Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Four of Swords – Inverted

Four of Swords - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Relax, you’re not alone. Someone is always watching over you from spirit and trying to support you through your day. In times of stress and anxiety, all you need to do is clam down, close your eyes and talk to them. The hard part is trusting your instincts and being willing to listen to what they say with an open mind. Sometimes, the answer is “no” for a reason.

Additional Insight:

In times of turmoil and struggle it’s easy for people to feel alone. Even when they’re in a house filled with people. But you’re never truly alone when you have a connect to the Divine Consciousness in your life. There’s always someone watching over you.

Whether you believe in Angels, Spirit Guides or simply close relatives who have passed on, you always have someone you can relate to and talk to. Even if all you believe in is a Divine Spirit, that force is great enough to listen to you and provide insight into your troubles.

The hard part is being willing to make the connection to Spirit and being open enough to listen to the guidance and answers that come your way. Sometimes what you want isn’t what you need and it’s important to be open to the possibility of hearing “no” as a reply.

Even in times of sorrow there are reasons you hit blocks and challenges. Maybe it’s not the right road for you to take at this time. Maybe you’re not ready for what will cross that road up ahead. Or maybe there’s a much better path for you to follow that better supports your spiritual mission in this incarnation. Hear “no” might be hard, but it will be a lot easier to listen now than it will be 6 months down the road when you have invested much more of yourself, time and potentially money on the wrong choices.

As with everything in life; be careful what you ask for…you might get it and find out too late it’s not really what you needed.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Devil

The Devil

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

You’re being followed by someone who wants you all to themselves. Be cautious what invitations to accept. The diversion might be flattering, but the results can get you into some hot water and derail your plans. You’ve worked very hard recovering from past events that tried to bring you down. Don’t throw all that away for a simple smile or batting of the eyes. Their selfish desires might be your undoing.

Additional Insight:

When this little fairy appears, he’s usually warning you about paying attention to the details – “The Devil is in the details, so be cautious”. Today he’s warning about a shadow that’s following you around.

Either a person or an opportunity to fall back on old ways, the shadow behind you is one you left behind in the past. And it should stay there! Don’t let the negativity pull you back from all that you have achieved so far. You’ve come a long way from that struggling person you were and you’ve walked into a more positive present.

The “calling” may be strong and enticing. The stress and anxiety from today may seem overwhelming and you might wonder “well why not this one time”? But this one time will unravel ALL the work you have done to this point. Don’t give in to temptation today and you’ll be able to say “No” more easily for the rest of the week and month.

Don’t allow others to sweet talk you into something you’ll regret later. You have set your plans in place, put forth the effort to make them reality, worked hard to overcome the obstacles and have grown stronger through the self discipline. You don’t need someone else to validate who you have become. You don’t need their approval to be a better person who’s in control of their future. You have changed..and in a good way. Leave the old devils behind and keep moving forward to the place you are meant to be. You can do this! You are strong enough to walk forward. You are the one who approves and validates who you are. Believe in yourself. You will be the victor in the end!

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Star

The Star

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Relax and share your search with those of like mind. It’s a good time to share what you’ve learned and learn from others along the way. Being open to other perspectives helps you nurture those who are struggling, but it also helps you wade through the flow of knowledge and discover new food for thought. Don’t let fear be your guide. Instead, let the Star light help you see what else is out there in the Divine Universe.

Additional Insight:

Taking a look at other perspectives doesn’t mean you have to accept them and apply them to your world. You can learn about others and their views to gain understanding, insight and tolerance for how others walk through their world.

When we share our knowledge and experiences we speak out loud what it is we think we believe and know. Doing so allows us to test our theories and perspectives against other ideas. Do they stand up to the scrutiny? Should they be refined or altered? Or perhaps they simply need to be expanded.

You can’t test your views and grow if you’re unwilling to be open to constructive criticism and debate. Through discussion you may find that this aspect of your beliefs don’t stand up well with that aspect of your beliefs. If you find contradictions in your own views, it’s a good sign that you have more reading and research to do. Don’t become angry when someone else doesn’t agree with you because of that same recognition of conflict. “I didn’t think of it until now” is a perfectly acceptable response.

By sharing your ideas and perspectives you may discover information that you didn’t know existed. You can gain insight and interest that may not change your mind, but may change the way you look at what you think you know. And that new perspective may allow you to expand your own views and be open to new thoughts.

