Don’t be something you’re not. Be yourself and others will hold you with respect and kindness. Stick to what you know. There’s nothing wrong with learning along side others. Share your knowledge together and be open to learning new things with humility and excitement.

Everyone has to start somewhere. No one, no matter how adept or experienced, knows everything. True wisdom is brought about by reading, research and practicing what you’ve learned for an extended period of time. But remember there are always alternative ways to do things.
Whither you’re still learning, but you want to stand up and lead; or you’ve gained the knowledge and need to step up and share what you’ve learned, remember that being humble is the way to true wisdom. Even experts have things to learn. So don’t be too in a rush to correct others and what they think they know.

Remember that what you say and do has consequences. Being something you aren’t, especially trying to be a leader or expert, when you don’t have the knowledge that goes behind it, brings karmic debt. Don’t take a chance on trying to run before you’re even ready to walk. You don’t want to damage your reputation for the future. Be humble. Be honest. “I don’t know” isn’t a fault or a failure. It’s an opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge. Continue reading
