We Should Take Time To Listen
My friend Rev. R. White posted an inspiring photo yesterday and shared a discussion about “how easy it is to become distracted from the path we want to follow by the need to survive”.
This is an issue many around the world face on a daily basis. We create our plans, work on our dreams and do our very best to move forward and walk our talk. Then the mail arrives, or the phone rings and we receive a message that turns everything upside down or throws an anchor in our wheels that brings everything to a screeching halt.
What we had been setting aside to put toward the next step of our dream, has to be diverted to the needs of survival. It’s frustrating, it’s disheartening and it’s easy to lose focus and feel as if once more the rug has been pulled out from beneath our feet.
Then a message comes along in our day to remind us of the bigger picture of the Mind/Body/Spirit connection of our existence. Often times we are so wound up in the struggle, that we don’t remember to breath, much less take a few moments to remember out teachings and to practice our beliefs. We can become so angry that all we see is the fear and we can’t get past the anxiety.
The last thing any of us wants to hear is that we’re making a mountain out of a mole-hill. Or that we’re making assumptions about how bad things are and ignoring the many blessings that have come our way. I’m no better than anyone else. It’s part of the human condition and I’ve certainly been through these struggles and phases throughout my life. But there’s something we can do to help us through these phases and issues.
Life is about balance and it’s hard to see the balance in hardship when we’re working so hard to change our path and keep it on the positive road. But it only takes a little effort to be Mindful in those moments of struggle. Instead of focusing on the instant gut reaction of dread, control your emotions and look out the window. Somewhere around you the Divine is sharing a message to ease your fears and provide you with guidance. Be open to that communication and you shall find it.
Take a moment for a walk outside. Even if you can only walk to the parking lot at work, it’s better than standing in the energy of stress and anxiety.
Lately for me, the messages have been coming from the Ravens and Crows. Animal signs are always around us. But it’s easy not to notice what we think are everyday events or occurrences. The squirrel that ran across the road in front of your car, is that simply nature? Or could it be a message from nature trying to grab your attention so you’ll see where you’re going?
Maybe your message is in a cloud. Take a look and define what do you see? Is it a turtle reminding you to go slow and think things through? Or perhaps a dragon helping you to remember the strength you have within yourself?
This is what happened to my friend Rev. White. He was feeling a little grumpy, “Grumbling to myself about some tasks I needed to do when I got back” from a short walk. He sat on a park bench and looked up to do some sky watching and found the message he needed to keep moving. “Yep Mr. Grumpy looking down at me. He made me chuckle and smile a bit, then he dissipated along with my grumpiness”.
It’s always nice when clouds try to ease our emotions and bring us insight at the same time. It’s one of the most calming and relaxing exercises we can do. If only we take time to look up and enjoy the moment by being mindful. But nature isn’t the only way the Divine tries to gain our attention to share messages and guidance with us.
Perhaps you thought you heard your cell phone ring and when you looked no one had called. But those numbers on your home screen were calling for your attention. The Divine works in mysterious ways. Well not really. But sometimes we don’t look for the messages, and on the few occasions when we do, it seems magikal.
Don’t let the commonality of this communication take away its mystical nature. It’s a beautiful experience when you take time to notice the flow of interaction between the Divine and yourself. Especially when you realize how often it happens.
One of our mutual friends, Rev. Marla took note of these two pictures Rev. White shared. She made note “This photo means to go to where the ocean meets the sky.” Add that perspective with the image of the cloud and they do seem to share that thought. To me, it’s another way of saying “As Above, So Below“.
But it’s not only the ocean and sky that try to communicate insight. There’s the clock time and the date itself.
Numerological Insights
The pattern of three also gives a message to what you might be going through at that moment in time of your life.
In Shamanistic Numerology, number patterns often indicate a message is to be noticed on a larger scale. By that I mean the whole of you, your complete self, the Mind, Body and Spirit of you and your life. It indicates that the event is more than a physical event. It is part of every aspect of who you are.
