The Ænigma Project – Mondays 9 PM EST
The Ænigma Project is a discussion group focused on the realm of the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in our lives. Through multiple view points and experiences, we seek to enlighten our listeners and elucidate that which has become hidden beneath the many layers of misunderstanding and fear.
A One Year Anniversary
One year ago this month I was blessed by an invitation to join Paul Cagle and Sushi on the Ænigma Project as a permanent co-host. My first official show was May 14th, 2012 and our topic was “Soul Mates“. How fitting. Not to mention my favorite number is 4 and all the good things that happen in my life always seem to have a 4 in them some how. I’ve written about that wonderful number four here on my blog before.
In our Soul Mate show we discussed “What are they. How do we make relationship agreements in spirit. Are they karmic in nature? Or is it something bigger?” And that show was followed up with an articled posted here on Reflections, “Soul Mates, Twin Souls & Karmic Relationships“.
I can’t believe it’s been a year already. Time does fly when you’re having fun and we certainly have had many laughs, snickers and passionate discussions! We’ve had some interesting topics I think. I’ve learned a lot from my special co-hosts. And I’ve truly enjoyed our time together. We’ve had our ups and downs with technical difficulties. They’ve almost become common place at the beginning of each show. Sometimes technology simply doesn’t want to cooperate when you have something to talk about. But Paul struggles through and gets the broadcast up and running. I’ve come to expect the technology snafus; it’s simply doesn’t seem like an Ænigma Project show if everything goes perfectly right!
I really do look forward to each Monday night. For the stimulating conversation, the questions and perspectives that cause me to look at topics in a different light. To challenge what I believe, to put them to the test of standing up to expanded journeys and new possibilities. Sushi is great for that!
For me, Sushi is our anchor. She’s the skeptic who challenges our thinking and forces us to look beyond the senses that can be easily deceived. I think every paranormal show needs a realist to ask the tough questions and who looks beyond the hype to find the common everyday answers to what appears to be uncommon. Unlike some skeptics, Sushi isn’t afraid to admit there are stories and events that don’t have realistic answers and there is a potential for the paranormal. She’s the perfect balance for Paul and I.
He and I share similar views, even though our experiences and journey getting here and there have been different. His passion and thirst for knowledge is one of the things I respect most about Paul. But don’t mistake his interest in the paranormal as an easy target for being fooled. Like Sushi he examines the facts, considers the source and looks for the truth behind the hype. Sometimes he points out the obvious that is staring everyone in the face, but no one can see, or is willing to see. But like Sushi he’s not afraid to admit there are things in the Universe that can’t be explained by common reality. And that’s where the real mystery begins.
We’ve had some great times over the year with our Ænigmites in the simulcast chat room. They come up with great questions for us to discuss, alternative points of view and facts that we may not think of during the show. They’re often a great source for laughter as they hold their own discussions…sometimes about things totally different from what we’re discussing on the show! We love our fans who listen to the show outside the chat room too. Along with the many people who pick up the show in the many archives and listen the next day or during the following week. If it were not for our fans, we wouldn’t have a show to do. So let me extend a hearty thank you from all three of us, to each one of you! You make doing the show worth while.
I can’t forget our special intern either! Stephanie has given us some great topics to discuss. You’d be amazed at how hard it is to come up with a story that fits into our dynamic. But some how Paul and Stephanie always seem to find that wonderfully odd and mysterious event that entertains and enlightens us all. Give a tiny little credit to Sushi and I as well. We have contributed to the show ideas. Though not nearly as much as Paul and Stephanie.
And while we’re talking about effort. A Big Thank You to Paul for all he does to keep the show running. Behind the scenes you may not see the weekly effort to come up with topics, research them, set up the website/blog promotions, configuration and production of the podcasts to our many archive libraries where you the fan can listen to past shows. Not to mention the frustrating efforts he goes through each week to get the show on air. Those technical difficulties are all on his desk and he manages to get things up and running.
I’m so grateful to be part of this group of very intelligent, wise and funny folk. I’m honored to call both of them and those in the chat room, my friends. You all have made me a better person by expanding my perspectives and ideas. And by allowing me to share my thoughts and views with you. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this great Project and for having something wonderful to look forward to each Monday evening!
Many Blessings ~
