Shield yourself with healing, not with anger or animosity. You can be the bearer of good news by showing compassion, even to those who try to hurt you. They’re carrying their own baggage and something may have happened that triggered their negative actions. It happens to you too. Don’t you wish someone would put a hand on your shoulder and say “It’s going to be ok.”? What you put out, you get back.
The soothing glow of green brings healing. Surround yourself with it and you can find the peace and compassion to forgive, let go and heal. It’s as much for you as it is for anyone around you. So show some compassion to those who are having a tough time and you’ll receive that kindness back into your world.
It’s easy to stand on the sidelines and judge others by their knee jerk reactions. But like you, others have their own experiences that hurt their heart and cause them pain. There could be a much bigger story going on than meets the eye.
Remember that what faces you today is a reflection of yourself. Either your past or your current nature is being presented to you. Look in the mirror and you’ll be seeing what you do or have done in the past. Use the opportunity to make different choices, learn the lessons you’re here to face and break the cycle of struggle and emotional angst.
Whatever you do, don’t get angry and yell at the one who’s lashing out from their place of fear. You’ve been there and know exactly what they’re feeling. Give to others what you have always wanted someone to give to you. Compassion, patience and kindness. You can easily say “I’m sorry you’re hurting, but don’t take it out on me. I’d like to help, if you’ll let me.”
Your offer to listen and show love instead of anger will bring an abundance of peace and kindness that will do you both some good. You can end the day in an array of peaceful beauty. Or in war with swords and shields up. It’s up to you which one you put forth. It’s not going to be easy. But if you can win this day, you’ll break a long cycle of struggle and create real positive change on your path into the future.
