Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Queen of Cups – Inverted

Queen of Cups - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Even through worry and stress there are things to bring you joy. If you allow the anxiety and emotions of others to rule over your day, you lose the abundance of spirit you’ve managed to keep alive within you. The material things will not bring you happiness. But the connection of friendship and compassion will carry you through the day and weekend.

Additional Insight:

Perhaps you are struggling financially, or perhaps your best friend is in that position. Perhaps you are facing other challenges that turned your world upside down and the stress and anxiety is constantly overwhelming. Whither it was the loss of a paycheck, a natural disaster, the loss of a family member or even the simple changes in life like a separation or divorce, we all face challenges big and small throughout our lives. And no one person will face it the same way as the person standing next to them.

It’s not the “things” that bring joy to your day, the materialistic objects that have no feeling or emotion for us. It’s the connections we have to family and friends that carry us through hardships. Having someone to lean on, not for money; but for emotional support. Someone we can talk to and forget about our troubles. To put them aside for a while and find something to laugh at or smile about.

If you know someone who is struggling, don’t look at them with pity. They don’t need you looking down on them. They need someone to smile when they enter a room. They need to know they still have value and that someone is glad to see them when they’re around. There by the grace of the Divine go you.

Don’t let your narrow view of the lines in their face create the first reaction of conversation and ask them if anything has changed. Or put them on the spot to say “How are you” when you know they’re probably walking in despair waiting for the next shoe to drop. What do you expect them to say?

While you might want to share your fortunes with a friend, don’t brag about your trip to the amusement park. Don’t go on and on about the great dinner you had last night at the new restaurant in town. It maybe all they can do to walk to the local store because they don’t have money for gas and only have enough for a gallon of milk.

If you’re the one struggling, remember all things change. We may have to climb out of the potholes that form in our way, even when they’re no fault of our own. But when we remember that there is always someone in this world, who has it worse than we do, we can find the strength to go on. Let others look into your eyes and find the survivor.

People are still struggling all over the world, yet it seems the world has forgotten about them. It’s more important to talk about the latest movie star controversy, or the latest fashion misstep by some arrogant clothing store.

Don’t join the crowds who forget about the compassion and connection of spirit that we all need. Even if all you can share is a smile and a few moments of diversion, your kindness can provide the strength for someone to go on and face the challenges of their day.

“The Perspective of Struggle”
  by Springwolf
I’m sorry if my being poor makes me unworthy to be your friend. I guess since I can’t run errands or do favors for you, I no longer have value as a friend. How sad and short sighted of you.

It’s not me who constantly talks about our plight. But you who can’t see anything other than the reality of struggle when you look at me.

To bad you can’t see beyond your own disdain and look into my eyes. If you could, you’d see the strength of a survivor!

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Devil – Inverted

The Devil - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Something is creeping up behind you and if you don’t watch for it, it’s going to get you. It’s ok to walk a path of positive energy, but that doesn’t mean you can ignore reality. You can’t wish or pray your problems away. It takes attention and action to deal with the challenges in life.

Additional Insight:

Even too much of a good thing can be bad for you. Putting your faith in the hands of the Divine and praying for a resolution is great. But you must follow that prayer up with real life action and work.

No little faery is going to pop into your living room and give you 3 wishes, or hand you a magikal wand for the night. “God helps those who help themselves” isn’t simply a Christian euphemism. It’s a realistic approach to being human and living on this planet.

If you don’t start trying, what you fear is going to come up behind you and bite you in the butt. Don’t act all surprised when it happens. Ignoring it will not make it go away.

Stop waiting for someone to save you and start working to save yourself. Aren’t you worth the effort?

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Five of Wands

Five of Wands

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

You may receive a surprise today. Be careful that it doesn’t have strings attached. You may not want to pay the price for what, on the surface, looks like a very nice gift. Consider the source and  don’t be afraid of saying “no thank you”.

