Acting the fool once in a while doesn’t mean you’re foolish and can be taken advantage of. It means knowing how to have fun and getting enjoyment out of the little things in life that most “adults” walk past without noticing. Stop worrying so much about what others think of you. You’re letting them define who you are and the person you “should be”. Do you really want to put that power in “their” hands?
There’s nothing wrong with having a little fun and letting off steam. There are many ways to relieve stress and relax. Who’s to say your way isn’t proper or the best way for you?
Don’t live your life based on someone else’s criteria. They don’t know you and their life isn’t all it’s cut out to be either. If crawling around with your animals skins your knee and allows you to have some fun, then go right ahead and do it. Wear that skinned knee with pride.
And when others try to make you feel silly or put you down, simply remind them that life is full of little things that make you smile and see the beauty in living. It’s a shame they can’t take the time out of their overly happy life to reveal in those things. But it doesn’t mean you can’t.
— It’s National Stop Bullying Month —
Do something, get involved and stand up to the fear tactics of others who try to degrade others so they feel better about themselves. That’s all a bully is. Someone who doesn’t have their own self-esteem or self-worth in check and the only way they can feel better about who they are, is to put someone else down. To do that, they find someone they think of as weak and start their fear campaign. But when a target stands up for his or herself, the bully will back down and look for a new target. When they do, find that person and talk to them. Strength in numbers will always overwhelm the bullies. They don’t have the confidence to stand alone.
