Don’t rest on the thoughts of others, they haven’t walked in your shoes and have no idea what challenges you’ve faced. You can’t make decisions or base your actions on the box someone else tries to fit you into. It’s your responsibility to define who and what you are. Stand up and take control of your own thoughts.
It’s easier to take in the comments from others, whether they’re negative or not, and be what others see you as. But that does a great disservice to your own path and more importantly your own spiritual mission.
If someone says “You’re a healer”, that’s nice of them. But if it’s not something you’ve thought of before, then it probably isn’t true. It’s no different from if someone says “You’re nothing but a slob”. In either case, you’re allowing someone else to define who you are.
Don’t go out and spend tons of money on new cloths or a new hair style to combat a negative remark from someone who probably doesn’t like they way they look themselves. You are doing the same thing as someone who spends tons of money on the next course in healing, or on crystals, or that new talisman you decided you had to have because someone said you’re “magikal” or you can control the weather.
Listen to your own inner voice, meditate and go within to discover who you are, what you are and who you’re meant to be. You’re much better off listening to yourself than trying to fit into someone else’s box. After all, their box probably limits your talents, abilities and possibilities. Be unique. Be yourself! There’s no one else in this world who’s like you. And that’s a pretty special thing.
