Don’t let the news of the day swallow you up. There’s no reason to let it overwhelm you or consume your attention. It’s a distraction from the real work you need to be doing. Stay informed and speak out against injustice, bigotry and intolerance. But don’t make this your fight. Support those with boots on the ground and you’ll be able to help the right side win the day and you’ll keep yourself out of harms way.
Additional Insight:
Remember yesterday when the battles were raging? Well they’re still going and you still don’t need to be involved. Nor do you need to distract yourself by becoming embroiled in other battles that are a long way away and only barely touch your world. Remember “you can’t fix stupid”. Nor can you force others to change and see things your way.
It’s ok to isolate yourself from the fray going on around you. But don’t trade one war for another. Speak your mind to correct misconceptions or confront injustice. Remaining silent in some of those situations only supports the side you’re upset with. But calling out bigots for what they are doesn’t mean you need to become one of the soldiers in the war.
Being pissed and angry is ok to a point. But channeling that energy to correct these misconceptions is a better use of the energy. Don’t allow yourself to be manipulated into a situation that does not serve your purpose. The last thing you want the other side to say is, “See, I told you they were violent and dangerous people”. Prove them wrong by standing up to their bigotry with knowledge, facts and most importantly civil calm resolve.
Don’t be afraid to write letters clearing up the misconceptions, but don’t do it with vulgarity or arrogance. Your words will fall on deaf ears. And for those battles that are closer to home, walk away from the skirmishes and make yourself scarce. Unless someone is being physically harmed, you don’t need to be in the middle. Yesterday’s battle isn’t over and it won’t be for a few months. Maybe by October things will resolve themselves and calm down.
For now, pick your battles and keep out of other people’s wars. Focus on what’s right in front of you on your plate. You have things that need to get done. Stop putting them off and allowing yourself to become distracted in issues you don’t control. Focus instead on the things you do control and that are currently on your plate. Those issues are costing you money!
A Little Numerological Insight:
This was the 1,440th post on Reflections and those 4s caught my attention.
If you’ve seen my number insights before you know that Mathematics is the only language shared by all humans regardless of culture, religion, or gender. Numerology is the study of the divine or mystical relationship between a count or measurement and life. It has many systems and traditions and beliefs. My practice of numerology is Shamanistic Numerology that’s based on Celtic and North American Shamanistic teachings. It’s not the only method, the best method or the true method. It’s simply one of many methods and one that resonates most with me and my personal perspectives of the Divine and the world we live in.
Actual | Derived | Calculated |
1440 | 1+4+4+0 | 9 |
Nine – The number of Divinity, bringing together all forms of mind/body/spirit into one alignment.
- This number is associated with the Universe.
- This number is associated with the Oak Tree.
- This number is associated with the Raven and Crow.
- It represents the ultimate source of everything, The All, The Divine.
- Positive Direction: When 9 is present it represents accomplishment, attaining goals or dreams, the ability to achieve influence and impact over our circumstances.
- Negative Direction: In reverse 9 can be egotistical and arrogant. Making assumptions that everything revolves around its presence. Nothing else matters and there’s nothing else to consider if it doesn’t involve itself.
Well that’s interesting. Rise above the fray and approach the day from a place of Divine calm and civility. Don’t allow yourself to think you’re the one with all the answers that can resolve everything that’s happening. It’s not your war. Sometimes rising above means, sitting back and watching things play out for others in the mix. You can’t learn their lessons, you can’t fix their karma and you can’t force others to change in the way you think they should.
It’s also interesting that 9 is associated with the Raven and Crow. Our friends who govern transition and change. Nothing stays the same. The only real constant in the Universe is that things are in constant motion and always changing. Sometimes that change is difficult, but it needs to happen in order to move forward into a better place. Remember, the old might need to be destroyed in order for the new to be created. It’s the basis in the concept “Out of Chaos, comes Creation”.
