Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Queen of Cups

cups-queen

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Follow your gut feeling today. Don’t dismiss the inner voices making suggestions about what you need to be doing, checking up on, or avoiding. Don’t let others try to guilt you into doing something and stop feeling bad about saying “no” to something you don’t really want to do. It’s your schedule, keep it in your domain and be the ruler over it.

Additional Insight:

Your gut feelings today are right on target. Make sure you’re listening and stop feeling guilty about being responsible over your own tasks and desires. You do plenty for others and today you have things on your schedule that need or that you want to do for you.

Why should you sacrifice your plans because someone else couldn’t be accountable to the commitments they made? Yes there’s a time and place to make sacrifices for a friend, for family or for someone you really care about. Today isn’t that day. Seriously, if you give into the guilt, you’ll never have time for you and what you need to get done.

If someone gets upset because you say “no” to their request, than they had an expectation of you and your time that they didn’t have a right to hold. Is that really your fault? Only if you made a commitment to them earlier that you’re not keeping today. So why are you feeling guilty? Maybe if they had asked you a few days ago for some help, you could have been there. But don’t give into their manipulation of guilt. That’s them being selfish and self-centered about their needs.

A 5 Year Anniversary

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

How Things Have Changed

Five years ago on this very day, December 1st, I began pulling a tarot card and sharing a message for your daily meditation. The messages for those first cards were very short and sweet. No additional insight was given. It was simply my way to bring attention to my new spiritual business through social media and advertising. How those initial messages have changed.

Dec. 1, 2009
Queen of Wands
Today is filled with creative magik, communication and oversight.

It wasn’t until March 2010 that the daily message began to expand on the initial message of the cards to add at least one more sentence to put the images into context. By May 2010 I had settled into sharing a daily card and finally became more comfortable with divining messages for a public preview.

It wasn’t until 2012 that I began expanding on the initial message posted on Spring’s Haven here on my blog. So there’s a few more years to go before that milestone comes around.

But this one is a big one to acknowledge. And I’m so grateful for the years of kind and supportive feedback I’ve received from everyone who has shared their thoughts. Your messages really do help and I’m honored you take the time to write your words and share your perspectives. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Nine of Pentacles – Inverted

9 of Pentacles - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Make sure the little things in your life know they have value. In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we can get wrapped up in getting things done, that we forget what we’re doing them for. Make sure the little things know they have value and that finances aren’t the only measure of worth. Sometimes a hug has more value than any gift card can ever buy.

Additional Insight:

Many people work so hard making sure their holiday season is perfect, that they forget what the holiday season is all about. Start this season out on the right foot and make it more about love and kindness; not the number or size of presents under the tree. Set the tone up front and make this one more meaningful and different from the very beginning.

Watch your dimes and quarters; make sure you remain within your budget. But also remember that the commercialization of this time of year isn’t what this season is all about. And you’re the one who will control that perspective in your household.

Not all families are out of the financial crisis of the Great Recession. People are still fighting tooth and nail to stay afloat or to keep from going under all together. That extra bit of cash you have might do more good if it’s offered to a local food bank, or buy a holiday dinner and take it to your local public school. The counselors there will know the families who could use it most. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Two of Swords

Two of Swords

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

It’s a day to be Mindful and pay attention to what your mind is creating and building around you. Remember what you think, say and do will manifest in the physical world. Don’t allow your fear and angst to set a pattern of self-destruction. Self doubt, negative self talk and even self-deprecating words to be funny will create your reality. Stop it and love who you are.

Additional Insight:

There’s a difference between being humble and not being able to accept a sincere compliment. If you find it uncomfortable to simply say thank you when someone says something nice about you, you’re allowing your self-doubt to rule over your day. Putting yourself down in response to kindness does harm not only to yourself, but even to the one giving you the compliment. It’s as if you’re telling them that their opinion and thoughts don’t matter or that they ave no meaning.

Stop the self-doubt and negative self talk. you are the perfection of Divine creation for this physical and spiritual embodiment. Stop putting yourself down and start walking the path of love and acceptance that you’re here to walk.

You can accomplish anything when you believe in yourself. And that starts with accepting who and what you are. If there’s something about yourself that you don’t care for, then work to change it. Only you can change yourself. No one can wave a magik wand and grant your wishes. It takes commitment, effort and love of self to change for the better. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Eight of Wands

Eight of Wands

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t let the frustration and attitudes of others ruin your day. Remember others are going through a great deal of stress too. You’re not the cause, of their angst so don’t take it personally. Take a deep breath, calm yourself and set a shield of protection that will keep the negative energies away from you. Then remember where you were 6 months ago and show some compassion. Maybe they simply need someone to talk to. Remember those days? Listening can go along way to helping someone else.

Additional Insight:

You don’t have to spend the day dodging spears and anger. You have a choice to walk away. Go to another room, close the office door, or simply find a quiet place to work.

You can also remember how you felt when you were overloaded with stress and show some compassion too. Remember when you simply wanted someone; anyone; to notice you exist? Maybe that’s exactly what someone else is wishing for now.