Additional Insight:

If you want to give a gift, then use your compassion to give it. But don’t put strings or attach restrictions to it. It’s not really a gift that way and it’s not fair to the person you claim to be helping out.

Today people have a great deal of stress and anxiety on their shoulders. You may not know exactly what they’re going through. You might listen to their story, but don’t assume they’re telling you everything there is to know. They could be embarrassed, over burdened or trying to control the emotions they feel in order to “hold it together”.

Not everyone holds the same priorities as you do. It might be more important for someone to spend that $20 gift on gas to get their child to and from school, than it is for the gallon of milk and groceries you intended it to be used for.

Not everyone likes the same things you do. There maybe a few things in that bag of groceries that they don’t like or won’t use. Don’t be offended. You made the effort and that kindness will be rewarded. If not today, then at some other time in this life or the next.

If you’re the one receiving the gift, don’t feel you must bend your priorities to the will of others. If they are giving you something, be gracious and appreciative. But if you feel you can’t accommodate their demands, than say no. There will be other opportunities coming your way. You don’t have to sacrifice your self-worth, or morals to appease the will of others.

Thoughts and Prayers For Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Wolf Prayers & BlessingsMay Strength Find It’s Way

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. ~ Dalai Lama

On May 20th, 2013 a massive tornado hit the suburbs of Oklahoma. The area was struck by winds of up to 200mph (320km/h) making the potentially 1 mile wide twister a category EF-4 on the five-point Fujita scale – the second most powerful type of storm.

Monday’s storm hit Moore, a suburb of about 55,000 people, at 15:01 (20:01 GMT) and remained on the ground for about 45 minutes.

Many people were killed, others are missing, homes and business were destroyed. We give thanks that some have miraculously survived and have been found underneath piles of rubble or safely tucked away in impromptu bunkers.

Everyone from my family and at Spring’s Haven send our thoughts and prayers to all those touched by this terrible disaster no matter where they maybe. We extend our deepest sympathies to these communities for the losses they face.

May the Great Spirits watch over those hurt and injured,
May the families and friends of those lost, find strength to endure.
May all rescuers pull together in clarity and mission,
providing help and healing where ever it’s needed before them.
May compassion, thoughts, prayers and healing blanket this community,
for today and all the days of recovery to come.

And so it is…
~ Springwolf

Witches Can’t Fly Above 150 Meters

Flying Wolf WitchFlight Limit Set in Africa

Reported May 17th, 2013 in the Washington Times is a notice to all Witches about new altitude flying restrictions.

In Swaziland, Africa no witch may fly her broom stick above the 150 meter (492.126ft) limit for fear of impeding authorized aviation traffic.

The restriction protects witches as much as it does the air traffic in the region. Swazi witches fly on their broomsticks to spread and drop their homemade brews and potions on unsuspecting victims.

Sabelo Dlamini, an official at the Swazi civil aviation authority said: “A witch on a broomstick should not fly above the [150 meter] limit.” Doing so could land the witch a ticket with a heavy fine of R500,000 (£35,487 / $53,837.33). Continue reading

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: The Sun – Inverted

The Sun - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

In dark times it’s easy to worrying about the dogs biting at your heels. But they’re not really there, you’re only assuming the worst. If you continue to view things with pessimism, you’ll create what you fear most. Instead, shine your light on the problem and you’ll see the solution.

Additional Insight:

When times are tough it’s easy to imagine the whole world crashing in on you and blocking out the light. But it’s important to control your fears and allow your imagination to see the light shining through the darkness.

In the light you can see all possibilities, evaluate each road and choose the best path for you in this time and space. If you try to see the road ahead through the fog of fear and trepidation, you’ll miss the twists in turns that lay in the path to the right. You’ll not see the pot holes in path before you and you may notice the smooth, clear road that lies to your right.

The path ahead is built by you, your choices and your outlook. Make the road a smooth one, filled with brightness, courage to face the challenges, acceptance that all things change, and the willingness to focus on the work that will make everything better.