The important thing to remember about being a shining star is you can never know it all. You don’t see everything, even from the highest perspective. Because there’s always a “dark side of the moon” that you can’t see unless you’re willing to travel around to the other side and take a look. You don’t have to stay there, but the new perspective gives you more to look at and more to take in.

So don’t be afraid to shine your light. But don’t be afraid to shine your light on new things and explore what they have to offer. You might even find you agree with the new ideas and want to alter what it is you thought you believed.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Six of Wands – Inverted

Six of Wands: Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Be careful what..and who.. you step on to get to the top. The wake you leave behind will affect those behind you. But it can also stir up consequences that can cause you great problems as you move forward on your path. Sacrificing everything to get what you want is a very high price to pay. And in the end, it’s never worth it. So be careful what you’re willing to give up in order to get what you think you want.

Additional Insight:

Are you willing to sacrifice your integrity, your reputation and the trust others close to you have place in your hands? These things take years to develop and once they have become cracked, they cannot be fully repaired.

Wands represent the essence of Enterprise, Inspiration, and Distinction. Don’t let the self-centered infectious greed of others be your inspiration to succeed. Don’t let their reputation as a blood sucker become the distinction that other remember you by.

Others are trying to change who you are for the promise of the glass pedestal. That stage is very fragile and the slightest wrong move could break it beneath your feet. Not to mention the person(s) asking you to make these sacrifices aren’t the kind of people you want to be trusting in the first place. They could be setting you up to be the pawn in a larger game designed to make you the sacrifice for their own treachery.

It’s ok to say “No thank you. That’s not who I am” and walk away as the victor. Being able to say “No” shows you’re confident and capable of standing on your own. It will actually gain you greater respect from those who are in a better position to help you later on.

Give yourself time to walk through the lessons you have set before you from spirit. Learn those lessons with an enlightened mind, body and spirit. When the time is right for the reputable offer to be made; you’ll be in the right place at the right time to accept the prize and keep it.

Those around you who have watched you change into a more enlightened being, will be excited for you. And their loyalty to you will be the greatest reward of all.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Magician – Inverted

The Magician Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Are you feeling overwhelmed because so many things are up in the air and out of your control? Then stop trying to control everything and allow yourself to focus on what’s important to you and within your control. Make a list and divide the tasks by what you have control over and what you don’t. Then prioritize what you can handle and what you must wait on. Start on the list you have control over and what’s the most important priority.

Additional Insight:

The more you try to control around you, the more you’ll lose. Stop trying to be all things to all people. Stop trying to control every aspect of your world, you can’t and you’ll only drain your resources for what’s really important.

Sometimes you simply have to learn to say “no”. You’re not everyone’s Mom. You’re not everyone’s SuperMan. But you’ve become so used to doing things for everyone else, you’ve lost sight of what’s your responsibility and what’s within your purview.

Today simply say “Stop. I have to get organized and figure out what I have to do before I can “do” for anyone else”. Whether it’s taking care of your kids, or family first or dealing with some paperwork you’ve been ignoring. Write out your lists and then set priorities for them. Which are important vs. which are imperative. Which have immediate deadlines and which can be postponed to help you take care of other things that are more important.

In today’s world of instant gratification, we’ve lost sight and control over time management. Don’t be one of the statistics that fall into the new instantaneous demands and practice patience. If that means others have to learn patience, then so be it. It will probably do them good too.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Temperance – Inverted

Temperance: Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Go with the flow and let the water take you where it may. You may find yourself flowing to greater success by doing so. Allow the flow to bend around those who are in angst. Allow it to pass quickly by those who are negative. Allow it to wash over you, taking away your own frustrations and stress. Allow yourself to simply “be” and enjoy the beauty of the world around you.

Additional Insight:

Sometimes sitting back and working from a place of trust will take you exactly where you need to be, even if it’s not where you thought you wanted to go. Everything in life changes and when we align with the Divine in our life and trust in the flow, we are taken care of.

That doesn’t mean you can always sit back and do nothing. It means sometimes, you’ve done what you can and pushing the issue could take you unintentionally across the rapids.

As you work to bring your dreams and hard work into manifestation, you must know when it’s time to make things happen and when it’s time to allow things to work on their own. Your work involves more than you to become reality. And sometimes you must sit back and wait.

Take in the beauty around you. Allow it to inspire you and perhaps even display solutions to some outstanding problems and issues you face. There are many ways the Divine provides answers to our questions. Sometimes all we need to do is sit back, relax, go with the flow and look. Then they usually pop right out and seem so obvious we wonder why we didn’t see that before.

The Challenges We Face In Life

Challenges

Facing Challenges

Why Does “God” Test Us?

