02/04 Our Topic: Weird Coincidences Throughout History
Did you know that a man, his son and then his grandson were all struck by lighting and killed standing in the same spot but within a 50 year time span? What about the twins separated at birth but given the same name, married women with the same name and each gave their son the same name, without ever having known each other?  Is their such a thing as a coincidence or is there a synchronicity to the Universe that we don’t understand?

Last night Paul Cagle and Sushi and I talked about coincidences and synchronicity. In our discussion I mentioned an article on Psychology Today.

The Power of Coincidence
Whether coincidences are meaningful is a mystery. But our talent for noticing and manipulating them is increasingly clear.
By Jill Neimark, published on July 01, 2004 – last reviewed on July 03, 2012

This is a well written article that provides both a scientific and parapsychology view of the topic.

One of the best messages in this article is that humans can enhance their lives by being aware and open to the messages behind events they see as coincidence. Whither they are for warnings of things to be avoided or prepared for; or opportunities to be ready for in order to take advantage of their occurrence.

It’s well worth the read.

The Ænigma Project is a discussion group focused on the realm of the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in our lives. Through multiple view points and experiences, we seek to enlighten our listeners and elucidate that which has become hidden beneath the many layers of misunderstanding and fear.
