A 5 Year Anniversary

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

How Things Have Changed

Five years ago on this very day, December 1st, I began pulling a tarot card and sharing a message for your daily meditation. The messages for those first cards were very short and sweet. No additional insight was given. It was simply my way to bring attention to my new spiritual business through social media and advertising. How those initial messages have changed.

Today is filled with creative magik, communication and oversight.

It wasn’t until March 2010 that the daily message began to expand on the initial message of the cards to add at least one more sentence to put the images into context. By May 2010 I had settled into sharing a daily card and finally became more comfortable with divining messages for a public preview.

It wasn’t until 2012 that I began expanding on the initial message posted on Spring’s Haven here on my blog. So there’s a few more years to go before that milestone comes around.

Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Nine of Pentacles – Inverted

9 of Pentacles - Inverted

Make sure the little things in your life know they have value. In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we can get wrapped up in getting things done, that we forget what we’re doing them for. Make sure the little things know they have value and that finances aren’t the only measure of worth. Sometimes a hug has more value than any gift card can ever buy.

Additional Insight:

Many people work so hard making sure their holiday season is perfect, that they forget what the holiday season is all about. Start this season out on the right foot and make it more about love and kindness; not the number or size of presents under the tree. Set the tone up front and make this one more meaningful and different from the very beginning.

Watch your dimes and quarters; make sure you remain within your budget. But also remember that the commercialization of this time of year isn’t what this season is all about. And you’re the one who will control that perspective in your household.

Not all families are out of the financial crisis of the Great Recession. People are still fighting tooth and nail to stay afloat or to keep from going under all together. That extra bit of cash you have might do more good if it’s offered to a local food bank, or buy a holiday dinner and take it to your local public school. The counselors there will know the families who could use it most. Continue reading
