The 2015 Moon Phase Calendar

"Merlin In The Moon" by Springwolf 🐾

“Merlin In The Moon” by Springwolf 🐾

And Beyond

2014 marked the last year I will provide an update to the moon phase calendar on my education site Pagan’s Path. You can view all the calendars we have shared since 1999, on the Path in our Moon Phase Archive.

With the advent of technology and “smart devices”, better moon phase apps have become available and our moon calendar has become obsolete. These new apps do a great job of personalizing phases and events for your specific location and notifying you of phase changes.

If you have a tablet or smart phone, I have a couple of apps on my phone that I use throughout the year that you might like. I have a reminder set for a few days before a moon phase change so I have time to get ready for a ritual or make plans for an Esbat ceremony I might be officiating. Between my two favorite apps, I never miss a phase change or a daily event.

I gave a critique of some of these apps here on Reflections in December 2012. You will find that review on Sun & Moon Watching On Your Phone and I will update it as apps and time permit.

If you don’t have a smart device, you can still follow the phases online through MoonConnection.com and the US Navel Observatory.

For those of you who have relied on the Pagan’s Path yearly Moon Phase calendar, I’d like to say thank you so much for your support and for relying on us to help you through the year!

Many Blessings,
Spring

The 12 Days of Yule

Merry Yule To You and Yours!

Merry Yule To You and Yours!

Celebrating The Winter Solstice

Today marks the Winter Solstice. The first day of Yule for pagans and it begins the 12 day celebration that honors the Triple Goddess and the rebirth of the God in the form of the Sun.

In the days of old, calendars were based on a variety of sources. Some were lunar or astrological. Some were remarkably accurate, others may have been off by a day or more. Some may have been based on calculations that were learned through years of observations, or passed down through generations. And then there were those that tracked the sun through early temple or monument structures. Continue reading

A Statement Of Unity
News Release 12.10.2014

Spring’s Haven and Springwolf Reflections  release a statement on the recent violence  that has highlighted racial inequality and violence against humanity.

Everyone here at Spring’s Haven and Springwolf Reflections share concern with many in the world and within our Pagan communities regarding inequalities between people not only in the American justice system, but within our societies and cultures as well. And on the recent release of a U.S. Congressional report on torture.

As Pagans, we view all life as sacred and as such, all lives matter. That belief extends not only to human life, but ALL life. We see our Divine world in the context that I am not the Goddess, you are not the God. But you and I, and all things seen and unseen throughout the Divine Cosmos make up the Divine Consciousness of the All and Everything. Continue reading

Sunday Homily: Learning To Communicate

How We Think

How We Think

How We Think Impacts How We Talk

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes it takes a little while to find out what the reason is, and others it becomes obvious from the start.

Being a political junkie, I typically start my Sunday’s with the morning News/Political debate programs. Meet the Press is my most favorite. A few weeks ago I was getting my morning cup of coffee and preparing to watch the morning debates when one of the cats decided to turn the channel while I was out of the room. As I returned to the tv, there was a discussion with Blair Underwood and Vanessa Williams.

I assumed this interview was in the news for some reason and the Sunday morning debate was playing a snippet of this interview. It took a few minutes to realize the channel had been changed to BET and I wasn’t watching what I thought I was.

What I discovered however, was very interesting and I watched the remainder of the program. There was a reason for the kitty-cat intervention. Ok, kewl.

Ms. Williams was discussing a book she had read, What Could He be Thinking by Dr. Michael Gurian. Her synopsis of the book piqued my curiosity enough, that I had to pick it up myself. It’s a great book on how our brains work differently and the science behind that. It’s not a bad or degrading study suggesting one sex is smarter than the other. Merely a study in the way we process information differently within the human brain.

As a Spiritual Counselor, this kind of scientific and psychological study is something that truly interests me. The more we understand about how we process information, the better we can communicate and resolve issues. Not only in our relationships with partners and family, but in society as well. How we think and process information during our varying emotions is a key component to understanding how we put our choices and actions into practice. Continue reading

A 5 Year Anniversary

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

How Things Have Changed

Five years ago on this very day, December 1st, I began pulling a tarot card and sharing a message for your daily meditation. The messages for those first cards were very short and sweet. No additional insight was given. It was simply my way to bring attention to my new spiritual business through social media and advertising. How those initial messages have changed.

Dec. 1, 2009
Queen of Wands
Today is filled with creative magik, communication and oversight.

It wasn’t until March 2010 that the daily message began to expand on the initial message of the cards to add at least one more sentence to put the images into context. By May 2010 I had settled into sharing a daily card and finally became more comfortable with divining messages for a public preview.

It wasn’t until 2012 that I began expanding on the initial message posted on Spring’s Haven here on my blog. So there’s a few more years to go before that milestone comes around.

But this one is a big one to acknowledge. And I’m so grateful for the years of kind and supportive feedback I’ve received from everyone who has shared their thoughts. Your messages really do help and I’m honored you take the time to write your words and share your perspectives. Continue reading

Giving Thanks

2014thanksgivingThank you

Everyone at Spring’s Haven and Springwolf Reflections would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to our customers and fans.

We wish you and those dear to you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. May your heart be filled with gladness and your home be filled with joy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m trying not to spread my medical business over the internet, but that’s not easy to do these days as friends want to extend their thoughts and prayers on social media to get well. And I am thankful for those thoughts. But it leaves out a lot of information for those who don’t know what’s going on around here.

Let me simply say, I wound up in the hospital last week as the result of a medical emergency. They ran tests and found out what was happening and thankfully it’s nothing major. I’m recovering and now that we know what’s up, we’re able to treat it long-term. The good news is, the damage isn’t permanent and I’m doing better than I was.

I want to extend a special Thank you to everyone who has sent thoughts, prayers and healing my way. I really appreciate it and I’m thankful for such wonderful blessings.

Vote – It’s A Right You Should Honor

I'm Pagan & I Voted

I’m Pagan & I Voted

I’m Pagan And I Voted

Are you tired of the attack ads, political spin, false accusations and fear-mongering? Me too. All the money it took this election cycle to buy your vote is obscene. And that has made many Americans disenfranchised.

Many wonder if their votes mean anything when they’re up against Billionaires like the Koch brothers, Donald Trump and others who have their own agenda.

The only way your vote can be bought is if you don’t vote at all. By not voting you’re allowing those Big Super Packs to court the votes of those who fall into their manipulative clutches.

If you want to change things, if you want the economy to turn around, then stop allowing the corporations to vote for you and stop them from electing representatives that are going to vote for the Corporations and not for you.

Reflections On Today’s Numbers

20141028-p1177The Numerology of 1177

If you’ve been around here for a little while, you know that from time to time numbers catch my attention. When they do, I like to analyze their significations in relation to what’s going on with the day and where they popped up.

When those numbers are connected to my work, I like to share that insight with you. Because it might have some significance to your day.

That happened today when I posted a little News item about appearing on KAOI’s show Talk Story with Cindy Paulos. The longest running talk show on Maui, where Cindy interviews celebrities, political leaders and spiritual teachers.

I posted the news and received the notification this was 1177th post on this blog and it grabbed my attention. Trust your instincts. When something grabs your attention, whether it’s out of the ordinary or something that happens nearly every day, it’s trying to share a message with you. Continue reading
