04/22 Our Topic: Overtoun Bridge mystery
Sitting quietly in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland is Overtoun House, a 19th Century estate and gardens. On the way to the main house sits a stone road bridge, where numerous dogs have jumped to their death. The phenomenon has been recorded since the 1950s, with a few dogs surviving the 50 feet (15 m) onto the waterfalls below. How many unfortunate dogs have committed apparent acts of suicide, jumping from the exact same spot on the bridge over a 50 year period? Does the phenomenon have anything to do with a murder where a father allegedly threw his son from the bridge calling him the anti-Christ?

Our Deepest Sympathies & Prayers

Our Thoughts For Yet Another Tragedy

Everyone from my family and at Spring’s Haven send our thoughts and prayers to all those involved in the fertilizer explosion in West. Our hearts are greatly saddened by the loss of life, homes and the memories that were shared within those buildings.

We also remember those first responders who were taken too soon as they battled the fire before and after the explosion. Our world has lost a great deal of brightness and caring without them in it.

May the Great Spirits watch over those living through this tragedy.
May the families and friends of those lost, find strength to endure.
May all first responders be held in grace and protection.
We share in the sorrow of all those lost,
and in the destruction of a lovely community.
We pray that the Great Spirits provide healing and compassion for
the coming months and years as the rebuilding takes place and new
memories are forged.

Share the abundance of heart and home with those you care for. It’s not what money buys that they want from you. It’s the quality of your time and attention. They need to know you’re listening and actually hearing what they have to say, even if it’s mindless chit chat. Everyone needs someone to talk to.

Additional Insight:

We all have multiple things on our plate many issues that demand our time. But you’re never too busy for those who are important in your life.

Don’t spend your entire weekend focused on work, or the little chores that you want to get done. Make sure you have quality time with your family too. Taking time to enjoy life is just as important as the work you feel must get done.

Re-examine your priorities. Relationships take work to maintain and succeed. How much work will depend on the quality of time, not necessarily the quantity of time you give to them. If you’re not willing to make the effort, they may find someone else who is willing.

Taking a break isn’t only for those in your life, it’s for you too. You will get back the attention to give to others. If you allow your stress to constantly give out anger and hateful words, that’s what you’ll get back. If you want a hug, understanding and a smile, then that’s what you’ll have to give.
