The Ænigma Project is a discussion group focused on the realm of the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in our lives. Through multiple view points and experiences, we seek to enlighten our listeners and elucidate that which has become hidden beneath the many layers of misunderstanding and fear.

What is a Free Form Show you ask? A Free Form Show is an episode where we will not have any particular topic and will talk about and discuss any paranormal idea, topic, show, thought or question that we want. Or we will discuss any question we are asked from the chat room, via email or the voice mail line.

It’s all about us!

Sushi, Paul and I will sit around the table for tea and coffee, and maybe even have a list of questions for each other or about a topic that we are interested in. We will follow where ever the topics take us.

If you have a question or topic you’d like to hear us answer or discuss, please email them to paul@aenigmaproject.com or leave us a voice mail at 423-521-2930 and we will see about getting it on the show. Your questions can be generic or specific and can be about our background, experiences, opinions or none of the above and be about the supernatural world in which we live..

The Festival of Bel’s Fire

May You Have A Wonderful Holiday Celebration!

By the Solar Calendar, the holiday is celebrated on May 1st. But by the Lunar Calendar it’s honored on May 6th.

The early Celts were very balanced in the way they scheduled their lives. One of the places this is seen most clearly are in the High Holy days.

Each festival fell in between a solstice or equinox. February 6 for Imbolg, May 6th for Beltaine and August 6th for Lughnasadh as examples.

With the advent of the modern calendar, the festivals were assigned to dates based on solar cycles. And most Pagan Metaphysical traditions follow this selection of dates for their holiday observances. To some degree this does throw off the balance intended for the cycle of the lunar year. This is also one reason varying traditions hold their festivals on different days. Wicca for instance recognizes May 1st as the date for Beltaine. Where as my tradition, Deborean, still recognizes May 6th as the date to honor Bel.

Who was Donnie Decker and could he really make it rain, even inside, when he got upset? Was he possessed as some believe or was this some other sort of paranormal phenomenon? It started after his grandfather’s death when he was a teenager in February of 1983. From then on, his paranormal encounters only became more mysterious. So intriguing that the TV show “Unsolved Mysteries” took time to investigate this Pennsylvania native. What did they discover? Tune in and find out.

04/22 Our Topic: Overtoun Bridge mystery
Sitting quietly in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland is Overtoun House, a 19th Century estate and gardens. On the way to the main house sits a stone road bridge, where numerous dogs have jumped to their death. The phenomenon has been recorded since the 1950s, with a few dogs surviving the 50 feet (15 m) onto the waterfalls below. How many unfortunate dogs have committed apparent acts of suicide, jumping from the exact same spot on the bridge over a 50 year period? Does the phenomenon have anything to do with a murder where a father allegedly threw his son from the bridge calling him the anti-Christ?

What Are They?

Sabbat {Greek – Sabatu – to rest}
The Pagan holidays, called Sabbats, are seasonal celebrations representing birth, life, death and rebirth, the cycle of life itself. These celebrations are a means to attune the physical human mind, body and spirit with the flow of natures’ energy and the essence of the Divine Spirit in one’s life. For Pagans that can be a God, Goddess, or a collective Divine consciousness or spirit, such as the Great Spirit or to some The GreatSpirits, with an emphasis on the plural.

It is a bonding time, a time to recognize the aspects of the season within the self. “To become one with nature” is a common metaphor for the overall purpose and intent of these holidays. They are almost always reverent, link the individual to the Divine force in their life, and reconnect to the Divine Universal energy around us that we are all part of.

You might think of it this way;
I am not the Goddess, you are not the God. But You and I And All things seen and unseen make up the Divine force in the Multi-verse of existence. We are connected and intertwined together to create the whole of the Divine Spirit.

Most Pagans believe that by joining forces with the Divine in our lives, we bring harmony, balance and order to our physical existence. These are necessary aspects of life for positive change and to create an atmosphere for spiritual learning and growth that lead toward enlightenment. Living in harmony and balance creates a daily connection to the Divine within an individual. It’s a connection that’s persistent, instead of only occurring during meditation or ritual. Our Deepest Sympathies & Prayers

Our Thoughts For Boston, Massachusetts

Everyone from my family and at Spring’s Haven send our thoughts and prayers to all those involved in today’s Boston Massachusetts bombings. We hold all competitors in today’s Marathon, their families and friends; here and far away at home in our hearts.

May the Great Spirits watch over those hurt and injured,
May the families and friends of those lost, find strength to endure.
May all first responders pull together in clarity and mission,
providing help and healing where ever it’s needed before them.
We send our thoughts to the international community present
and we pray that compassion and forgiveness will find its way to all.

We also send out prayers to those angered by today’s event, that they find patience and tolerance. Please do not make this tragedy worse by harming any group of people or persons based on assumptions of bigotry and hate.

The community of the world can only find peace when compassion is shown to our neighbors. Only when we allow patience to thrive, allowing justice to flourish will those responsible be held accountable for their actions.

04/15 Our Topic: The Devil’s Footprints
On February 9th to 11th of 1855 in a heavy snowfall, a series of hoof-like marks appeared in the snow. Most of which measured around four inches long, three inches across, between eight and sixteen inches apart and mostly in a single file. Did a cloven hoofed creature actually walk between 40 and 100 miles, crossing over houses, rivers, and haystacks in East Devon and South Devon, England leaving only hoof prints as evidence? If this wasn’t some supernatural creature then what else could it have possibly been?