How many times have you looked at a clock and seen a pattern of 4:44 or maybe 11:11? Why did you awake at that moment of the night? Or did you glance at your phone to take note of 3:33 or some other number pattern?
Numbers like this are called Sub-Prime numbers. They aren’t specific details about you, like your birthday or your name. These are Primary numbers that relate to you and your life in this incarnated stated. Sub-Prime numbers are those things that can change throughout your life. Such as your address, phone number or those random occurrences of numbers in your daily life. Such as a patterned number on you phone.
Alpha-numerical numbers give insight to your physical existence in this incarnation. The random numerical occurrences provide insight to the spiritual aspects of your life, because you are always evolving and changing. They help you understand the underlying spiritual energy that is in play during the events you face. Knowing what those spiritual insights are can help ease your fear or anxiety about the challenges you face. And they can help you take note of the blessings that have crossed your path.
When we see a repeat of three numbers it can indicate a message to the whole being of who we are. The Mind, Body and Spirit aspects.
In this case of what my friend Rev. White shared, messages like this come in two forms. From the number 3 itself and how that insight is applied to the Mind (the thought patterns), Body (the actions being taken) and the Spirit (the underlying lessons that are present).
Three – The number of spirit, the whole (mind/body/spirit), wisdom and enlightenment, bringing empowerment.
- This number is associated with Mars.
- This number is associated with the Birch Tree.
- This number is associated with the Snow Goose.
- It represents the energy world or physical magik. It is a number of balance for feminine and masculine energy.
- Positive Direction: 3 can denote intelligence and a unique ability to understand all sides. Because of this it’s a number of justice or fairness; being able to balance out all sides of an argument and working out the best for all sides. It’s a great number to have for those in the spiritual or legal professions.
- Negative Direction: In reverse 3 can be overbearing, intrusive and disregarding fairness. It becomes a number of judgement based on self-serving outcomes or a sense of righteousness.
But there’s also a message in the calculated number. In this form of numerology the numbers are added together until there’s a single digit.
For instance 5:55 would be calculated 5+5+5=15, 1+5=6. The number of insight is 6.
In this case: 3:33 is calculated 3+3+3=9 and the insight we look for is behind the number 9.
Nine – The number of Divinity, bringing together all forms of mind/body/spirit into one alignment.
- This number is associated with the Universe.
- This number is associated with the Oak Tree.
- This number is associated with the Raven and Crow.
- It represents the ultimate source of everything, The All, The Divine.
- Positive Direction: When 9 is present it represents accomplishment, attaining goals or dreams, the ability to achieve influence and impact over our circumstances.
- Negative Direction: In reverse 9 can be egotistical and arrogant. Making assumptions that everything revolves around its presence. Nothing else matters and there’s nothing else to consider if it doesn’t involve itself.
Interesting how both of these numbers seem to intersect and align with each other. Sharing a similar message and insight. In a way that’s a nice confirmation of the energy working in concert to keep things moving.
Taking Time To Listen
In our incarnated world, we are both physical and spiritual being. Trying to bring both into balance and walk the path of our spiritual mission in this physical state. When we can remember that, we can more easily see the messages from the Divine that help us learn and gain insight into the events of our life.
We don’t need to let fear, anxiety or stress overwhelm our emotions and wonder why. Why is this happening to me? Why now? Why can’t I ever win and gain ground? We don’t need to give in and let our emotions be affected and run wild with thinking the worst or imagining the worst.
Rev. White is a very level-headed man. And he has the wisdom and enlightenment to take note of these Divine messages. He very kindly shared his experience that allowed others to learn through his actions and gain insight into how we all can take note of these events in our own lives. A great lesson and gift to share to help everyone learn and grow.
Take time to be mindful in your own life. Especially when those stressful things come up and cause emotional pain and stress. When you look beyond the physical events and discover the underlying spiritual guidance that is always around, you can empower yourself. You can make the best choices for you and your path to keep things on track toward the change and creation you’re working so hard to make. Take time to listen when the Divine Universe speaks to you.
