Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Four of Swords

Four of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Your struggle is over and you can rest. Don’t sit back and forget to do what needs to be done. But stop feeling like you’re on the edge of the cliff. Relax. Everything is ok and you will be able to move forward easily.

Additional Insight:

You and the one close to you have been on edge for many months, maybe even years. Your fortitude and endurance are paying off. Even if you don’t see everything coming to fruition right now, it doesn’t mean things aren’t being worked on behind the scenes.

Don’t dwell in the past. Don’t get stuck in the muck and the mud of past conflicts.  They’ll only hold you back from the blessings you deserve. Let the Divine take care of those who crossed you and allow yourself to move out of the strain, stress and anger.

Your security is at home with the one you love. That’s where you can focus your attentions and relax. Find your strength in the arms of those who you’re close to. If you don’t take the moments of peace and serenity when you can, they can be lost forever. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Wheel of Fortune

Wheel Of Fortune

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

There are many aspects on the wheel of life that point to our fortune. Health, happiness, love, family and yes even finances. The wheel shows us that we have many things to be thankful for today. And that our fortunes can change when we focus on the positive energies of our life. We can use those blessings to free the wheel from the over growth that holds us in place and allows for the manifestation of new fortunes to arrive.

Additional Insight:

We can allow the weeds of the past to grow beneath our feet and eventually clog our ability to move forward. Or we can rise above and focus on what is working, then use that momentum to let go of what’s holding us back. We all have the ability to improvise, adapt and overcome. The question is, are we willing to release the old baggage that keeps us from flying forward with trust and freedom?

Don’t allow fear of change to keep you from taking a well thought out calculated chance. The risk isn’t as great as you might think it is, when you’ve applied yourself to a plan and thought it through as best you can. Continue reading

What Creates A Successful Union

Respectful Love

Respectful Love

Respectful Commitments
While I’m waiting for scans to run on my laptop, I was reminded of what makes a relationship work. It can be applied to any relationship, but in particular to intimate relationships. Whither it’s a marriage or a long-term partnership, you can’t sustain any relationship for the long haul without respect.

When I officiate a wedding, a handfasting, or any commitment ceremony, I always include this:
“A marriage cannot exist and thrive without mutual respect. Respect of ideas, feelings and expressions of conscious and desire. Without respect you cannot support each others dreams, or care for one another in sickness. You cannot share the intimacy of your love, or honor the sacrifices you each will make to sustain your partnership and your family. Respect will maintain your love for one another even when those moments of dissatisfaction arise and angry words are spoken.”

Respect will pull you together in times of stress and struggle. Instead of pushing you apart and creating dissatisfaction, blame and anger that can tear your love apart. It creates a united front based on support and wanting to overcome the challenges life can throw at you. Working together and holding each other up when one of you loses the energy to fight sustains your strength as a partnership. Reminding each other that “we will be ok” goes a long way to helping each of you to fight another day and triumph over adversity.

But respect also works when times are good. When you’re walking down the street and feel the pull to walk arm in arm. For the 20year relationship that sits at a restaurant and still reaches across the table to touch each others hand. It reminds you of why you fell in love in the first place and promotes those soft intimate moments to rub a shoulder, or caress a knee when laughter overcomes you both. Respect is what’s needed for any long-term relationship of love. When you respect your partner, nothing can pull you apart.

Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki

Healing Through Compassion & Affirmation

Reiki: Caring with Compassion

From A Traditional Reiki Master

Reiki is an ancient art of healing. It is often referred to as a Zen art of hands on holistic healing, where the healer is a channel for the Divine Universal Life Force Energy.

From the Reiki Alliance:
Reiki is a Japanese word translated as “Universal Life Energy” by Hawayo Takata.
She brought the possibility of a relationship with this energy to us through Usui Shiki Ryoho, a healing system founded by Mikao Usui in the early part of the 1900’s.

Usui Shiki Ryoho can be translated as “the Usui System of Natural Healing.”
Until the mid-1990’s, this was the most common translation and was used by nearly all of the various forms of hands on healing practice that came from Hawayo Takata’s teaching. At this time, Phyllis Lei Furumoto decided to return to the Japanese title of the practice to identify the form of practice and the system that she teaches: Usui Shiki Ryoho.

Takata trained 21 Reiki Masters before her death in 1980. One of those Masters was Rev. Beth Gray, who was my first Reiki teacher for Reiki I and II. I have been a practicing Reiki Healer since 1989.

I convinced a friend to take Reiki, who said she would if I took the classes with her. I call these my refresher classes, this time with John Harvey Gray (Beth’s husband). I really found the refreshers beneficial and they inspired me to take the next step and I became a Reiki Master Channel in 1996.

Over the past two decades of practice I have learned a few things and changed my view of some aspects of Reiki. I originally wrote a set of  articles about Reiki and what I had learned in 1999, and shared them on my website PagansPath and they have seriously needed updating. Primarily because of the evolution of Reiki around the world, some good, some not so good. And because my views on the traditional teachings have also evolved. With practice comes greater understanding and insight.

I overhauled this section in January 2013 and added my Reiki Introduction to my business site, Spring’s Haven. I continue to add and update to these articles, along with sharing perspectives about Reiki here on my blog.  Below you will find links to both the Reiki Introduction and the additional blog perspectives.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Star

The Star

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

It’s not always easy to go with the flow, but it’s a lot easier than going against the current. Don’t make double the work on yourself today. Let things fall where they may and pick them up as you go. There are things that are definitely worth waiting for, so don’t push it!