Recently in a forum of Metaphysical Ministers this question was posted.

Does anyone in our group believe that God tests us, or tests the strength of our faith?
Rev.R.M.

The question isn’t an uncommon one. Nor is it one that is accepted on blind faith by Ministers. There are many answers and perspectives of course, because we all have a different way of looking at spiritual belief and practice. A Christian may say “Yes, God may test your faith and devotion of service to his teachings by placing challenges upon your path”. Unitarians might say “No, God doesn’t set up challenges to test our faith. But we set up problems in our lives to learn lessons”.

The wonderful Metaphysical Ministers within this group have similar perspectives to my first response. But when asked this question I have two perspectives to reply to this. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Queen of Cups – Inverted

Queen of Cups - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Sometimes even the Queen needs to hide beneath the lily pads and let others take care of business. A fog hovers over the day and it’s not a time to think through big decisions. Do what absolutely must need to be done.  But let the rest wait until tomorrow. Take care of yourself today, be gentile with your physical body and keep it from injury or over work.

Additional Insight:

Sometimes the Divine Universe reminds us that we’re connected to the greater world around us. As weather patterns change, so does its effect on our physical body. The turmoil going on around you has taken a toll on you. Be it actual weather patterns, or energy from the community you live in you maybe feeling drained today.

Relax. Don’t over do it and give yourself a little “me” time. Walk a little slower, don’t get stressed out about little things, leave the big things until tomorrow when your head is a little more clear.  Avoid anything physically strenuous or that little sore muscle could turn into a serious problem.

Show a bit of patience for those around you who aren’t reacting as well to the pressures. A little compassion might be helpful or you could simply walk away go to your room and close the door. Leave the world to its own devices and focus on your piece of the Universe.

Tomorrow will be a brighter and better day.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Hermit

The Hermit

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Light your own way and you’ll find the right path for you. Following others can lead you away from where you need, and truly want to be. It’s your life and you must take accountability and responsibility for it. So stop being the follower of the group and taking orders from someone who doesn’t have your best interest at heart. Carry your own lantern and find where it leads you.

Additional Insight:

Not everyone has the confidence or charisma to be a leader of the group. But you don’t need those things to lead yourself. No one has more knowledge about you, than you do. If you take the time to go within and connect with your higher spirit you can find the path that’s right for you.

Believe in yourself and trust in your spiritual consciousness. Don’t be afraid to listen to your inner voice and walk away from situations you know aren’t good for you. Let others walk their path and make their mistakes. You don’t have to follow them down the hard road. You don’t need their approval or acceptance to be who you are.

Validate your own life by taking control of it and being the guide that leads you through the forest safely, avoiding the pitfalls and traps. There’s no reason to fight others you have no issue with. There’s no reason to be the pawn in someone else’s battle. Allow your spirit to provide the validation and approval for your life and ignore those who want you to follow their road into the dark forest. All you will do is walk farther from your own path and become lost in someone else’s domain.

Remember you are the perfect creation of the Divine for your life in this time and place. You already have all the talents and abilities to lead yourself through the world that your soul intended you to explore. You have all the strengths and opportunities to learn your lessons, pay and redeem your karma, and contribute to the world around you. As well as the chance to claim your rewards.

Belief vs Knowledge

Wise Old Wolf

The Wise Old Wolf

How Wisdom Is Created

Blind faith is something we teach against in most pagan circles. Simply because someone else said this is true, or that is fact doesn’t make it real or accurate. Simply because something comes from old knowledge or understandings doesn’t mean it’s valid today.

Think about what people were sure of 1,000 or 1,500 years ago. Everyone believed the Earth was flat and if you sailed to far, you’d fall off the world. Of course today we know how silly that is. Image 1,000 years from now and wonder what is it that we’re sure about today that will be completely invalid in the future.

Blind faith doesn’t teach, it doesn’t inspire, it doesn’t allow an individual to experience, expand or grow. We cannot limit our experience in life by what we believe we know to be true. We must put our beliefs to the test.

“The word ‘belief’ is a difficult thing for me. I don’t believe. I must have a reason for a certain hypothesis. Either I know a thing, and then I know it- I don’t need to believe it.” ~ Carl Jung

But you cannot prove blind faith or belief, nor claim it to be true or accurate. That’s the whole point of belief. You either believe it or you don’t. You can share the same concepts of belief with others. But every person may have tiny little differences in how they apply those beliefs to life and the situations around them. So they’re never exactly the same. But why? Continue reading