Don’t take the bait and step into the ring. This argument isn’t about you, so don’t allow it to take over your day and create strife in your world. You’ve been through the battles and there’s no need to create something new. Relax and take a deep breath. See this for what it really is. Someone else is going through a great deal of anxiety and they’re looking for anyone or anything to release it. Be a friend, not an adversary and help them out. After all, you’ve been there and know exactly how they feel. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Knight of Wands

Knight Of Wands

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Be on guard and keep your eye on the end game. Don’t get distracted today and don’t let others divert your attention. Stay strong and be accountable for your choices. If you want to be self-sufficient, you’re going to have to do the work that comes with that responsibility. Stop letting the unknown instill fear within your psyche. Rather, look at the unknown as an exciting adventure ready to show you the beauty of the world around you.

Additional Insight:

Being able to take care of yourself requires work and constant oversight of your life. That’s not hard when you accept the responsibility to be self-sufficient. It’s merely part of life. No one is going to look our for you, better than yourself. So be self assured and confident in your own gut feelings and ability to keep your path moving forward.

Don’t be afraid to do the work or see it as a daunting task. All it takes to remain vigilant is a little self-control and confidence. Don’t feel pressured or pushed into something that you haven’t had time to review on your own.

Don’t blame someone else for making a choice “for you”. In order to fight for what’s yours and attain your desire for self-sufficiency, you must have the courage to say I’d like a few minutes to read this, or research and gather information so I can make the best decision possible.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Someone is watching out for you, even if you don’t notice when they go out on a limb. You don’t have to focus on rationing what you have through the next six months, so relax a little. That doesn’t mean you can go out on the town every night either. It means living within your means and you’ll get through the early stages of your come back. Don’t be afraid to get some expert advice. Simply make sure the expert has your best interest at heart. Always be in control of your world and make your own decisions. Don’t give that power to someone else, even if they’re on your side. Soon you’ll be able to share your abundance and what you learned on the path of getting through the struggles of lack.

Additional Insight:

It’s great that you’re finally seeing and feeling the changes in energy around your personal world. So let go of the fear that’s holding you back from reasonably moving things forward. You don’t have to ration out what you have in the cupboard like you did last month. It’s ok to share some of the new abundance and give everyone a little more on their plate.

It’s still not time to be going out three or four times a week and blowing the allowance you’ve set for yourself. In order to keep things moving forward you must create a budget and stick to it! Live with in your means, not within the champagne budget you wish or imagine you have. Be responsible and hold a little back for that one special celebration item. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Priest

The Priest

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Use your internal insight to empower your growth and much-needed healing. You’ve put out so much of yourself over the past year from everything you lost and had to give up as a result. The struggles have taken a toll and zapped both your physical and mental energies. Get out into the garden, woods or fields and allow Mother Nature to wrap around you in Mind/Body and Spirit. Allow the healing to bring back at least some of your adventurous spirit.  Take a drive to a nearby park and have a picnic, go for a walk in the woods with a friend or family member. And share some meaningful time talking about nothing, everything and all that in between.

Additional Insight:

Part of overcoming struggle is allowing your whole self to be at peace and calm in the new life you’re re-building in better ways. Spend a few hours away from everything that stressed you out in the past. Let go of all the overwhelming sorrow and despair you’ve been through. You’ve mourned long enough.

Now is the time to heal the wounds and stop dwelling on the past. Each time you cry or focus on the struggle, you’re only reopening old wounds that keep you in despair. That kind of energy will not allow you to heal, nor will it clear the way for new and exciting things to enter.

Allow your inner spirit to guide the way and remind you of the carefree spirit you have within you. You don’t need money to take a walk in a park. Even the biggest cities have pockets of greenery to surround yourself with. Don’t make excuses, don’t talk yourself into staying on the couch. Get outside with someone you care about and share some quality time. Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Knight of Cups

Knight Of Cups

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Be vigilant. You’ve made great progress and achieved many goals, but you’re not finished yet. You can’t hand off your chores to others and be done with it. To be in control of YOUR life, you must stay involved and provide oversight to the tasks at hand. Don’t micro-manage. You’re still the one who is accountable for the work going on in your name. So make sure you know what’s going on, or at the very least, what the current status is. Your remaining tasks need your energy to continue to flourish and manifest in a timely fashion that’s good for you!

Additional Insight:

While the big battles are completed and you’ve managed to reach the top of the mountain, you’re not at the summit yet. The plateau you’ve reached has provided a little time to relax and regain your strength. But there is still a little further to go, before you reach the pinnacle of your particular mountain. A few more tasks to clear and turn around as you walk across the very top, need to be completed.

So stay vigilant, keep focused on your list of things to do and don’t put things off till the very last moment. You’re still the one directing the path of your journey. Stay on top of it and get everything done that needs doing.  Then you’ll be able to cross the peak and enjoy the walk to the place of your dreams.

Take a little time to look back where you came from. You may see little skirmishes still going on for other people, and some you may know. It’s hard moving forward on your own, when you know what they’re going through and how hard the climb has been to get out of the fray. Continue reading