Additional Insight:

There’s a right time and place for everything in life. If you give in to temptation or try to force things to happen before you’re ready, you likely to fail. And there are plenty of nay-sayers who are standing by waiting and watching for you to fall flat on your face. So don’t give them to chance to point fingers and say “I told you so”.

You don’t need to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. You can be flexible as things change in the ebb and flow. After all, change is the only constant in the universe. If the door won’t open for you as you pass it by, then it wasn’t meant for you in the first place. Be grateful you didn’t step inside and keep going.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Three of Cups

3 of Cups

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

The creation you desire is within you. Let your gut feelings guide you and take you to a place of celebration and peace. You have friends and family who support you and want to help you create your dreams and achieve your goals. Welcome their suggestions and assistance.

Additional Insight:

No one ever achieved success alone. There is always someone, or many people, along the way who help along the way. Whither it’s family, friends, or new business associates, opportunities to open new doors come with the help of those you meet along the way. Today remember that things happen in 3s through your Mind/Body/Spirit connection. So don’t ignore the gut feeling, the visualization and the practical reality.

Don’t be afraid to share your dream. Creating a plan together can help you discover pitfalls you never thought about. Don’t take suggestions personally. It’s ok to allow someone to play Devil’s Advocate. You may have answers for all the blocks or problems suggested. But then again, you may be confronted with one on paper you didn’t even think about. Welcome that comment, even if it’s from a nay-sayer. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Moon

The Moon

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t be afraid to sing your own song. You don’t have to be like everyone else to fit in. If someone isn’t accepting you the way you are, then perhaps you don’t need them in your life. Always remember, respect is a two-way street.

Additional Insight:

Others don’t have to agree with you, anymore than you must agree with them. But you don’t need to belittle their views and you shouldn’t put up with them putting you down. Hold yourself in higher esteem by showing respect for what they think and believe, even if you don’t agree with it. You’ll get that respect back.

But if you don’t then maybe it’s time to walk away. You choose who you allow into your life. Don’t keep the negative people or their energies around you. You’re growing and moving forward. If they refuse to walk forward on their own path, don’t feel you must stay stagnate with them. If they disrespect you by calling you names, putting you down, or dismissing your views, then let them go and move away from that negativity.  Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Five of Wands

Five of Wands

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Magik is a foot and there are surprises coming your way. Don’t set up expectations. If the gift doesn’t rise to your dream, you’ll be setting yourself up for disappointment. Every gift no matter how big or small, is a blessing and should be appreciated.

Additional Insight:

It may not be exactly what you wanted, but it’s a step in the right direction. If you show disappointment in what’s coming your way, you’ll put a cog in the wheel and you could stop everything in its place. Let the process flow in its right time and place. Let the energy grow and become what you need, and maybe you’ll find what you really desire.

Remember what we think say and do, create what we live. If you simply placate the “giver” and return fake gratitude, you will put that energy out to the Divine Universe. It’s not the appreciation that will travel through the strings of energy. But the negative false sense of gratefulness.

Big things can come in little packages, whither they’re from the Divine in your life, or a person trying to share what they can. Sometimes little things don’t seem like much, but they could be everything that someone else has to give. Be thankful for that “everything”,  it’s a lot to give and shouldn’t be turned away or under valued.

Appreciate the little things as much as you do the big things. Each gift can build on the next and grow into something great and exciting. They can be totally unexpected and become much more than you dared to dream. So no matter what the gift, be grateful, thankful and welcome the kindness of others.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t ignore the low hanging fruit that can bring gifts throughout your day. Stop focusing on what you don’t have and concentrate on what you do have. Things are not as bad as you’re making them out to be. Stop it, or you will manifest the worst scenario.

Additional Insight:

What we think, say and do will create our present. Be cautious over what you put out to the Divine Universe through your own thoughts. Your worry can manifest the disaster you’re trying to avoid.

Focus instead on the new goals or plans you have in the works. Start putting the ideas into action and establish some real progress on the answers you’ve developed. Keeping them in your head is not going to make them come to fruition. And the Divine Universe is not going to simply give it to you without a little work on your part.

The old adage “God helps those who help themselves” is an accurate philosophy to follow. There’s no magik wand that’s going to manifest your dreams for you. This isn’t hollywood and you’re not Harry Potter. Stop looking for excuses or quick fixes. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Four of Wands – Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Share the magik and give yourself permission to learn from others while you teach what you have learned. There’s no need to remain in the dark and dwell on what has been. Trust your instincts and you’ll end the day with fulfillment.

Additional Insight:

We often pull away from others out of fear and worry of ridicule. We create a wall between ourselves and those we care the most about. Over time we allow our emotions to get the best of us and without even knowing it we find ourselves alone and segregated from the rest of the world.

Let go of the worry and concern about what others think of you. They are not here to create your labels and your world. That’s your responsibility. They don’t have to agree with you. If they don’t it’s ok, it’s not a reflection on you or your knowledge and wisdom. There’s no reason for you to lash out at others because they won’t allow you to define who they are either.

For today, be at peace. Center yourself and your energies on sharing what you’ve learned in a respectful and loving way. Show that you are thoughtful and calm. But that you’re willing to learn from those around you who may have a different way of looking at things.

It’s ok to change what you think and believe when you apply new facts to the tale. We all evolve each and every day in our physical world. And it’s ok to evolve your thinking in the mental and spiritual worlds as well. Be blessed and be at peace today.
