and sheep had to be moved to closer pastures and all livestock had to be secured for the winter months. Crops were harvested and stored. The date marked both an ending and a beginning in an eternal cycle. Continue reading