Look within yourself, see the Divine light that shines from within you and allow it to escape the darkness of fear that surrounds you. Only when you allow the light to shine will you find your way.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Five of Swords – Inverted

5 of Swords - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t let the stress, strife and struggle break you apart. Everyone is doing everything they can to deal with the current situation. It’s not their fault, it’s not your fault so don’t keep trying to place blame where it doesn’t belong.

Additional Insight:

You’re not the only one struggling and worrying about the situation at hand. Stop acting like you are. We all handle stress and anxiety in different ways. How you handle things are especially different between a man and a woman. We don’t look at the same things in the same way, so we don’t worry in the same way either.

Simply because you can’t understand their approach to the situation doesn’t mean they’re not concerned and filled with anxiety too. The enemy isn’t the person you’re looking at, it’s the person you see in your own reflection. Focus on what you can do to relieve the stress within. Maybe it’s meditation, maybe it’s cleaning or mowing the yard. Maybe it’s pounding the street or researching solutions. What ever it is, it’s better to turn you anger into action and do something with it.

Sometimes anger can be a good thing. Constructive anger can motivate you, it can empower your energy to pull yourself out of the hole you’re in. Use it for your benefit, instead of simply letting it out in one big outburst toward those around you who don’t deserve it in the first place.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Five of Pentacles – Inverted

5 of Pentacles - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Don’t spend your purse until you’re sure it’s full. The promise of finance is only that; a promise. Patience is hard right now because of the long dry spell. But you must wait until the promise has been fulfilled before you start spending your new found wealth! You might find yourself in a deeper hole that you didn’t count on.

Additional Insight:

Receiving news might brighten your day, but don’t let it turn out to be news of disaster because it’s not what you thought. Today and over the weekend, hold tight and wait to see if what’s promised is really what comes your way.

It’s understandable to want to celebrate because the end of struggles maybe over. But there’s more going on here than meets the eye. So be happy and hopeful, but don’t go shopping yet.

You’re better off remaining calm, doing some research and making plans with the new income that will carry you through the years to come. Being frugal isn’t your style, and that in part is what may have gotten you into the financial mess to begin with. If you are frugal and feel you’re where you are at no fault of your own; you know how not to count on others for your security.

Dreaming is ok. Dreams keep hope alive and help us to strive for a better future. But be cautious. What was here today, can be gone tomorrow without any plan or failover to fall back on.

The Cycle of Life And Death

© 2012 Springwolf Wolf Ghost

From Spirit to Incarnation

Preordained vs Free Will and Choice

Today I read a lovely article by a colleague which talks about life and death and the importance of living life.

“Responsive Reading – Living and Dying:
Every person has an appointed time to live and a time to die. Our time upon the earth is but a moment in the span of eternity. Death is not to be regarded with fear but as something good when it comes in due season.”
by Robert Dorris President/Minister at Unitarian Community, Inc.

I like this perspective. And while I agree that everything happens in it’s time and space, I’ve always had a hard time with the “preordained” concept. And it can be hard to reconcile those two ideas. I believe in reincarnation. And that concept doesn’t fit with the preordained perspective. But I also believe everything in it’s right time and space. So how do you fit those two things together? Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Nine of Cups

Nine of Cups

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

A hug can go along way to helping you get through the challenges. It takes two of you to put up a good fight. Together you will triumph against your adversaries and find happiness. But it takes both sides to balance the work and help each other out.

Additional Insight:

The key to any successful partnership is respect. You can’t simply say the words, you must show it with actions. For action speaks louder than words.

There can’t be an approach to “that’s his job” or “she’ll do that later”. If you see something that needs to be done, do it. Balance the responsibilities means helping each other when and where you can. It means doing little things to help ease the stress of your partner, even if it’s for a day.

Only when you join forces and face the daily challenges head on as a team, will you be able to make things work. This is true of personal relationships, close friendships, business partnerships and even community groups.

Don’t be afraid to help out. If you feel you need permission, then ask. The worst someone can say is no. At least you made the effort to help. What better way to show an act of respect?
